  1. That all depends on your perspective on who the football club is, if you think Bristol city holdings is the football club then we own the football club. That is also how it works for financial reporting purposes. Who do you think owns the stadium if it isn't us? It's not the bears, it's not Bristol sport, it's not any other sport team that SL owns.
  2. Because SL doesn't own HL, he owns about a 5% share now and is constantly selling to diversify. He also doesn't work there so basically has no control over decisions. How would the directors of HL justify that to HL shareholders, "sorry you can't have a dividend this year we've decided to sponsor Bristol City" the share price would crash instantly and they would all be sacked.
  3. How about boycotting showing it and not being part of it or is kneeling as much as the BBC can tolerate in support of racism/slavery issues. I bet Linkers pockets will be a bit fatter after the tournament while he's spent the last few years banging on about racism/slavery issues, he's basically now profiting from racism and slavery just second/third hand.
  4. Loads of competition at the moment from other players that are frankly better value. While HL sold itself on being low cost there are now platforms that are an even lower cost.
  5. Lucky he's only ever managed at really average clubs then ?.
  6. Different roles, LJ's job here was more like CF but with added overall responsibility for the squad, NP job (and I accept you didn't say NP explicitly) is more of a senior management type role trying to put in a framework for the club to work to. I personally think you get more out of someone like LJ at the sharp end but it all falls apart eventually, with NP you get a scaled framework than achieve different goals (staying up, going up, consolidation ect) but you maybe lose getting 2 or 3 percent out of each player on a match day because he's just not as close to it.
  7. While I agree that the quality of football has been poor relative to opposition for quite some time football as a whole has moved on massively in terms of professionalism, pace, skill ect. In comparison to others in the league at the same time though we won 7 games in 80/81, the only team worse than us were of course the sags.
  8. Using the same calculator but using the season ticket cost rather than the "standing" cost it's £219. Which is still a big gap but doesn't seem as bad, there's also lots of variables, quality of football, quality of stadium ect. Still seems steep. When you see loads of people at football wearing £200 jumpers and £600+ coats you tend to think there ain't a shortage of money flowing about, just doesn't seem to be in my direction.
  9. What do we do if only £13k buy a ticket at £200 because people aren't as motivated by the cost as you think?
  10. I think all the historical statistics point to the opposite, most people make the decision based on if they want to and then find a way to fund it making cuts elsewhere. I think we tried previously lowering ticket prices for games and you get a couple hundred but you lose out overall because the tickets are cheaper - I assume ST are the same. Good numbers, I guess what the club are playing with is will 250 people make the decision based solely on financial matters. If people are just fed up with the shit football we've been playing for the last few years then they won't be renewing if it stayed the same price. I think quality of football and atmosphere are bigger determinants than finance.
  11. Easy, make FFP exclude trampoline payments. Even with a points deduction Fulham would still go up!
  12. Finally winning at home is my champagne moment but my son was born on the same day so I'm somewhat biased.
  13. Rovers look at it and say "we're not playing Bristol City next week" every week for decades.
  14. My pet peeve in football, looks intricate and interesting but in reality is just lazy and easily defended. Players tend to use it when they run out of ideas.

Because we don't have the players. If I remember rightly a few years ago we had the best record in the league for conceding in the last 10 mins.
  16. I can remember when I was kid 20 or so years ago the only chance to get a players shirt was at the end of the season running on the pitch. Tinnion gave me his shirt only for some bloke in his 30s to snatch it out of my hands - still hold that trauma ?. If parents are worried about there kids being rugby tackled by a steward then don't encourage them to go on the pitch.
  17. What was the starting price? I was expecting somewhere and tree fitty so £2.45 seems reasonable.
  18. I don't think we're going to get a penalty ever again.
  19. So you're as inconsistent as our defence then ?.
  20. We can't afford the championship quality your probably thinking of on wages alone, if we sell our best young talent then we might be able to but that's like trading young hungry home grown championship quality for championship quality if we're lucky, not all transfer work out. If we do sell to cover losses with our record on recruitment I would rather buy the best from league 1 with something to prove rather than trying to buy championship quality. This has to provide better value and surely we have enough "championship experienced" players - we need to fill the gaps.
  21. The whole structure of SL cake is that he could cut a piece off to sell to someone else if he wants.
  22. Don't sell your computer, sell the mobile phone - these latest fads will soon die out, who wants to be contacted anytime anyway.
