  1. Sell the lot of em I say. Bulldoze the gate and build flats. sorted…. And we’d finally have loads of money….!!!!
  2. It seems so, yes. My suggestion for VAR is that the referee can request it like in Rugby and Cricket. If a player wants to ask for VAR when he believes a decision was wrong, he can request it, under the threat of a yellow card for time wasting if the original decision stands. He would need to be absolutely certain in order to request it. I think that would stop a lot of cheating and diving - plus allow the game to flow.
  3. I’ve said before on a number of VAR related threads that VAR could be an asset to the game if it was applied properly. It’s unpopular because we apply it wrongly.
  4. No I don’t. I think it’s Neanderthal, tribal nonsense and brings the club and the game into serious disrepute. However, if you’re attacked by a bunch of idiot opposition ‘fans’ then you’re involved - you have little choice but to fight or run. You won’t talk your way out of it and to the neutral and the press you will appear to be just as guilty.
  5. I thought Pring did ok. Overall I thought we played really well. It never looked like we were a division below Forest. In fact, they looked pretty ordinary. The lack of goals is the elephant in the room though. I thought that yesterdays game was as if both the goals had been removed from the pitch!!!
  6. He’s a VERY big lad now is mr Beadle!
  7. All matches are here. -you just need to be patient with the ads. http://www.fawanews.com/
  8. Got mine and Mrs R&Ws - plus our son and his GF - all in the upper Lansdown. The future daughter IL comes from a lineage of plastic Man Ure fans who only watch their team on Sky, so I’m hoping we put in a good shift and convert her into appreciating proper football!! Anyone know if it’s free beer again this Friday?
  9. Thoughts and prayers are with you on this one Nick - keep fighting fella …. edit - I hadn’t seen how old this thread was - great news !!!!!!!!!!!
  10. There were similar chants coming from the East End corner of the South Stand involving bubbles. I suppose those are less inflammatory because bubbles wouldn’t be as painful as tractors I suppose
  11. I should have been in S26. The stewards wouldn’t let me in - they said it was ‘too full’. They were right - there was no way I could have forced my way through without causing a fight, so I went back down and found a ‘club’ steward (wearing black) - he was brilliant and said he would find me a seat - or if he couldn’t then he’d let me into the Heineken Lounge. After a few conversations on his radio with colleagues, he led me to the middle of S23 where there were 2 spare seats. Met up with the Mrs at half time for a (free) beer (she was in the Dolman) and then we watched the second half together from S23. It got sorted in the end, but it should t have happened in the first place and I’m annoyed that I missed the goal.
  12. We were in the bar closest to E33 in the Dolman.
  13. Me and Mrs R&W did!! I heard a rumour the beer was free but I laughed it off - I thought it was a wind-up. it wasn’t. We got 2 pints of Heineken and when I tried to pay the barman told me the tills were broken so just take them away!!!! Cheers!!
  14. I’m now sorted - thanks to a very kind poster on here. Game on!!!
  15. Weird - I was told very soon after 2pm that it had sold out !!!!
  16. I bought my one members ticket but was not allowed to buy the second members ticket (as explained above) - I was camped on the website and the phone queue waiting for 2pm hoping I’d be able to buy the wife’s ticket on general sale. At 2pm the website came unworkable slow and at about 2:05 the telephone queuing message came on telling me it had sold out and bumped me back to the initial menu. At 2pm when they went on general sale there were only about 100 tickets left……….
  17. Long shot but if anyone has a spare ticket for sale please PM me. My wife and I are both members, but I found out today that both memberships are in MY name, which meant I could only buy one ticket. I was on the phone queue for 90 minutes and then cut off when it sold out. If anyone finds they can’t make it then I’d be really grateful if you could bear me in mind. Of course I’m aware there will be loads like me, so I’m not holding my breath - it’s a very long shot!!
  18. I had one of those footballs and loved it. I lived opposite my local primary school and me and a few mates would go into the playground and play football at the weekend when the school was closed. Ah the 70s - City in the top flight, plus some decent music around back then too!!
  19. Happy New Year from Edinburgh!! Health and happiness to all
  20. Every manager has contributed in their own way on the Bristol City journey. Sacking Pearson and appointing Liam was a big gamble and I admit I was very concerned, but right now the signs point to wards it paying off. Of course there are a lot of games ahead so it’s early days, but I’m really enjoying the football again and the last 3 games have contributed to me and my family having a great Christmas. I really hope we can carry the momentum on into January. COYR
  21. I seem to have reopened old wounds by mentioning those offsides! My point was 50 goals is great for him, but he would have been credited with even more if it wasn’t for poor officiating.
  22. That Villa game in particular was a refereeing disgrace. LJ received a written apology from the referee’s association. Ah well that’s ok then. Villa won the game they should have lost. Who knows what might have happened if we’d taken those (deserved) points. I think Andi was simply too fast for the officials - they assumed he mush have been offside because they couldn’t believe anyone could run/react so quickly.
  23. Not to mention all those perfectly good goals he scored under LJ which should have stood but were wrongfully ruled out for offside - about 10 - so rightfully he should be on more like 60. Top professional and I love the guy. Always gives 100% and I’m delighted for him getting his goal today.
