10 points given up from an inability to deal with restarts properly. No good being able to do ridiculously skilful stuff if you can't get the basics right.
I don't think they'll be that far down the line with it. If Root has had enough then he's right to step down regardless of who might be the replacement, that's not his responsibility to worry about.
They finished top last year as well.
Convinced that some just see that they've lost the odd game and therefore assume that they and/or the coaching must be crap, without having the slightest clue about how they've been doing. Happened a few times on here.
Still gives them another thing to whinge about.
As I said when this was raised the other day, re-appointing LJ would effectively be SL admitting that Ashton was the problem and was allowed to be so. And I don't think SL does acknowledgment of his mistakes.
Not long back. It wasn't for the want of trying, but there was a serious lack of quality on display from players who are capable of better. The one bit of magic led to the only try.
There's justified moaning, which every one of us does at some point, and then there's the relentless, baseless, agenda-driven bollocks that a few on here live to indulge in.
That's the difference.
Yep. They were one wicket away from winning the title last year, the game at Liverpool where Lancs scraped home 9 down.
A new ball attack of Abbas, Abbott and Barker is as good as there is at this level.
I think it's because he has a central contract, he has to be assigned somewhere unless he chooses not to be involved.
If it's anything like last year then he'll only be available for about a week of it anyway, assuming he's still in the Test squad at that point.
That's why I can't see it happening, because it's the only real justification for giving him another shot but doing so would be a tacit admission by SL that Ashton was the cause of a lot of the issues and made a mug of him.
A few years ago I was working away in Birmingham and one Monday night went to take in Redditch v Truro, I think it was a Conference South fixture at the time. There were actually about a dozen or so Truro fans who'd made the trip but I remember wondering how on earth that had been scheduled for a midweek.
