  1. To be fair mate, sometimes I shout at the linesman instead..
  2. I see it differently. I think we have sold a fair amount of these to middle class families who are perfectly ok with only seeing around half the games for the cost of one adult ticket & so it looks half full a lot of the time. Night games in particular (especially if on the red button) must see about 30% not turning up for a variety of reasons. Our fan base is very different from the 90s now.
  3. That’s true but the ground is never as full as the number of ST sold. We have skewed these figures by the cheap additional ST for a kid but they make little impact on our cash flow. If I was in charge of marketing I’d be very interested in the number of full price ST we sell & if that falls then I’d be concerned.
  4. So would I. I never warmed to him but at times we were excellent under him. It did go very badly wrong with our insane transfer policy in the year leading up to the pandemic though. Wilson did stabilise the club, definitely played a lot of local youngsters but the progress in his last 2 years was glacial & his tolerance of an unprofessional drinking culture was shocking.
  5. So the good news was you only missed 10 minutes but the bad news was you only missed 10 minutes. I remember the Osman era & yesterday reminded me a bit of that, it was boring, I’m not sure we would have scored if they’d gone home & I was cold & couldn’t wait for the game to end. What an absolute self inflicted shambles we are, all thanks to the Lansdowns & Tinnion. As Alan Bleasdale once memorably said, the mafia of the mediocre.
  6. The goals & assists were pretty useful too. Criminally underrated by some of our supporters.
  7. I think it is slightly disingenuous to say Tanner, James & Bell aren’t always first choices, they have all been regular starters in a very thin squad. However that wasn’t why we lost yesterday the players available were good enough to get a result against a similar standard side. Spot on re Naismith, absolute waste of time. I didn’t think there was any possibility of further change this season but assuming we do lose at Ipswich, Swansea next Sunday is then huge because it looks highly unlikely we’ll get anything in the two games after it.
  8. Whatever you decide to do your health is far more important & I hope it works out ok for you. As I know from recent experience when this happens in your family everything else is suddenly far less important.
  9. Basically we’re like an even worse version of “Succession” aren’t we? JL is Connor Roy.
  10. Favourite bit was when he allowed the ball to go out for what he thought was a goal kick when it was very obviously a corner to us (which the ref then gave). I couldn’t work out if he thought he was still playing for us or he had a brain fart. Of course we did nothing from the corner..
  11. To be fair I think he did this under both LJ & Pearson too. We have Hogg, who seems completely invisible plus the mystery that is Kalifa Cisse, one minute he’s involved in the recruitment side, next he seemingly disappears then when NP gets the push he’s suddenly involved with the first team. I have absolutely no idea what he adds, never seen any footage of him running a session whereas it was fairly obvious Fleming & Euell both did.
  12. Who don’t employ sycophants & incompetents but people with a track record elsewhere. Said in another reply to @Harry Pat Mountain is the only person at the club now who has ever fulfilled his current role at another Championship club. Manning’s predecessor employed Rennie, Fleming & Euell, so not only Pearson but all of them had CVs you could look at & say they know what they’re doing. We are corner shop.

    Honestly

The same Weimann who has featured 7 times for a side in fifth spot (2 starts 5 as sub) & has 2 goals & an assist. Absolute insanity to think he wouldn’t improve our side, let alone a bench comprising kids, Cornick & Mehmeti.

    Mbude.

Thought I’d bump this. There were 2 occasions when he came on when he passed the ball back to a red shirt. Still looked absolutely no threat whatsoever but at least he didn’t look like a competition winner. See @Top Robin I can find a positive.. Still doubt he’ll make it with us or at Championship level.
  15. Completely lost interest ages ago, so handed it over to his son, who couldn’t be less capable of running a football club if he tried. Only bothered by real estate projects like the Basketball stuff now. When did he last speak to the media about us? Ages ago & then in Guernsey about how brilliant it was that we got a record fee for Alex Scott. Needs to sell up, now.
  16. He’s under pressure. I doubt very much we want to sack him but we have 3 games coming up around Swansea that it is highly likely we’ll lose. Today we looked like we didn’t have a plan & players who however limited were giving their all under NP were arguing with each other. He needs a result & him stating the blindingly obvious (we struggle to score goals, no shit) doesn’t exactly add anything to the conversation.
  17. All positive to me. A mediocre mid table team didn’t completely outclass us. Pretty sure that’s exactly how we were told it would work out when we made the managerial change.
  18. He was then on the bench v QPR.. Look, we’ll find out if Matty James doesn’t feature for us again, I just don’t think that is likely.
  19. Sounds bollocks to me. 11 games left so if he doesn’t feature again then I’ll believe it, but seeing as Manning said on Thursday that James was a doubt for today but he hoped he’d be back possibly by Tuesday, I doubt it very much.
  20. Pat Mountain was at both Wolves & Hull before us & there must be a good reason both Pearson & then Manning have kept him on. Only person at the club who has ever been employed in his current role by another Championship team. Not arguing about any of the rest though, a collection of mediocrities.
