  1. Was I alone in spotting the bird swooping down onto the pitch throughout the second half of the game on Saturday? East End end? I think it was either a pied or grey wagtail but couldn't tell from the 32nd row of the Dolman. What are other readers thoughts?
  2. I hope that Rover wasn't a Corgi. Using a dodgy gas engineer to remove your boiler would have been quite frankly fool-hardy.. But then again, getting a dog to remove your gas boiler would have been madness. What was I thinking?
  3. Can't they just cut out the middle man and be angry with Bournemouth (by association)?
  4. Wouldn't it be the SFA who would need to take action against Celtic? Or UEFA?
  5. Not in the Championship I appreciate, but I can recall Mansfield being 2 goals up at home (4-2 I think it was at the time) in the 88th minute and the away team went on to win 5-4. Now, if only I can remember the away team....
  6. I think the Foos ship has sailed as the tour was announced a couple of months ago and they sell out venues twice the size of ours. Nice idea though. Blur maybe?
  7. What goes around etc... In our favour for once. I can live with that
  8. As we found out with Tomlin...a dirty little minx on loan, turned into a frump and we couldn't score...
  9. Or an engagement with a view to marriage...
  10. Now that Graeme Garden Higgs-Bosun has signed on loan with the option to buy, just trying to recall the last time that we actually triggered that option to buy because the loanee shone during their time here? Did Andy Cole come on that basis or did we just buy him in the Summer because we'd all fallen in love with him? I think that Diony came on that basis (we didn't take up the option THANK GOD), Leto maybe (again, no deal). Kasey Palmer maybe? sadly, the phrase "Loan with the option to buy" leaves me feeling somewhat "meh"
  11. Dear all, I posted some very dark thoughts in here last year after my wife died. I wasn't in a good place. Last July I could have easily taken my life. However, through the love of my family, my friends, @BS4 on Tour... was there with me every step as well as my Portishead Scooter Club family, I have muddled through. I am forever grateful for their patience. I am now in a new relationship with a very caring and understanding person - she has to be to understand me drifting to some of the dark recesses of my memory. But, I am in a better place now than I was last year.
  12. My son has asked me to share this information. A friend of his, Jack, a City fan, tragically died at the age of 28 on 6th July. His family have shared a Tweet asking if his life could be celebrated on the 28th minute this Saturday. Thank you.
  13. ?. Bit confused as the original question was in regards to payments for HNM...
  14. I find 442's recent journalism to be lazy. It's almost like they sit in the office and go "West Brom and Norwich will be up there, they're big clubs...", "Let's pick a club with the momentum of promotion from last season (it can't be Plymouth because we can't be bothered to venture that far out-west", "Blackburn and Sunderland did ok last season so we'll back them" and that old chestnut "Leicester and Southampton will bounce back; 2 clubs always do. Haemorhaged players? Have they?". "Let's fill in the gaps....oh, you missed Hull...where is there a gap?"
  15. I went to Middlesex Poly in the late 80s/early 90s. During 1989 (I think it was), The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Inspiral Carpets played at different sites across the Poly, all within a fortnight. I couldn't afford to go to all 3 so chose the one at my most local site, Enfield (Ponders End). It was the Inspiral Carpets. Oh well (although they weren't shabby).
  16. I think we've all been missing something here. If 2 clubs bid £25million for him, we accept BOTH offers and don't tell the other. £50million just like that. It's simple really, I'm surprised no one else has thought about this ever in the whole history of football...
  17. Not quite. Tickets will still be £150 for the Foos I'm sure! By the way, I'll be missing Noel even though he's 100 yards from my front door: flying back from holiday. Seeing him in Taunton instead. No, Foo Fighters: my son's girlfriend's brother play in HIMALAYAS who are on the bill; quite a coup for them. I imagine they'll have someone bigger before them like MSP maybe?
  18. I've discovered the Kinks very late 60s early 70s catalogue recently. This is a standout...
  19. Let your daughter know as well that the Foos are playing Cardiff next June (25th). I have it on VERY good authority...
  20. First game - the Friday night game as I fly to Portugal Saturday lunchtime. First away - Now who could I miss quite happily. QPR maybe? Bored of their pokey little shed of a ground (although it is a good day out to be fair and a recent happy hunting ground). Preston then? Boxing Day - Cardiff home although there's no chance Final game - a winner talks all scrap v Watford at their place
  21. Will Ashton have learnt his lesson or is he a one-trick pony? I bet he currently feels vindicated at Ipswich by getting them promoted and a lot of their players will still be contracted into next season at least. Will be an interesting one.
