  1. I've read all through this thread. Sometimes I am so proud of my club, and sometimes they embarrass the hell out of me. And I don't mean on-field.
  2. I agree, I meant wrong decision to alter it now. Naturally I want to win games and if one extra days rest will make the difference then ok I can see the reasoning. But I honestly think the club doesn't take into account the huge effort many fans have to make to actually attend games; work, child care, transport etc all have to be juggled. Add in the factor of a long weekend for some, but not all, and to move it now won't be easy for some.
  3. Understandably our own fans are upset and Notts County fans too. Wrong decision.
  4. I didn't see the first debate so purely judging on what I saw last night. My impressions were that Nick Clegg has probably spent too long in the company of Cameron as he seemed to constantly be making silly smug comments and digs, then looking around waiting to see people thinking how clever he is. I actually think Cameron speaks to him like this and now was just repeating it on Farage. I know Clegg is a politician and I see how they behave in PM's questions, which I like for it's playground humour, but I expected better from Clegg, more dignity. That bit about WG Grace was embarrassing and cringeworthy. And all those references to things being 'dangerous'. I think all Farage has to do is stay calm and yes stand up for himself but don't get dragged into the playground bully tactics and he will take votes.
  5. Agreed. I have always said we are too soft at home, or have been on many occasions over the past couple of seasons. But my comments were intended to be regarding the future. Getting into a mindset of dominating at home, which should hopefully mean we win games and picking up what we can away. Putting positive runs together rather than lurching from one game to the next is what we are doing now, and has to continue beyond this season.
  6. Got to agree with you. Colchester want/need the points too, they are in an almost identical situation to us. They shouldn't be expected to lie down and give up without a fight, they are the home team and that should be an advantage. Maybe that's what we could learn ourselves. I'm sure we've gone a couple of goals down at home and just about given up in getting anything from the game in the past. Lately we have a more positive outlook but days like this enforce the fact that all is not lost if we find ourselves in that situation. We have also got goals from players other than Baldock and Jet, surely goals throughout the team is a positive. We also seem to have more feasible options on the bench now, again a positive. Get the points at home and go for at least a point away and everything will fall in place.
  7. Exactly what I was going to post. No problem with them moving ( as long as they don't come to us!) but it is sad the Memorial Stadium and what it stands for gets turned into a supermarket
  8. Very proud of our 10 men tonight. A hard game and there will be some tired legs on Saturday, but the win tonight will have them all feeling 10 feet tall and aches forgotten. Bring on the Swindle...
  9. Well they do say Coach One are a bit unwelcoming to anyone who isn't 'one of them'
  10. We seem to be going round in circles. Neither manager has been able to get the return they should have with the players we have (or had). Is this down to management failings or player failings? As I said elsewhere it seems whoever is in charge and whichever players we have we go backwards not forwards, and have done for too many seasons now.
  11. I guess he is saying he is not used to losing. I thought we made the effort to bring in players who also had that 'winning mentality', Flint involved the the playoffs, so to was El Abd and Moore etc. we had young hungry players, Reid, Bryan etc. have we somehow turned them into more Bristol City losers again? No matter who plays, or who is in charge we seem to get sucked into a downward spiral of relegation. Why are so many affected, we've been bloody well cursed.
  12. TRL, it might have already been mentioned but I believe Marv is doubtful for Tuesday as he has a massive lump on his head after clashing heads and then fell awkwardly on his ankle. So not as bad as feared maybe, but could be better.
  13. Yup, someone has just pointed this out to be. I wonder who is going to knock 9 past us in April, Stevenage away on Easter Monday perhaps? I was going to go to that, I don't think I'll bother now! Looking foward to scoring 5 in December though, nice Xmas bonus that!
  14. That's shocking. If they can't get a football score right what else is factually inaccurate that they print. I gave up buying it ages ago, pure comic.

    Baldock Today

Right my 2 penny worth. Baldock and Jet don't seem to have much of a partnership, they don't work particularly well together, but between them they contribute a lot of goals. I would have been tempted to take both of them off 10 minutes after HT, but without seeing Barnett play I looked around the rest of the team and couldn't really see where the 2 or 3 goals we needed would come from. Cunningham or Wagstaff looked the next most likely to score. Reid ? Pack? Gillett? Nope, unlikely. The rest of the defenders, even though they come up for every corner etc? Again unlikely. I did like the introduction of Wes Burns, every game I have seen him play he has made a contribution. I like how we use Cunningham at the moment, suits his game better than purely defending. He got into some great positions but he isn't a striker, just as Wagstaff's strength isn't defending. So as unconvincing as it is do we keep using Jet and Baldock as we do or try to get one of them to play with a different partner. We do really need to stop letting in unchallenged soft goals though, that's a certainty.
  16. The more I read the more I like! He sounds the type of player I was hoping Flint would be. Flint can now learn from the Master!
  17. I love him already. He's the sort of player you hate if he is the opposition, both as a player and a fan.
  18. But what would be the cost of another relegation? Say he helps to save us this year then perhaps next season we will seriously be looking at promotion, would he be worth the financial outlay then? Hopefully he would pass on his experience to our younger players too, and also often having players like him will attract other players to sign too. It's not all about what's left to sell at the end.
  19. Was it a shock that he left, or has it been looking likely as he was being kept out of the team by others. I just seen that he made his 300th appearance for you on 11th Jan (90 minute sub). Just seems a bit strange, but I'm happy as he sounds just what we need.
