  1. Does anyone think he’s trying to get sacked? Obviously he’s a massive narcissist but even by his standards this is weird behaviour. In character for him to do the “I’m considerably richer than you” schtick but the Tucker Carlson, Andrew Tate business is properly sinister.
  2. Nope it was a draw at home to Orient, 2-2 I think. Story went SL couldn’t believe how pleased he was with the result & lost patience.
  3. There were loads of them, scraping home draws against the likes of Oldham, Orient, being totally outclassed by Peterborough.. You and I were there mate, but not too many others were, we were absolutely dying on our arse. Interesting to listen to Frankie Fielding talk a few years ago about how SOD destroyed his confidence, how Flint struggled, really great man management to go public & say you wouldn’t have paid the £300k for him, Cotts then turned him into a player we got £8m for, by the way. But what a great coach, with basically one plan, give the ball to JET..
  4. I was really looking forward to League Two if he’d stayed in charge.
  5. I like the idea of running with a relatively small squad but personally think we are currently a centre back short unless we are very confident that Atkinson is going to be back in contention soon. I would not be at all surprised if we went back for O’Brien of Palace. If we see Naismith as a CB then should Scott go I’d definitely expect another midfielder to arrive, looking at your list once you get beyond James & Knight you have Williams with a less than stellar availability record, King, who will be 35 fairly soon & Taylor-Clarke who has looked miles off the standard in several of his appearances. It is some leap of faith to go with Wiles-Richards as our regular back up keeper, I expect we’ll take a proper look at him in the friendlies but he has no senior experience at all. Bajic is the key for me, if he stays we’ll probably go with what we have, if he moves on then I’d expect a more experienced deputy for Max to join.
  6. Proper City legend, a South Bristol boy, who played for us for nothing in ‘82 when we were skint & scored a number of vital goals at the back of our very first season up to keep us in the top flight. RIP.
  7. They know they got a reaction last time they said this, along with suggesting sacking him & appointing Nathan Jones. Ignore them, they are ill informed *****.
  8. Would do you think we should do if no one is prepared to go any higher up front, then? Keep a player who wants to leave? With no guarantee that he’s going to be happy in the interim. He also won’t sign the new contract that’s been on offer for months, pretty obvious why. Wait a year for offers that probably won’t get any higher as he’ll then be a year from his contract expiring? We realistically have 2 weeks to see what the highest offer we get is and then almost certainly sell. Bournemouth are currently the only game in town, West Ham might be interested but he’s well down their list.
  9. Spot on, be interested to know the names of the other 19 year olds with 83 Championship games under their belt.
  10. Food for thought for those on social media saying what a waster… He’s done remarkably well in life to achieve what he has after such a difficult upbringing. Whether he gets his career back on track or not is far less important than getting his life straight now.
  11. This. Every day of the week. I don’t like Bournemouth but fact is they are in the Prem, have spent eye watering sums in the last year & do represent a step up for him. I think 2 relegation spots are virtually nailed on next season so those posting they are coming back down, need to realise firstly they have survived one season already then tell me the lottery numbers. Also a lot of delusion too about Scott, he wants to play in the Prem far more than stay another year with us. That’s before we get on to the “perhaps he’ll get loaned back” fantasy stuff..
  12. From a distance it looks like them & Sheffield United are in a competition as to who finishes bottom. Luton have signed a Barnsley defender & a Rotherham striker, good players in the Championship, but they aren’t now. Sheffield United haven’t signed anyone & their manager admitted they released 2 players (Stevens & Sharp) he would have kept. Spot on about Luton & VAR, Morris’ dives & Lockyer’s fouling will be spotted by it.
  13. Side has already been picked for Bath too, those who are playing know they are. This is like we were due to play & a flash flood (& there have been plenty of them recently) means it is off. They have plenty of other games coming up so will adjust accordingly.
  14. I meant the league one ground & support, getting there by cheating FFP whilst being bankrolled by a dubious Russian investor.
  15. I find them a pitiful outfit but their money is the same as anyone else’s & so if they offer the asking price then he’s off. Mad to think though that they could have given us circa £50m for 3 players (Kelly, Semenyo & Scott) if it happened.
  16. Obviously just my opinion but this is what I think has changed in the year since he signed. The management team has had the opportunity to assess him more both as a player & a character & simply don’t think he’s for us. His availability record hasn’t been great, of course he could have just had an unlucky year (it was decent at FGR) but references to having to manage his injury & the rumour that he failed the medical at Bolton are red flags. Pearson is big on seeing how players deal with adversity, he’s certainly tested the likes of Pring, Vyner, Atkinson & Wells in the past & liked what he sees. I know someone (he doesn’t post on here) who retired a year or so ago so sees most of the home U21 games, he’s a very positive sort but told me when we caught up that Wilson was consistently really poor for the 21s & described him as “passive” & at a game where you can hear every word completely silent, in a side where by a distance he was the most experienced player in a team that was almost entirely comprised of teenagers. Not long after that he stopped getting picked for the 21s at all. I knew at that time (April?) he wasn’t in our plans & would leave this summer, which is exactly what happened.
  17. They took 40,000 to Wembley, mind.
  18. We both know how this ends. August supermarket sweep where they sign 5 players on a season long loan from Prem clubs. One of them moves on in January to a team with a realistic chance of the playoffs, one does well for them, the other 3 are meh. The Post writes an article saying the one who moved on wasn’t that good (complete opposite of what they said in previous months), Barton claims referees are against them & he gets a touchline ban for threatening a match official. They finish 14th, above Cheltenham & Fleetwood but below Lincoln, Barton says he’s the best manager in the league.
  19. The clause doesn’t last 2 years though, does it? Derby presumably hope he’ll be there for longer & if they do then sell him down the line, we benefit. Looks to me from the outside that this arrangement is an adjustment as part of the Knight deal but also would mean we’d get a sell on of any fee received, because there is nothing upfront.
  20. The other way to look at it is he didn’t start a single league game in the whole of last season, was out injured for a lot of it & struggled so much in the 21s in the latter part of the season that we stopped picking him. I wish him well but we were absolutely right to move him on.
  21. McCrorie wore 2 at Aberdeen, seems almost certain he will.
  22. How can you possibly believe fighting with nightclub bouncers is in any way comparable with hitting a woman? For clarity if we had signed someone who had tried to cash a dodgy cheque in a pub no one would be too bothered about that either. The Simpson example is much more similar & I consistently posted at the time that we should not have signed him & even if he’d turned out better (the fact he didn’t is actually totally irrelevant here) I would still wish we hadn’t.
