  1. I think there's a lot of truth in that. Think back to some of the bad runs and results under LJ and the amount of times we saw "imagine what an experienced, proven manager could do with this team", sometimes justified, sometimes not. Unfortunately by the time we did get one, the circumstances have changed and he is hamstrung, regardless of what people want to claim. That's not to defend some of the performances or think that we shouldn't be doing any better than we are, but it does seem from the reaction to literally every setback that some had an expectation of the proven manager coming and him fixing it quickly. It doesn't work like that and anyone thinking otherwise was utterly deluded. Of course, you then have the camp who claimed they'd just be happy avoiding relegation, yet seemingly unable to process that finishing lower midtable/just above relegation means that you'll lose a lot of matches and that, by their nature, losing a lot of matches inevtitably involves some poor performances.
  2. And would Steve Cooper or someone like him been up for the challenge here, that frankly goes beyond what's happening on the pitch?
  3. They actively don't want to. Doesn't suit their view.
  4. I get that, and it's been shit. It's the kneejerk catastrophism from people who go missing when we win that I have a problem with.
  5. Whoppers on here revelling in it. Not a peep out of them at the weekend. Poison.
  6. Interesting call in midfield. Ordinarily you'd think that one of James or Williams would be benched given that they're both building up to full fitness. However Massengo's cameo on Saturday might mean they both start again. Wouldn't surprise me if Wells does get a start however if he does I think it's more likely he replaces Semenyo than Martin.
  7. As I've said before, the time to move Eddie on if they were going to do it was last summer. Halfway through a World Cup cycle and would have given the new man 2 years to prepare. They decided to stick with him, so he's here until the World Cup now unless he decides to walk.
  8. Standing him next to Jay in that lineup is just taking the piss, isn't it?
  9. It'd be totally impractical in reality, but I'd love added time to be dependent on the outcome of the time wasting that's gone before. E.g, if a team is winning 1-0 and is clearly taking the piss with time wasting to the point that the ref lets it be known to them that he's adding it all on, but then they concede an equaliser before 90 minutes, they don't then get that added time back to try and win the game again.
  10. The only time I've not got it was a couple of weeks ago when I had the last 4 letters but didn't get the first one from multiple possible answers. If you want more of a challenge try Quordle or Octordle.
  11. There was a piece with him in one of the Bermudan papers just after the window shut when there'd been talk of him going to Cardiff and he came across as nothing other than very professional. Obviously wanted to play more but he had no axe to grind with Pearson. They understood and respected each other's positions, whilst Wells acknowledged that Semenyo etc had deserved to start ahead of him and that when he had got chances to play he hadn't taken them.
  12. Glorious. I'll never say anything bad about the club's social media team ever again.
  13. Sam Billings said the same on TV the other day, which was quite revealing given that he was in the squad during the Ashes.
