  1. He’s bloody great. We are so lucky that we got him, not the type we usually appoint, sadly.
  2. Which would be an excellent season, 3rd best finish in over 30 years.
  3. What I find strange is it was only a month or so ago I read one of the blue few complaining that us starting at home (because the balloon fiesta is the second week) was so unfair & why couldn’t they start at home? Now transpires they couldn’t do so anyway. Loving the imaginative use of the word “ambitious” for their meccano construction at Alton Rd, by the way. If they are seriously pretending it will be ready by the second home game it isn’t exactly like building the South stand, is it? Tinpot ******* losers.
  4. Massively disrespectful to James & King too for the role they have played in the last two years. Both are good, decent pros who have earned every penny we have paid them. What a contrast with so many others in the recent past, yet this joker wants to slag them off.
  5. Interested to know how you know this. We wouldn’t be the first (or last) team to sell its best player, plenty of them then subsequently do better, for example Brentford & Brighton repeatedly do so. Your description of our existing midfielders is predictably moronic, so which one of those is Jason Knight? I’ll put you on ignore, I think, not going to learn anything reading your nonsense.
  6. This. FWIW if Scott goes I do think we will look at bringing in a project, a midfielder with L1 or maybe even L2 experience who is a bit like George Tanner was when he signed, someone for the medium term who could possibly still do a job now. We would still have James (plays 33-35 games a season on average, a top player), Knight, who is a certainty to start, Williams whose availability has improved & so would probably play a similar amount to James, plus King who is ostensibly cover for those named above. If we bring in a CB before the end of August I would also see Naismith & McCrorie as possibles, the former certainly would give us creativity with his passing. McCrorie has definitely played as a DM & if Tanner starts well he’s going to find it very difficult to take his place. Then we have Weimann who as you say is ideal for the 10 role, especially when we already have 6 others competing for the 3 front places. Finally Benarous who we need to be careful with after 2 ACLs but could come back & be a very valuable midfield squad option.
  7. Absolutely never bottled the big games, either.
  8. Over 236,000 followers on Twitter, so not some random loser. Someone on here put a laughing emoji in response to me saying yesterday that I think it will happen, we’ll see who was right over the next few weeks, eh?
  9. The figment of someone’s imagination, straight from the one man cult of Danny Wilson, a manager who let a lack of professionalism & drinking in BS3 reach a totally embarrassing level. Fortunately a few years later Gary Johnson put us on track.
  10. As the years pass I have more tolerance for his nonsense behaviour off the pitch because if anyone had a tough start in life, he did. On the pitch he was bloody good, strong, quick & a proper goalscorer. Only at City though could we have a 50 goal strike partnership & fail to even make the playoffs or the season before have a clown in charge who didn’t even put him on the subs bench for the most important game of the season.
  11. Are we 100% sure Liam Walsh isn’t one? Visited a football pitch about as often as they come to earth..
  12. He wants to leave & won’t sign a new contract, so it isn’t too much of a stretch to think he has seen Wolves are a complete mess & so Bournemouth probably represent the better bet at present. They are the only 2 clubs showing serious interest, so mention of anyone else or him staying is fantasy stuff.
  13. I had in my mind they said he could be back earlier than that, he’s been out since February so was certainly expecting him back this year.
  14. Very much like when we sold Bobby Reid or more recently Antoine, a fairly large fee but virtually nothing off the wage bill.
  15. Just listened & the only surprise was NP appeared to say he didn’t expect Rob Atkinson back until potentially the New Year? As for the one further addition that seems likely to either be goalkeeping cover or a CB, based on his answers. Very grateful that they do this but not the first time there have been mobile signal issues with Nige so why it isn’t pre recorded & those glitches ironed out beats me.
  16. Just had a look, **** me they are so stupid. One post said those objecting are the sort who often do so for “humatarium” reasons, what the **** even is that? Another post responding to rumours of a new investor actually said Wael has said that he wouldn’t want to lose control but he might reduce his stake to 25%. Incredible. Did no one in Fishponds ever do maths at school?
  17. He’s missed the last couple of friendlies, so yes. No further information yet but NP is bound to be asked about him as the week goes on.
  18. Or “I’m surprised that West Ham aren’t interested”..
  19. Just watched the highlights on YouTube & with that & the blatant penalty on Pring, wow. Either he was some local ref who is a Pompey fan or refereeing standards remain shit. I know what my money is on.
  20. As someone who would happily never play them again it did occur to me that it would be hilarious if they had drawn us at home in the cup next week. Options? Ask to switch the game to a ground that’s fit for purpose or otherwise a complete logistical nightmare, as presumably we would have been guaranteed a certain percentage of space in their ramshackle, 3 sided ground. Sort of wish it had happened now.
  21. Looking at the 22 players that we had involved today, it seems to me to be between Leeson, Araoye & Knight-Lebel for the final place in the squad next weekend (it is 9 subs now) assuming McCrorie isn’t available to be a sub. With Naismith not fit & Kalas not looking like returning I would expect that we’ll keep him around, as he appears to be ahead of all the other young centre backs & Idehen is clearly on the “can leave” list.
  22. I think he was referring to Raphael Araoye, seemed to be saying that he played then before having an injury interrupted season last time out.
  23. Scored his first today in a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham, delighted for him. Looking highly likely to make his league debut next weekend at Accrington I’d have thought.
