People can be glass half full or half empty. If we win against Barnsley and draw away to Birmingham we’ll be in a comfortable mid table position. Barnsley’s form over the last six games has been even worse than City’s and Birmingham only slightly better

(By comfortable, I mean from a points perspective, not the quality of the performances)

Completely agree, I am usually glass half full and would say beat Barnsley and Birmingham then go to Cov with renewed confidence. Thats what I hoping for anyway.

What did you expect under NP?

Just improvement, top half finish, maybe challenge for play offs.

Otherwise what was the point in sacking the previous manager?

Lose the next two and it’s going to get sticky….

Lose the next 2 then a tricky trip to Coventry. We will be in a relegation battle which is not what I expected under NP.

This is my other one. I remember this like yesterday. The atmosphere was one of the best.

My first proper away game aged 12. I had been to Eastville a few times but as that was just down the road i dont really class it as an away trip.

Being12 on the packed terracing i cant say my view was brilliant but the atmosphere was fantastic.

I remember the coach stopping at the services and it just bouncing with red and white scarves.

if they are the best available then fair enough, if not it’s just a tick in a box exercise which i rather feel it is.

I'm sure they are good enough else they wouldn't get the gig, lets face it some of the male officials aren't brilliant. The only way they will improve is to officiate at the highest level.

Who knows it may stop the disrespect usually shown to male officials.

Good luck to them and lets hope every decision is not investigated under the microscope because they are women.

............except the one that counts the most!

P.S. Of course we re all delighted with a point, but as @GrahamC pointed out, they should be that good , what with having parachute payments and spending more in the summer than the rest of the championship put together.

It is hard to believe we are the same team that finished last season so badly. I suspect that many were genuinely worried that Pearson was unable to stop the rot, let alone turn things around after his arrival last season. He’s seems to be making a pretty good fist of proving those fears were ill founded.

I suspect we will have a few hiccups along the way, but also have a funny feeling that we could be pleasantly surmised by how this season pans out.

The only stat that counts is the one which read 1-1

You can out play, out pass or out tackle a team, you have to out score them to win.

Glass half full we are 8th and only a win outside the top six COYR

So Sky, BT etc waive the money they’ve paid to broadcast the games and allow them to be aired free of charge or will the clubs give the money they’ve received back? Clubs should also not charge to stream games and waive that money as well?

    How would this work?

The same way it did at the end of last season.

SKY & BT never showed every game so the ones they weren't going to show they could do for free.

As i said it would be a good gesture.

  8. As we approach the 2nd lockdown, peoples lives turned upside down. Can't play football, go to the gym, play golf, go to the pub, go to Cabot to look around the shops. Many back on Furlough, worried about their jobs, the future, their health.

What a nice gesture it would be if the Premier League, EFL, Football League got together and agreed to show free to air games on the TV (BBC / ITV)

Even nicer a gesture from the club in these strange times - free streaming of games.

Won't happen but could give good PR if it did.

    Stay safe

So with the government saying that they would be looking to open up stadiums to around a third of capacity from October, that’s roughly 8,600 allowed into AG.
There are likely going to be other rules around concourse size and family groups being allowed to sit together but on a basic level that’s what we are going to have to work with.
I wonder if the amount of season tickets sold pre lockdown means we can accommodate all current season ticket applicants/holders, with some sort of buy back scheme for those who can’t attend/ don’t want to attend certain games? Or if we have already sold into double figures and someone is going to miss out. Lots of thinking for the club on this one. Let’s hope they make the right decisions with a nice early (well thought out) decision/communication.

Club in a no win situation. However they decide to allocate the limited capacity there will be plenty who moan as it does suit them.

Its a crap situation so just accept you're probably not going to get exactly what you want.

Exactly, the official search was called off a week or so ago the latest search was being run by Sala's family so they've achieved their objective, you wouldn't expect them to look for the pilot

I thought there was a fund set up and in the first few days over £300k was raised - could be wrong though.

    Yes I do

I think the identity of the one found is irrelevant

and to think otherwise , I have to say a very bizarre , and discourteous , thought or belief

I may be cynical but on this I have to disagree with you.

Anyway, to be arguing over this or anything else surrounding the death of 2 people is as you rightly say discourteous and probably upsetting for those involved directly.

    Understand your sentiments

But grossly unfair , even if they have ‘called off the search for the pilot’

If the pilot is not in or the vicinity of the wreckage (Bearing in mind they have been using remote drones to look) where do you suggest they search ?

Lets hope the currents and tides bring the pilot to be found

Do you think they would have called the search off if the body had been identified as the pilot?

I don't know where or how they would look as I'm not an expert but it just seems wrong.

  13. What I found truly sickening this morning was the news on BBC 1 that the body had been identified as Sala and the search for the pilot had been called off.

We should all remember there were 2 people on that plane 1 cost £15m one didn't but the families loss is still the same.

  14. Agree with you 100% - unless the Board has someone lined up with a proven track record of taking young inexperienced players to the top I fear we're going to struggle very badly for the rest of the season.

We are struggling now so we won't be any worse off. I didn't particularly think SOD should go now, i did think that a few weeks ago, but have you not been looking at the league table this season. As the e-mail states the league table doesn't lie and we have been in the relegation zone most of the season.

I have no ideal who will be the next manager and most of the names suggested do not inspire me at all but it wasn't working under SOD and the board have been brave enough to act early enough to give whoever comes in time to avoid relegation.

Like someone else has already said only time will tell if this was a wise move or not. I hope it is.
