  1. Can they put an announcement out to tell everyone to get off the WiFi to help boost the upload speed to sky!!
  2. Also interesting is that I've just seen they've sacked their head of recruitment AND head scout, after questions are being asked about the summers business. Owners clearly not laying the blame at Coopers door. Very interesting at Forest....
  3. Thanks Dave, so maybe Pearson is putting the pressure on, either by moving Bajic up to the squad (he was injured initially to be fair anyway), or by giving him a chance on the back of a bad game. It wouldn't be the first time he's dropped Bentley for a bad performance(s). Think the club has played this well. Extremely possible that Bentley could move on, and Bajic has clearly stated that he has come here to play when he signed. Once he gets his chance, whenever that may be, he needs to take it. We also need to be aware that he may take a few games to get adjusted to the squad and championship football, so a few mistakes could happen.
  4. How did Bentley play on the weekend? Was out so didn't follow any threads, and was too annoyed to watch the highlights. Maybe Bajic to start?
  5. Doesn't mean anything, it's a known fact that he is a city supporter.
  6. Perhaps it's a case of giving him a nice shiny new contract so he gets a bit more compo when he's sacked. I just find it bizarre that earlier in the week there were stories about how uncertain his future was, and he's signed a new contract. He should be given time seeing how well he's done to get them to where they are, but that isn't how football works is it? Either he was due for contract talks following their promotion, assuming there was no promotion clauses in the original one, or the board have accepted that they'll probably go down anyway, and by keeping/standing by Cooper through relegation, they'll hope to do a Norwich with Farke, and come back up even stronger. Does seem a bit strange with regards to timing though.
  7. Can't say I'm surprised, think it was inevitable really, especially the whole new club every year or so thing. Mental illnesses are awful, but he certainly hasn't helped himself over the past few years. It's a shame because he is an extremely talented footballer when he's on his game. Unfortunately that's not very often. I'll have fond memories of his loan spell, where he was great. I was extremely excited when it was clear we were trying to get him permanently, however the way it went on and on, especially over social media, you kinda got the feeling that something wasn't right. The rest as they say, is history. I hope for his, and his families sakes, that this now means he can fully concentrate on something else, and just be happy. Perhaps the first step is getting himself away from social media.
  8. The Sky coverage was OK, other than a bit where the camera went wierd, but to be fair that can happen on live coverage anyway. People on virgin were saying they had commentary from a different game (possibly whoever the main game was, can't remember who that was) whereas the sky commentary was OK all game, even when the camera operator was possessed!!
  9. But to be expected. That's probably not the heaviest defeat they'll have all season. It's OK though, they have Lingard who definitely didn't just go there for the money, along with 30 others.....

    Chris Wilder

If Pearson left today, I'd be happy with Wilder as a replacement. Sometimes the club isn't the right fit for a certain person, whether that's as a player or member of staff. If what @Northern Red said above is true, then that could also be a factor in what's gone wrong there. Nige has gone from 5th longest serving manager in the league, to the 4th very quickly.
  11. Chief Security Minister Mahfud MD posted on Instagram that 42,000 tickets had been sold for the match at the Kanjuruhan stadium, which has a stated capacity of 38,000. Somebody has a lot to answer for - that's if it's investigated properly.
  12. Why do people smoke, drink, do drugs? It's something that creates a bit of a buzz, and excitement, getting that last sticker to complete a team! I last did one around 2012, maybe 14. Started with a free copy in a newspaper, then saw some booster packs in a supermarket for about £1. Got about 3/4 through then gave up. Must have had about 200 swaps..... Bit of harmless fun, but like many things of late, it's become a bit expensive to carry on. I remember collecting when I was in school, and a pack was around the 25p mark. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but there's still a huge market for it.
