  1. Undoubtedly. This season, like the one 15 years ago when us & Hull got to the final, was an outlier. 2 of the 3 relegated sides weren’t serious contenders for promotion. No way that happens again next year, Leeds are massive, Leicester have incredible assets to sell. Definitely tougher but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make progress.
  2. No idea about the actual figures but the BBC are reporting that Leicester’s wage bill was the 7th highest last season, so absolutely incredible to get relegated in those circumstances.

Delighted for Paul Simpson, must be some feeling to get your home town team promoted. Nice local trip for those jokers over the river, too.
  4. So only league goals count now, eh? What a sad **** you are. Semenyo is a Prem player now, whatever you think. I’m fairly confident he’s not going to score a hat trick tomorrow, he’s injured.
  5. The poster to whom he replied famously said this & refused to back down, despite the mounting evidence. McCrorie just subbed off, think he’ll be here soon.
  6. Think most games in Scotland when they play against the old firm must be like this, basically like a side promoted into the Prem then facing Arsenal or Liverpool, you get about 25% possession & it is a constant game of defending. He’s been ok, won a fair few headers on the diagonal from goal kicks but as has been pointed out above, we don’t play wing backs & so he’s not going to play there. Reminds me a bit of Bradley Orr, which isn’t a bad thing.

    Playoffs

The changes in the division have pretty much evened themselves out, losing Reading & gaining Southampton, possibly losing Coventry & gaining Leicester, losing Sheff U & definitely gaining a side in Wednesday or Barnsley that’s very nearby. Plymouth isn’t near but is far better than Burnley, Wigan or Blackpool too. Leeds is a trek but not much further than those, whereas Everton would be virtually identical.

    Top 3 up?

It was, header in front of us from an ex ?Wednesday player, put us 1-0 up on the night, 2-0 on aggregate. They pulled a goal back second half & it was like the bloody Alamo.
  9. Might explain why he’s such a serial diver then. Does it all the time to win penalties, Brentford have had loads because of this.
  10. Should have got a life ban from playing.
  11. Was playing there prior to injury when I saw him against Rangers, too. Intriguing, seeing as we ditched that system a while ago. Genuinely have no idea if Nige sees him as a RB, CB or DM.
  12. On the final day they had 30,000 which bumped it up a bit.
  13. It’s going to be a long summer…
  14. No chance he goes anywhere else. His successful loan at Auxerre has put him in the shop window for medium sized Ligue 1 clubs, like you I’ll be amazed if he is somewhere else than France at the start of next season.
  15. Definitely recognise the face, going since I can remember, so mid 70s. RIP.
  16. At the moment it’s basically a path, isn’t it?
  17. Presumably apart from that 2-2 draw up there 4 games back? Or the home win over them in 16/17 or the draw (when we were 2-0 down in the 88th minute) in 15/16?
  18. The OP telling everyone that someone who has invested in a football club now has less money than someone who didn’t.
  19. Definitely, you can add Jimmy Mann (what a player), Mark Aizlewood, Lee Matthews, Terry Connor & Ronnie Sinclair to that list, too. Only Shutt & Ayling joined them from us, vast majority made the reverse journey.
  20. They’re away to Newcastle. Their last 15 games reads: won 1 drawn 3 lost 11. I’d get money on it if you really think they will. I’m not sure they’ll get another point.
  21. Mathematically, but realistically Leicester have gone, only one of the first two.

Great news on two fronts; Simpson seemed a nice bloke & if they win the final that’s a really horrible journey for the blue few.
  23. The side that got to the playoff final for the Prem had McAllister & Sproule in the squad, where were they signed from? Loads of clubs at our level like Preston & Luton have players in their squad that were signed from Scotland, what a ridiculous comment.
