  1. That is very true. I also find that any act of kindness, however small, makes me want to cry at the moment. I think that I may be depressed which is understandable I guess.
  2. imagine what you are going through. Cherish the time you have with your wife as BOTH of you are special. You will find many who will talk with you and help you through this and remember it is about you as well. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both. Yes, thank you both. Life does feel bigger than it has done previously and although I have now become my wife's carer (secondaries all down the spine, pelvis, hips, femur as well as the lung and liver and so she's now pretty immobile), it isn't a chore at all: I regard it as a privilege. Hardly unsurprisingly @Dollymarie, I ******* hate cancer too!
  3. My wife has stage 4 breast cancer. There is no cure. I cry every day: I talk every day. The pain is going to get worse for me but I hate to think what it is like for her knowing that she is leaving us behind. I don't think that we've talked as much as we have in the last 6 weeks: yes, we've talked but we'd never really talked if you know what I mean. In the words of a northern soul song (Darrow Fletcher I think), the pain get's a little bit deeper every day. And it will. But I cherish the moments I have left with her and value my friends who are there to lend an ear (some of them are on here - you know who you are and I love you for that).
  4. I was told that I needed a pension pot of £250,000 in order to retire at 62 and live in the manner to which I have become accustomed. I was then told (by the same advisor at a later date) that I needed to take the maximum lump sum out when the time was right (e.g. 62) from my work superannuation scheme which would leave me short of the £24,000 a year that I would need to be taking out prior to my 67th birthday. I'm confused...
  5. I was Doing in a pub in Chepstow about 4 years ago (The Fives - I was playing a mixture of reggae, ska and northern) when a skinhead walks in. Not a regular but he heard the music and thought he'd come in. Turns out he was Gas. Found out I was a City fan but we got on like a house on fire. He was quite pissed mind. Know quite a few Sags in Caldicot - 2 or 3 lived here for a few years but more moved in recently. Quite a few City as well (probably more).
  6. As clubs in Tier 2 area can now welcome back fans for their home games (and home fans only), does this now put clubs in Tier 2 areas at an advantage? Didn't seem to do Luton any harm on Wednesday. Sorry if this has already been covered on a different thread
  7. Me and my 16 year old son danced around the room when he lost. Childish.... But it felt GOOD!!!!!!!!
  8. Am I the only one who gets irritated by Shane Warnes constant yammering during commentary? Is he being paid per word? I know commentary is about talking but Warne needs to learn that sometimes silence is telling even if it's for a milli-second!