  13. Unfortunately he is probably a better fit than some owners of club football around the world. That's the worrying thing. Serious question though, aside from the fact that he is a scumbag that fits in well there, who in their right mind would want to buy them? They have a decrepid, hideous looking ground that is mortgaged to the hilt, an ageing fan base, no prospects of getting a new ground anytime soon, a transfer record that is probably older than the average age of supporters at most clubs, and no history (other than a worth nothing cup they crowe about, and finishing higher than us one time 30+ years ago!) Taking my red hinted glasses off and looking at them as a neutral, there is nothing there to build upon, unless you're willing to knock down the existing ground, spend copious amounts of money doing that, and a fair amount on trying to get the squad and infrastructure in place. Barton is (if there's any truth in it) just talking more BS to humour the few. This leads me onto my next question - how do you know when Joey Barton is talking BS again? The answer - he just opens his mouth.
  14. To be fair, he would have backed himself to do a decent job, and for him, Watford could have set him up for life. Yes he would have been a cheaper appointment than previous ones they've made (or are still paying possibly/probably), but he would have been on a fairly decent wage, and if he wasn't, him and his agent both need their heads examining!! The compensation for being sacked will be a fair wedge in itself as well. From Watfords point of view, what the hell were they thinking!? Said it at the time, and I still say it now, this was just a mess from start to finish for them. The chances of Edwards going in there commanding respect from players who have probably never even heard of him, let alone Forest Green, and suceeding were remote at best. To be fair he's done a decent job, and leaves them a place behind us, level on points, and have actually lost 2 games less than we have. Trouble is with the owners, is that they would have expected to be at the top, and clear by a point or two even at this stage. Even then, with their history it still might not have been enough to save him. Edwards is made for life now, all thanks to a few months work. If he wanted, he could walk into any League 2 club, most of League 1, and some in the Championship probably - Watford are still in a decent position. Yes that is partly down to the calibre of players they have there still, but he's still been there managing them. Rovers supporters would crawl over broken glass to have him in charge (broken glass left by Sharton destroying something probably), but it may well (likely) be that part of the compensation from Watford will only be paid until he finds a new job. With that in mind, he could probably afford to be very picky with his next club. He will get a decent enough club I think, but he will have a lot of eyes on him. Here's an interesting question for people - if Pearson were to leave tomorrow, would you be happy to have Edwards replace him?
  15. Actual footage of his time in the Watford office.
  16. From a chairman's perspective that would be a very clever thing to do. Then this is Wally we're talking about. Exactly this. Nobody should expect to be in that office for too long, but let's be fair, Edwards has gone there knowing that, along with the fact that when he envitably gets fired, gets a nice big juicy payoff. Apparently they've only just took delivery of the nameplate for his office door.....
  17. Membley, absolutely love it. Irony of the highest, and from the official sags!! Lee did wonder what happened to that when he got to Sunderland. Dirty pikey bastard...
  18. I get knocked down..... but Robbored helped me back up and kissed it better. In all seriousness, he had money provided to him that many other clubs and managers would have loved to have had, but continually failed to deliver. Knew exactly how bad the drinking culture was around the club at the time, and in some respects was just as bad from what I heard at the time. Should have gained promotion at least twice.
  19. It's a difficult one, because on one hand some clubs could be "forced" into kicking off earlier if it stops them from struggling financially. In that respect, most supporters would understand the stance. You then have some season ticket holders that suddenly can't make some/all early kickoffs. Technically they've purchased their ticket(s) knowing that some fixtures may change date/times, but if this means that most times change, it's not what they signed up to. On the flip side you have the supporter(s) that can't make the 3pm kickoff, but could do an earlier one. This in turn could mean that they could buy a season ticket off someone that can no longer attend because of the time changes. Of course the bigger issue here is the money grabbing, greedy energy companies that suddenly think they can rule the world.
  20. She'd be pissed about the prices nowadays then!! It will never go back to it, or become the norm again, but it wasn't so long ago that a lot of clubs changed the away kits every 2 years. Wouldn't make as much money though would they....
  21. Heard something the other day where (I think) the Forest manager was saying that the players are still yet to gel together properly. No surprises there then.....
  22. He's just worried because it means he'll have another new manager to impress, so will have to put the effort in for a bit longer
  23. Wouldn't be a bad shout in all fairness.
  24. I like 5, but number 3 is classic. Just needs Benny Hill music over the top of it!! To be fair the saggies only got 2 of those goals because the goalkeeper got bored and thought he'd go for a run around the pitch, so 6-3 actually flattered them!
