One day you may begin to understand what concerns some of us have who have supported City for decades and for generations.
I have myself actually.

Do you truly believe all is well after two seasons where we have hit relegation form for a long period of the season? Will our luck hold for a third season? History sadly suggests it won't.
My point is that LJ and his staff have to up their game before the first game in the autumn. Not necessarily promotion, although that was the target LJ set himself on arrival, but a balanced season ending mid table would do me.
A balanced season ending mid table would be worse than we have done so far this season!! What are you on?

Collapsed? We’re level on points with 5th place and still have a very realistic chance of making the play offs. 3 defeats in the last 12 games and unbeaten in five at home.
Not pretending for one second we are hitting the heights we were pre-Christmas, but would it kill you to find something a bit more balanced to say?
I don't think Ivorguy ever will. The club is suffering from rising attendances, improved league position and all round general progress, so evidently the owners should be investigated/thrown out and the coaching staff severely chastised. The bigger picture is an inconvenient thing on days when we drop points.

The two GKN Aerospace factories at Western Approach, Bristol and at Filton cumulatively employ about 1/3 of the companies' UK workforce; 484 in Bristol and 1454 in Filton. The two most important clients for GKN Bristol are BAE Systems and Airbus. I know this has little to do with today's match but it is a significant moment in the history of Bristol industry and it needs mentioning. GKN started life as the Dowlais Ironworks Company near Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales in 1759. Yesterday GKN, with 60,000 employees in 30 countries, was sold by a 52% shareholder majority vote to a hostile takeover predator named Melrose Industries formed in 2003. Their motto is 'buy, improve, sell'. Although, for once, a hostile takeover has taken place by a British based and run company it is essentially an asset stripper and jobs will inevitably go. Airbus, curiously, has already gone public by saying it will stop buying from GKN. That might be hard in the short term as there are few factories in the world with the expertise to build Wing Spars as they do in Bristol and GKN supplies BAE Systems which in turn supplies Airbus. It could get a bit messy. I hope the Gov't will not regret not stepping in to prevent a takeover on national security grounds. This would not have happened anywhere else in the world and is why Britain is the most open market in the world, for good and for bad.
Barnsley mined the coal that powered the iron foundries and made the glass. They may still make glass in Barnsley but Bristolians should be enormously proud of our industrial heritage past and indeed present. In fairness to Barnsley I did give them the benefit of the doubt with 30 minutes of research and found that they can indeed stand proud today as hosting the world's largest mince pie factory, oh yes. here it is:-
Next time you buy a box of 6 mince pies think of young Doris there quality controlling out the burnt or cracked top pies to take home to Fred for his tea. 720 pies a minute they make; how does she do it?
Or perhaps, when you next go over one of those very common pot holes in your Mini, your Jaguar, your Land Rover or your Volvo think of that GKN CV Joint that beautifully distributes power from the transmission through the axle and the CV Joint to the wheels and protects you and your car from the harshness of it.
Surely our manufacturing superiority will transcend into the DNA of our players today as they descend on Oakwell? Chien Lee took over Barnsley and thus ended the reign of the now sadly departed Patrick Cryne. Lee, from Hong Kong, is also 80% owner of Nice Football Club and partners part of the shareholding at Barnsley with Billy Beane of the Oakland Athletics Baseball team. Remains to be seen if they buy back the stadium and surrounding Oakwell sports venues procurred in 2002 by the council to save the club from going under. Of course, the kiss of death for City is to talk about the poor managerial record of Jose Morais; he may have assisted Jose Mourinho along the way at Chelsea, Inter and Madrid but as a number one its not great. Time will tell, but not today thanks.
Enjoy the drive up folks but enjoy it much more coming back. And remember GKN on that bumpy M6 and if it gets really bad stop at Charnock Richard for a mince pie and a cuppa tea.
Guest, Keen and Nettlefold. A lineup even SL couldn’t afford in the transfer window.

