  1. As if we couldn’t forget the Cardiff result.. Anyway, Happy Easter to all.
  2. Think the second paragraph is exactly how the club views the situation. I fully expect a far more experienced keeper to arrive this summer & Bajic to get fed up of waiting for his chance & return home. Don’t for a minute think it will be a big name, probably a keeper that’s out of contract in League One or a Championship squad one.
  3. This. Spot on, mate. Stroud is comfortably better than at least half a dozen refs we often get. This obsession with him is years out of date, Eltringham, Linington, Gavin Ward, Davies, Langford, Doughty- all shit & far, far worse than Stroud.

    Wells

I’m not saying that’s great but seeing as he usually gets the last 15 minutes now he’s not exactly getting much chance to improve on that. Obvious as he goes into the last year of his contract that his best days are behind him, but he has a decent availability record & with rumours Conway (almost certainly) & Cornick (possibly) could be off this summer he’s a useful experienced back up player.
  5. Interesting definition of “a bit different” someone puts a word on a T shirt. Literally no one is going to buy this stuff.
  6. That’s probably because of the role but for me (& it’s a forum, so it’s an opinion) he’s far better than either of these or indeed Paul Hartley, who was only here for one season & looked like time was catching up with him towards the end of it. The point made about Max Bird above is a good one, he’s certainly been brought in to replace one of James or Williams, we’ll find out who in May.
  7. Plymouth are a far bigger club. Huge catchment area, actual Championship standard ground & away support that unlike their myths, is very impressive. It is instructive that as you say, they are now seeing how hard it is & are in a real dogfight with the likes of Birmingham & Wednesday to stay up.
  8. They should study Rotherham, much more like them. Similar size club. Problem is this league they haven’t been in for 30 years is absolutely brutal, “small” clubs like those this joker quotes have decent players & money they can only dream about. Rotherham did incredibly well to survive for the first time in six seasons last year, however they are getting hammered every week in their second season & on their way back down. Despite the local media false equivalence, Rovers are slowly dying, a ground that is shit, can’t afford to refurbish it, ageing fanbase that has no hope of getting the next generation of Bristolians to watch them. A slow death that I will really enjoy watching.
  9. They truly won’t give a **** but this is the bit of me that doesn’t want them to go up. I still think they’re a pretty arrogant lot, maybe not a couple who have posted on here, but for a side that bumped around in the third tier for 4 years lacking in any sort of humility. Mind you, for a sense of entitlement it’s hard to beat the Leicester fans yesterday, giving their team pelters at the final whistle.
  10. 100%. The other thing is if they didn’t have Ashton & his history with us, we would all be saying what an incredible achievement. They really didn’t spend that big last summer, they have gone toe to toe all year with 3 sides who possess a ridiculous advantage over the others & at present are in pole position in what now looks two from three to go up automatically. You can already hear the fans of the sides who get out of League One this season saying they’re looking to do an “Ipswich” next season, completely failing to understand this only happens around once every ten years.
  11. Time to put someone on ignore, I reckon.
  12. Yes we did. With a less biased referee we’d have had at least one penalty as well.
  13. I remember a certain podcast saying once that Alex Scott aside our midfield was a “mass of mediocrity”. Should have gone to Specsavers, Matty James is one of the classiest midfielders to play for us in the last 30 years.
  14. Don’t think he exactly inherited a great position but a terrible last week or so. Particularly in light of results elsewhere they’ve effectively down.
  15. What is the point of them? Absolute nothing club.
  16. Absolutely destined for the Prem. Denied us at least one obvious penalty, allowed Chowdury to commit three yellow card offences & still didn’t book him & couldn’t get the card out quickly enough for Wells. Vardy’s late one on Max was a booking every day of the week too. Rubbish.

    Twine

Let’s wait & see on that. Today’s result significantly increases the likelihood of Manning being in charge next season & it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he made signing him his number one priority.
  18. Mine too, outstanding. Didn’t shirk the physical side, quick & good on the ball. Pring was also excellent as were Dickie & James (as usual).
  19. Which is why realistically today is a free hit. Monday isn’t though. Interesting team, no idea of the story behind TGH not being involved at all, but by far the strongest squad we have had to select from in ages.
  20. Who as we both know, Noggers “went missing” on a regular basis when faced with Gerald..
  21. Heard Matty James say it lots, actually did so in the video when he signed for us. Ubiquitous.
  22. Tin hat on, I didn’t think it was too bad.. A word of advice for Liam Manning though, previous events strongly suggest that even if “Brian” is saying it was “only 6 games ago that we beat Southampton” you’re a total mug if you don’t realise that in the future he’ll knife you in the back to either save his own skin or climb the ladder..
  23. Yep, free country.
