  1. Think he will end up in the Bundesliga. Still 29 and an international player, can't see him or his agent agreeing to take a massive wage cut to stay here when he could still get a decent wage elsewhere. Would be a different situation if he was 32/33.

Only one problem with the ticket on your phone for me,there have been a couple of times when I’ve left my phone in the car, having had to park about 15 minutes from the ground,so 15  minutes to the ground,15 minutes back to the car and 15 minutes back to the ground, not a mistake I’d want to make more than once,I’d be knackered.

but that equally applies to leaving your wallet with your season card in the car or at home - people generally have their phones on them - I know I have left my wallet at home but still had my phone. I am sure the club will still offer the print at the stadium option if you dont have your phone on you like they do now for a small fee.

Six Academy players have signed their first professional contracts as the club continues its ambition to develop players for the first team.

Left-sided forward Elijah Morrison has signed a two-and-a-half year contract, while goalkeeper Josey Casa-Grande and forwards Kai Churchley, Marley Rose and Olly Thomas have two-year deals – all to the end of June 2025 – and striker Callum Hutton one year.

With an average of six players from the Academy in the senior matchday squad this season and a combined 232 appearances – including a full debut for midfielder Omar Taylor-Clarke recently against Swansea City –  the club are benefitting from the club’s highly-regarded pathway.

Technical Director Tinnion said: “Congratulations to the six lads for securing contracts - they and the Academy staff have worked hard to get them to this place. Now the challenge for those players is to kick on and start knocking on the first door for that next opportunity.”

    JOSEY CASA-GRANDE

Welsh-born seventeen-year-old goalkeeper Josey grew up in Newport, where he played for the Exiles before joining City at Under-11 level. He has part of successful Under-21s team currently second in the Professional Development League Two, trained with the first team and also had work experience with Larkhall Athletic and Keynsham Town.

    KAI CHURCHLEY

Seventeen-year-old Kai was born and grew up in Cheltenham Town for whom he played at youth level before joining City at Under-16s level. A right-footed central attacking midfielder, he has scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists this season as part of the successful Under-21s team currently second in the Professional Development League Two. Brother Ronnie joined the Under-14s this season.

    CALLUM HUTTON

London-born Callum grew up in Caerphilly before signing for City’s pre-Academy at Under-7s. The 18-year-old right-footed attacker, who has speed and good finishing ability, has scored eight goals and provided two assists this season as a member of the Under-21s team currently second in the Professional Development League Two.

    ELIJAH MORRISON

Seventeen-year-old Bristol-born Elijah grew up in Bedminster and played for Bristol Inner City Football Academy before joining the Robins at Under-16s level in the summer of 2022. A left-sided player with speed, power and crossing ability, he has trained and travelled with the first team and was on the bench against Manchester City for the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round tie at Ashton Gate.

    MARLEY ROSE

Bristol-born 18-year-old Marley grew up in Whitchurch and had spells with Southampton, Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers before joining the Robins at Under-16s level. A right-footed midfielder with an ability to dribble and cross, he has had spent time on work experience with Bath City this season.

    OLLY THOMAS

Born in Bristol and raised in Bradley Stoke, 17-year-old Olly played for Mangotsfield and South Gloucestershire before joining City at Under-16s. A right-footed quick and powerful attacker, he has had spent time with Bath City this season on work experience as well as training with the first team and was on the bench against Manchester City for the Emirates FA Cup Fifth Round tie at Ashton Gate.

Was genuinely unmissable back in the day.

listened to an interview with Helen Chamberlain a few years back, and she talked at length about the evolution of the show and basically said the growth of social media is what started their downfall. Tekkers, big tackle, third eye etc were all hugely popular, but they soon became stuff that everyone had already seen hours after it happened rather than the following week on the show.

A lot of change in the world too, so a lot of things done/said wouldn’t wash with the Sky execs as time went on too. I think when it dropped from 3 hours a show to 2 hours that was when the writing began going up on the wall.

Good article here from Max Rushden saying the same thing about social media

Rochdale and Falkirk;: not exactly Nike or Adidas then is it? Having said that, we really must get rid of the white sleeves, whatever brand it is.

But when we get an Adidas or Puma we get the generic template kits because we are not a top tier side? We end up playing in the same kit design as multiple clubs which is worse in my opinion which you can then buy unbranded on their website for a fraction of the cost!

At least when we had Bristol Sport/Hummel we can have input into the design and reading the above links and seeing the kits they have designed for other clubs it appears O'Neills will to

This is typical OTIB. Some people are writing off the new kit as awful before it’s been confirmed and anyone has seen it, if it even exists.

Yes, this isn't some noddy TFG company they have been going for over a century, the fact they have a decent website with a huge selection with it being in stock is a rarity for us!

They are already announcing new clubs they will supply for next season:

  7. The writing was on the wall from this point onwards when the suppliers went bust...

Supply is one of the main aspects of any kit contract - no point being a 'nice' brand like Hummel if they cant keep the club shop stocked, the club will realise how much revenue they lost over Christmas and opportunities like the Man City and want to rectify it as soon as possible, looks like other clubs have already jumped ship.

Didn't we sign a 6 year deal with Hummel?

I know there's been problems with their UK distributor and maybe that's been a clause for City to get out of the deal but in my opinion it would be a massive shame. Have loved the stuff Hummel have put out and they've been really happy to work with City on design and make it something individual.
