  1. Very similar. Said yesterday the only other one I could think of was me for the Bountyhunter in 1990 v the Leyton Orient fanzine on Hackney marshes @Merrick's Marvels @77 punk @CyderInACan @Bristol Oil Services..
  2. Sure is, if you look at the penalties Barton’s lot get (7 & counting) this is how they get the majority, initiating contact & going to ground. Ivan Toney is a serial offender too, deliberately makes contact & goes down, Brentford get a large number of penalties as a result.
  3. It was a terrible decision but I think a big factor in them not getting their second shout, when Pring tripped their player after it came back off the post. Having given one so incredibly soft he then bottled a far stronger claim. One of few occasions when it actually did even itself out.
  4. Probably saying something, but think he was amongst the worst of the season. Got so much wrong, Hugill could easily have been sent off for his elbow on Pring, their penalty was a joke, I actually thought they had a far stronger claim when the ball came back & the guy was tripped by Pring after hitting the post. Their 16 had most of Weimann’s shirt in his hands but after playing an advantage never booked him, then inexplicably penalised Weimann when we broke with a 3 on 3. Harding the sub for them committed at least 3 foul throws that were missed & I thought it was a penalty for the foul on Conway, again blatant shirt pulling. Abysmal.
  5. Good shout, no less “Academy” than Semenyo, though we got him because he was released by Chelsea.
  6. Bloke who has managed Fleetwood & Roverrz is now giving clubs miles above them who are about 3 or 4 times as big his advice. He has to be the least self aware manager in the league & the Post lets him spout this deluded shite without ever challenging a single word he says.
  7. Pearson’s press conference today seemed to as near as possible confirm he’s not going to be fit to play for us again this season. Can’t see any way we’ll make him a contract offer now.
  8. That’s exactly what it means & is completely misleading. If Hillsborough can accommodate 30,000 & 25,000 people turn up that’s obviously far better than having a ground which holds 10,000 & 9,000 turn up, but not in his world apparently. He’s trying to pretend they now need a bigger ground because they almost fill a very small one #gaslogic.
  9. It isn’t, as has already been explained it is the Barnett formula or as it should be called in Wales “free money”.
  10. We’re of a similar vintage & for years the only striker we produced was bloody Nigel Hawkins.. The fact that this season alone we have had Semenyo (who was with us at 16/17 whether he’s technically an Academy product or not), Conway, with 8 Championship goals already at 20 & Bell. We’d have been happy with one of these in the past & like @Davefevs I’m in the camp that he’s shown more this season than I expected.
  11. Depends on the question. Who is Mickey Bell’s son? Definitely the answer to that. He’s 20 & blows hot & cold, great finish against Boro recently (remember that?), a few excellent goals in the FA cup. He wouldn’t be an automatic starter for me but has already proved his value. Plus if we think that we got his Dad cheap, he was even cheaper…
  12. That’s true, but some parts of Bristol are still incredibly deprived. For a person who lives in Hartcliffe & works 40 hours a week to have to pay tax on just £25k or so that then enables someone on £100k a year in Cardiff to have free prescriptions & capped tuition fees for their kid is simply disgusting.
  13. Already happened with Swansea, council bought the land with EU funds, built the stadium then leased it back to Swansea & the rugby team for a nominal rent, it might even be as low as £1 a year. The more you know about how much public money Wales gets comparatively to England the more angry you’ll get, it’s an absolute scandal. Remember playing veterans football once Caerleon way, the opposition said the pitches were free for them & they got public money for a new changing room, it’s a farce.
  14. Spot on, Ndiaye is really good. Baldock is obnoxious but a decent full back & Egan pretty much the CB every team in our division would want. I think it’s their style, first half they hoofed it anywhere & when added to the fact they could easily be Alex Neil’s Preston mark two, with sly fouls, stopping free kicks being taken, using every trick in the book, they’re not exactly likeable, in huge contrast to Boro. Like they care though, they have found a way of winning that’s getting them promoted, but unless they work a miracle & based on the fact a few are on loan anyway, they will be favourites to come back down.
  15. Completely fair & I agree. There is a marked contrast between this appraisal though & others who refuse to accept he’s done any good things of late & are just going to repeat “not good enough” ad nauseam even when examples are provided.
  16. I thought you didn’t give a **** what I think? 100%. For one thing in a side that is struggling to score he is far more likely to contribute a goal from midfield (like he did against Blackpool) than anyone else we have. I know you have pursued a fairly relentless campaign against him (that you must have been gutted that you had to pause last season) but he’d be in my side.
  17. So with Cornick playing better, O’Leary not at fault for the goal last night we’re on to Weimann being the scapegoat I see. It’s like last season never happened, isn’t it?
  18. Mehmeti’s goal at Stoke, who played the brilliant ball through that set it up? Who cleared the ball off our line in injury time at Huddersfield? Yeah, “but apart from that”..
  19. Exactly how I see it, Conway & Scott. Scott has been incredible this season but as well as his rubbish free kick at the end, he certainly didn’t go into challenges the way he has & you do wonder if the speculation is getting to him. Conway didn’t do much tonight & seems to have pissed Pearson off. He said he thought the team that started the game did well overall so although Bell’s crossing was poor, it doesn’t appear he meant him.
  20. I like Wells but it’s a long while, his last 2 goals have been penalties, he has only scored one goal In open play this year. His general game is good but even in the win at Stoke he should have scored & is struggling in front of goal.
  21. Two of them came on (at 0-0) on 65 minutes, plenty of time to make an impression. Scott didn’t really get into the game in his 20 minutes or so.
  22. Not surprised, they should be the biggest club in the county & a league one, too. They have been criminally mismanaged over the last 10 years.
  23. Wednesday absolutely taking the piss by bringing on Bakinson second half.. Sub 9000 “crowd” from the few, despite playing comfortably the biggest side in the division with a huge away support.
  24. Depends if they get a penalty.
