  1. People moaning that £9m isn't enough and should easily be double figures, are going by media/journalist speculation. This afternoon I've seen speculation that includes £9m, £10m, £10.5m, and a multitude of add-ons/bonuses. Nobody knows outside of the club(s) involved, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it announced as an undisclosed fee, so that we don't give the game away to potential clubs selling us replacements. Some people need to calm down.
  2. Christ, that escalated quickly ? One out and one in, all sorted and announced within a few hours. All very professional and well done - what's happening ?
  3. If there is anything in this, this could be the offer that sets the wheels in motion with regards to Antoine wanting to go. Not a bad starting bid
  4. Very interesting turn of events. Seems to good to be true, but having confirmation that the source is usually fairly reliable..... Makes sense with Bentley supposedly talking to Wolves.
  5. These "links" with Palace, if genuine, would probably be the best move for him to be fair. They play decent football, a system/players that would probably suit his style of play, and you would think are probably less likely to be drawn into a relegation fight. Looking ahead, they also generally buy whilst the players are on the up, and then sell for a bigger price a few years down the line - better for us. He's going to be gone within the next 18 months or so, the question is when. If we do sell this window, I think that with the current regime they will be making things clear that any deal needs to be done by a certain date, otherwise he's going nowhere until the summer at least. Also think (hope) that a replacement is in the pipelines ready to go, should any deal happen. That's not to say that someone else could come in in the meantime and take said player away from us though.... So if we go on the "stories" being true, we have Burnley, Bournemouth, Palace and Southampton all watching and showing an interest. I think if he's still here on Saturday, what he does when he leaves the pitch will give us a clearer indication of what he is planning on doing for the rest of the season.
  6. **** me sideways, you don't half talk some shit don't you!? Nobody, and I mean nobody (and I include Bas Savage in this) has ever, EVER, thought that Savage was a replacement for Stewart. Savage was a punt that went wrong, and should never have been anywhere near a professional football club, as he couldn't hit a barn door from 2 yards, and couldn't do much with a ball at his feet. He had the feel of someone who had won a competition to get a contract. Mind you, your lot have had a load more of them over the years. Stewart was a marquee signing that went wrong for many different reasons. He was coming away from his best years, and was in decline - hence why he ended up signing for us where we were at that time. He couldn't have tried harder to make it work, but it just didn't happen. Whichever idiot said he wasn't good enough for us, certainly did you a favour all those years ago. What's your next move then saggy?
  7. Good point - can't think of a negative there.
  8. Surprised they haven't tried taking over a church yet.....
  9. If the £8m bid is true, I would imagine it wouldn't take much more for is to accept.
  10. Also shows how closely we monitor them whilst out on loan as well.
  11. Looks like a thug most of the time anyway tbf.
  12. So this was all a raging success then? When's the next one...
  13. Go on fill us in, could do with a laugh
  14. Yep pretty clear as @Percy Pig says. If you want him, pay what we're after, otherwise do one, he'll sit on our bench. If Pearson came out and said "Dan's not going to play for us again unless everyone else is struck down with a virus" or something which implies we're not that fussed now, then any potential offer is going to be well short of what we would be prepared to accept. By saying we're not going to let him go and leave us with no/fewer backup(s), you may as well be saying "you can have him for nothing".
  15. He was clearly offside. Can't have any argument on that.
  16. Tell him to his face ?
  17. I don't get Peterborough at all. On one hand they're very shrewd when it comes to transfer dealings - good prices, decent sell-ons etc, and also make it clear that if you aren't going to sign a contract going into the final year of your existing one, then you're transfer listed. On the other hand, they sack one bloke, appoint the previous one to him, and then do exactly the same thing the next time around. It's absolutely bonkers, and surely there can't be another situation like it anywhere else can there? I mean I get that sometimes a manager returns to a previous club when things don't work out elsewhere, but to go back that many times..... Have they both got something on someone very high up like chicken fiddling or something?
  18. That old common issue with a rewire where you mix the live wire up with the petrol..... ?
  19. Well to be fair, there isn't much else left for anybody to **** up is there? Alternatively just leave everything as it currently is, and they'll manage to do it without anybodies help..
  20. House near me has just had a marquee put up, thought the bastards had upped sticks and moved up to Essex overnight for a second
