  1. It's pretty damning but not even in the top 10 in the last 20 years IMHO. NP was clear that he was brought in to change the mentality of the playing squad. I would like to know if NP thinks he has had value out of the signing, if he has been able to change the mentality and players like Scott, Semenyo and Pring have been able to learn from him then it's probably good enough but what he has provided on the pitch (the bit we all care about) has been non existent.
  2. You need to remember that Gregor is trying to sell "news", he's not an investigative reporter he relys on contacts and producing as many articles people will open as possible, he doesn't really need them read really. He also isn't a city fan so he's probably about as interested in losing contacts to get a juicy story as you would be about a juicy story about somewhere like Shrewsbury.
  3. I just can't understand why people can't let people support the things they want to support. I'm all for debating it but booing in a crowd isn't a debate. If fans want to support Ukraine then great, I can't agree more. If Chelsea want to support RA for everything he has done for there club in the week he has said he will be selling the club then fair enough. If they are doing it to impact someone else's support of Ukraine then yeah what a bunch of dicks.

There are other groups that sing in the singing section (agree that the name name is cringey as hell) so they're not the only ones singing, there can be up to five or six different songs going on at anyone time in there and it's basically which ever song is sung the longest lasts and comes out of the corner. They have a bit of an advantage over other singing groups because of the drum to help keep time and the megaphone. They don't seem to hold themselves up as any kind of superfans or feel the need to impose that anyone else should be either, they seem to be there for the football a laugh and the atmosphere, if the football is shit there just as likely as anyone else to think **** it.
  5. Well the clubs finances are a mess, we need to sell players this summer to not get docked points for FFP (or P&S as I think the cool kids call it). None of those teams have a profit of near 20m disappearing off there FFP ledger with the costs of KP, JD and Kalas (the players we signed because of that £20m) remaining. Then there is the COVID losses of near £-37m that are going to be on our FFP balance sheet for the next couple seasons. All those teams came up after us except Preston - so we're all it different areas of the cycle, Preston never had a big sale so never waisted money but we have already and we are going to be constrained by it for at least a couple more seasons if we get our recruitment right, if we screw up our recruitment now then we're either getting points deduction and going down or getting the wrong players and going down.

I'm not part of the group so could easily get this wrong but from observations it's a group of about 8 lads the bring in things like the drum, megaphone, flags ect and work with the club to try and remove the barriers to creating an atmosphere at Ashton gate while also generally starting a number of the songs in the singing section. They fund there actions by selling things like Bristol City related badges, stickers and magnets, basically they do a hell of a lot to create a good atmosphere at Ashton gate. They stand in the singing section (just above the tunnel on the corner). The singing section is the whole corner as designated by the club (s24 through to S27 I think), which obviously attracts the few bellends we have that want to throw things at players, a few youngsters that need more education by the looks of things. I regularly stand about 5 rows behind the S82 lot and they are lively and excitable but never seen or heard then cross the line, they seem really approachable TBH.
  7. We need to get rid of a lot of dross that doesn't need to leave and if they do will involve them taking a pay cut (so ain't going to happen). We need quality for bargain prices which I see very little evidence of us being able to achieve. Anyway I think that's enough of all this positivity, time to look forward to playing Shrewsbury in a couple seasons ??.

Then they are ignorant and are blaming a group that does a great amount to create atmosphere at Ashton gate for something they have no part of. Imagine if the club officials started thinking like this, imagine being part of the section 82 lot trying to approach the club to do a display or something else and the club officials think you're in anyway attached to throwing stuff at players, clarity is required!

Can I be clear that the section 82 lot haven't thrown anything and as someone who stands just behind them they looked pretty astonished and deriding of whoever did it. All the objects thrown have come from the dolman side of the singing section. You need to differentiate between section 82 and the wider singing section.

