The Official Fulham v Bristol City Match Day Thread
RedM replied to havanatopia's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Fulham all over us. We haven't had a shot. Early goal killed us. Lots of fouls against us ref not seeing. We looked doomed on that half...and that's the first time I've really thought that. Hope 2nd half is better. Huge following here and they will be kicking this way -

A visit to a bigger ground to see a bigger team is always going to be attractive, the fans will make the effort. Us? We only played Forest.

Agreed. We looked like a team that hadn't won in weeks, lacked the confidence to have a go at Cardiff. We should have been buoyant from the Forest game where it seemed we did most things right, including coming back from behind to win the game. Today we were back to hit and hope and mostly play head tennis. I never seen the ball out of play for so much of the game, stop start all game. I guess Cardiff did a job on us, we didn't get to play. Relatively early goal and they shut up shop, didn't bother attacking us and probably scored with their only shots on target(?). I'm disappointed, Cardiff were poor and we couldn't score against them. I wouldn't want any of their players and I can't see them getting promoted on that showing at all. As for our players, they pretty much all had a poor game. They can play much better than this. Yes we missed Korey, Freeman was poor wanting too many touches and inviting players onto him hoping to beat them with a skilful flick which wasn't happening.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned (I haven't read all through this thread) but there's a lot to be said for the saying 'if something appears to be too good to be true then it probably is'.

Yet another plan. Someone spoke to a coach driver at the services earlier. He promised to drop his people at Gatwick and come back for us which he has done...fair play. He is nothing to do with City or anything. We have just boarded.not moving yet. This driver obviously not expecting to go to Charlton so trying to look up a route on his phone!!!!

Apparently the jump leads wouldn't have taken coach to coach voltage anyway. Still sat here. Unsure if a new coach being sent up now..Maybe only a mechanic so we got this coach back too. Almost no info being given. Very poor. Not stewards fault but feel we are just cut adrift from the club. Lady was thinking about hiring taxis but seems like club won't fund this. Eastville say they have no breakdown cover
-
Yes Eastville. It had problems before we left Bristol but driver instead of calling it in carried on. Stopped at services now broken down. Apparently coach 2 had dropped at Charlton and on way back to us. Will take hour to get to us and then we will have that hour journey ourselves. Coach driving up from Bristol to get us after the match. Obviously it's all Lee Johnsons fault!!!!
-
Battery is flat after driver left the lights on. Jump leads fell apart. Eastville coach. All other coaches have left us. One is coming back and taking us. Hour there, hour back and then another hour to take us there. Looking at arriving at 4pm at best. Another coach coming from Bristol to take us home after

Going back to Kodjia, before he scored he had missed another excellent chance and it went behind for a goal kick. As the others trotted back to the half way line Kodjia remained for a few moments on his own and seemed to put his hands together and looked to the sky. Whatever he said, and whoever he asked he was rewarded. Either that or the roar of support he got from 5000+ City fans spurred him on.