There may not be when you join but he mods have openly said in the past that any City fan gets banned automatically; you don't need to do anything beyond reveal yourself as being a City fan.
State that clearly the next time that you post and see what happens.
No thanks. It’s more fun to stay anonymous and add to the general grumbling with honest comments. That’s another point - on the whole, they’re not deluded, but as depressed and pessimistic as they deserve to be. There are decent people there, so it’s a bit like being the secret millionaire.

I can't say I've read every football forum but I have read many over the years and I have not come across a single forum that has a blanket ban upon all supporters of their rivals. Except for gaschat.
That reveals weapons grade insecurity. Please don't disagree with us because we have no answer to it.
They don’t have a blanket ban. There was no question about who you support when I joined!

Disappointed Kent not starting
You can’t realistically expect two young players to make their home debut together. Too much of a risk.

I expect we’re to blame for the state of the Mem too. Did we demolish a couple of fine stands?

Was this you , advising on the Memorial rebuild?
You could build the new East End over the car park, leaving the existing stands intact, over the course of the season whilst finishing our home games early on. Demolish the East End and shift/rotate the pitch in the off season. Then you have plenty of flexibility over the reconstruction of the other stands, with the option for improved tents in certain areas and/or expansion westwards. You'd probably replace the west stand last as you could feasibly turn this into an all seater with little work and perhaps not even improve this area in the short term.
No, definitely not. I’ve never been to the Mem, so couldn’t bluff that well.

The general rule is that Latin words adopted into English attract English plurals e.g. forums not fora. So addendums is fine.
Addendums is fine, but addenda is better (in my opinion.) Ditto referenda.
... and don’t start me on people not knowing that media is a plural word (of medium). So TV is a medium of communication, radio is a medium of communication etc, therefore the “media are” not the “media is”.

Sunderland 3 down, I have to say, I hope they go down because I can't stand Coleman. TalkSport made a big deal asking why Coleman went to Sunderland. Well, why the hell would Sunderland go for Coleman? He's a terrible manager.
Their forum is a cheery read at the moment!

Is there oil under the Mem?
Can they afford to drill for it?Followed up by - they thought they were buying a gasfield, not the Gas and a field.

Right, couldn't listen to GT and not read every relevant post so can someone put me right here.
1) They (the family) have a charge against the stadium to protect their interest.
2) They have interest building , but only being added to the loan
If this is right, won't they get to a point where the charge and interest becomes larger than the assets of the club and so makes it unfeasible to carry on, specially in the eyes of a Banker.
Edit:The original post was 'posted' too early sorry
That’s a good summary. I would suggest the Al Qadis have set the £10M limit on their overdraft/loan and are having to think very hard about whether to support future losses beyond the value of their security, at this very moment.

To be honest ES, whilst I am happy to take the proverbial out of Rovers and their supporters, I am not one of those who hates Rovers or even wishes them ill.
I shall indulge in a wry smile should they lose, much as I did when they lost at home to Mansfield on that fateful day back in, when was it again , OH, Yes, I remember, 3 May 2014 , but my thoughts will be more concentrated on how City get on at Hull.
Seriously, though, I sometimes despair when I read the bile and hatred directed at City and their Sheethead fans on their Gaschat thread, but I put that down to the immaturity of their posters, similar to the crass short-sightedness of their forum moderators who refuse to allow City fans to post and enter in to genuine debate about their respective teams.
It is of great credit to this forum and, of course, to the moderators that fans of other clubs are allowed to post freely and liven up numerous threads; indeed, there have been a few Rovers supporters who have added to lively debate with their genuine arguments and, increasingly often, their self-depracating humour.
They do allow City fans to register and post - just not knowingly!
I tend to favour the sweetly reasonable comment pointing out the various negatives. I’ve never claimed to be Gashead or otherwise. It’s quite fun joining in with the current moaning though.

Is it just me that thinks Hillsborough isn’t as good as Bramall Lane? It just seemed a bit tattered and run down when I went.
It was a leading ground, used for the 1966 World Cup and many FA Cup semi finals, but doesn’t seem to have been improved in 50 years.