Throwing stuff at players is really the height of idiotic. What makes people think this is acceptable / fun / banter / off-putting - whatever they think it is it isn't it's just stupidity of the highest order.
  11. And that's the catch 22, give Pearson all the money to replace the sold players and we get a points deduction or don't replace them and surely get relegated with the players we have. The reality is going to be treading a very fine line between both those situations and hoping neither happens but seeing how the club has been managed in the past we're more likely to sell the players, buy a load of dross, get the points deduction and still get relegated.
  12. That's not what the league says. At the moment Reading, Barnsley, Peterborough and Hull are still worse than us. If you don't include the points deductions then we would be 4 points ahead of Reading with them having a game in hand. What happens when 3 of them get relegated and are replaced by say Rotherham, Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday fresh with confidence off the back of a promotion?
  13. It's next season I'm worried about!
  14. Bar a few it's almost like we have a whole squad that's only able to play at top end championship level for 20 mins, they then seem to be able to play bottom half championship football for about 60 mins and then it's 10 mins of conference level football. Why we can't sustain decent levels is beyond everyone I think, I can't see how anyone can coach that out, it's not mental. As far as I can tell it's just the type of players MA/LJ went for, I assume with the thought that we could get better value and LJ could coach them into some consistency which obviously failed.
  15. His club interview does touch on him admitting it's his responsibility which one again he is spot on with no BS. So I'm not happy but I am glad he didn't put it all on the players.
  16. Although I'm arguing for NP on the match day thread and I thought his post match interview was agreeable as always I would have liked him to acknowledge that he got some things wrong today. Considering he said recently he takes the blame for playing players out of position there was nothing today to say playing Bell at right back was a bad decision.
  17. Do you want to hear that we're not good enough, I know I don't! Can't coach/manage the players at what we're bad at - we need different players.
  18. At least it's attached to reality which isn't what we got under previous managers.
  19. As someone who is completely ignorant what's wrong with smooth flow? Maybe I should start with what is smooth flow?
  20. Just watched the advert for it, the film is basically that the ref doesn't give a goal and a fan looses it and kidnaps the ref to get him to say it was a goal. It's a logical link to make considering our history but I can't bring myself to watch the whole film, it looks awful.
  21. If the Russians aren't all over both mainstream political parties in one way or another I will be very surprised. Politicians are always looking for money to fund there next great campaign and why would the Russians risk picking a team when they can pick both teams and win either way - the whole system is rotten not just the Tory party.
  22. Maybe this is my challenge with the whole thing, I'm not sure what the justification is for being on the list. Is it anyone that's had business dealings with VP or the Kremlin in the last 20 years? is it just Russians? Some have had sanctions but not all sanctions for anyone with links in the last 20 years would probably be in the hundreds of thousands of people. RA distanced himself from VP quiet a while ago if I remember correctly, part of owning Chelsea was that it gave him a social profile that meant VP couldn't easily kill him without ramifications. What I see happening is everyone knows RA because of his ownership of Chelsea so they focus in on him but what about people like Gerhard Schroeder, are we siezing his assets? for those that don't know he is a German politician and ex chancellor who has done extremely well out of being right at the centre of nordstream 2 now has a seat on the board of Gazprom and has in the last 5 years been on holiday with VP. Are we going to go after the assets of German politicians, that's going to cause some problems!
  23. There is media hype and a spotlight around RA that isn't around others that have done well from links to VP, i can't be only person seeing story after story containing his name. If you're all for stripping assets from people who have ties to evil people then what does that mean? The example right now makes sense but what's the precedent that doesn't turn us to potential tyranny? Can you give some more examples, should Tony Blaire be stripped of his assets for links to Gadaffi? Was Tony Blaire evil, I've certainly heard him described that way, as he has links to everyone in the labour party should we be asset stripping the lot of them - because that's a road to tyranny!
  24. I thought I was quiet clear, I was not talking about the media coverage of the war being hyped! RA seems to be getting sanctions imposed through social pressure and politicians wanting to score points rather than anything to do with a due process and evidence, as soon as there is evidence that he is involved then it makes sense. Don't get me wrong he almost certainly has it coming to him but what are the rules so we can all make sure we don't fall foul of them?
