  1. Thanks @Septic Peg, just wondering really as I like to know how these people get these jobs, the reasons why they switch. I guess the commute was a decider with a young family so that's understandable. Don't recognise our lady's name, I guess she is new? Was this Billingham's role until recently?
  2. So the Gas have some cash to spend on wages as I can't imagine he or the Brighton one they've employed would be cheap. One last throw of the dice to make the club look good and attractive perhaps? Good luck with that!
  3. Has he come straight from Brighton to the Gas or was he 'released' from Brighton a while ago? I can understand him trying to get work if unemployed but to go to them from a Premiership club, no way. From what I saw at Brighton he got their name out there and the flag waving was good for their promotion match. Im losing track with our comings and goings, who is our equilivent person here?
  4. Exactly what we said about teams like the Gas playing football to that sized crowd week in week out. I was sat corner of South Stand and Lansdown so couldn't see how full Lansdown was or what corporate boxes were being used but we had a whole row to ourselves and the one behind was empty. The Heinekein Lounge wasn't being used and at least one block of turnstiles were not open at the Winterstoke Road enterance. These photos were taken before the end of the game
  5. I thought I would take a look on here and see what you all thought about today's game, well it looks like pretty much the same as me. No flow to the game, I think they did a number on us perhaps? They set up to disrupt our play and it was their 'cup final' type of game, and to be fair with the help of the ref I thought for a while it might be their day. We got to be a hell of a lot quicker, sharper and have a better game plan than that. It was the rugby equilivelent of the Millwall game. Yesterday I was sat in the warm sunshine watching a quilte entertaining game of football at QPR, today I was cold, wet and bored at AG. Hartpury seemed to have a load of fans there today in the 7400 ish crowd, take them away and the fan base looks very sparse and at those prices I can understand why.
  6. Yes it's like an embossed raised tacky gel surface, they hold the ball against it so it doesn't slip. As I said I haven't seen it on Bristol shirts before.
  7. I have seen them on other teams shirts, not noticed them on Bristol shirts. But only on the players shirts, not on replica kit.
  8. @phantomit's those sticky pad gel things they have on the shirts to grip the ball, they've just made them out of BS logos, not a bad idea really. Just looks a bit strange until you get your head round the fact they are there yo help play the game.
  9. Yes I've just seen this, the away kit is all red and they are using pretty much a copy of the home shirt they got relegated in! http://www.bristolrugby.co.uk/news/bristol-rugby-reveal-home-and-away-kits-for-201718-season/
  10. Had a chat to Pat Lam at the Balloon Fiesta today, what a nice man he is. He took a training session for the kiddies with some players and coaches and he genuinely looked like enjoyed himself and was great with the kids and was a friendly and it was lovely to meet him. In just a short chat I really felt he will be the breath of fresh air and we've made an appointment worth waiting for. Some people just have that certain 'it' and he certainly does. There was a player there, not sure of his name but I think it was the new Samoan player we signed a few months ago who has just joined us. There was lots of banter going on between him and the others, he's certainly settling in well.
  11. I was telling him Forest Green would be their only option as they had upset everyone else, he wouldn't accept he had to move but totally rejected FGR as they are 'too vegan' . After seeing the Barnet fan and his pasty from there on points west last night I think many might feel the same. If anyone saw the BBC piece about FGR first league match hosting Barnet it was quite well done, they found a Barnet fan who said he would eat a vegan pie if they didn't get a win there. He said the ground was in the middle of no where which amused him. They drew so they met up with him afterwards and said he could eat half a pasty, he tried it, said it was 'disgusting' but still took it away with him!
  12. Doesn't Bristol Rugby train and operate out of the offices at Clifton Rugby Club? , no room for Gas there then!
  13. I had similar on Sunday too, only this Gassy mate was convinced they could stay in situ and redevelop the Mem. He was utterly convinced they wouldn't have to relocate even though his plan was to turn the pitch by 90 degrees!
  14. Yes, I know but as I said they will still think it's a goer. As you said they had it on a plate but still failed. Looks totally amateur and tinpot, I would be so embarrassed if I were a Gashead. Can someone please explain what this charge is against the Mem that is in place, I missed the news about this and don't understand. I'm going to be with a load of Gasheads on Sat Eve and all day Sunday and I want to get my facts rights to give the pot a stir, so I'll be looking at this thread for input.
  15. The Arena land is available by TM isn't it, too small for us but I bet they sure eying it up
  16. I guess fans have treated him like some kind of Demi-god whilst they believed in the stadium etc. Yes their league standing has improved, but even with that aside their big dream was the stadium and now that's busted and they look around their facilities, how much more patience will they have. It's ok when sloshing around non league and not investing in players or the ground but if you really want to be sustainsble we all know how much you have to invest, never mind if you have ambition to progress. You have to start least match the teams around you and they aren't doing that.
  17. Yes it will be nice to see some wins again, few and far between last season. Went to every home game bar one, and yes that was the win against Bath, gutted but as I was in Newcastle that made up for it. I'm seeing this season as having to take a step back to rebuild and then get promoted with a better chance of staying up this time. Anything less will be a failure on par with what the football club has done in the past.
  18. And people think I've got strange taste!
  19. Got to say it's bloody depressing seeing those names again. Really hits home. I remember feeling similar when I saw Hull in the Premiership football fixtures all those years ago.
