It’s not the players’ fault that the manager is getting his tactics & selections wrong though. “Supporters” cheered when Andy King went off injured today, there’s no excuse for that.  The displeasure should be directed where it’s deserved.

But they weren't cheering the fact that King was leaving the field, it was a message to Pearson who was forced to change the positioning and selection.

I agree, whilst I’m as frustrated with Pearson as much as anyone I thought as well as the poor atmosphere from the kick off, the cheering of an injured player going off & the booing of the players as they were showing their appreciation to the supporters at the end by some of our, so called, “fans” was totally wrong. I’m not saying people shouldn’t criticise but direct it where it’s deserved.

Not a flippant question, but who is that and what is the correct way to express our displeasure to them?

For me it's simple. Serve up something that's worth watching and people will be happy. Serve up dross week, after week, after week and they won't be. One home win since August.

We have never, ever recovered from it. The defining game of the last decade.

Too true. You can even pinpoint the moment in the game. It was like a trap door opened underneath us.

A noticeable trend in Bristol City managers is that when they come full of either higher league experience and therefore higher pressure they typically fail. I think a lower league manager with not as much pressure, exciting football is the way forward to be honest.

But what about Millen, Tinnion, SOD (not a high end appointment in my eyes), Holden, McInnes, Smith, Lumsden - All crap.

Yet Cooper and Jordan didn't do too bad.

  5. West Brom weren't exactly ear splitting when we beat them up there earlier in the season while they were playing poorly. Today, their form has picked up and they were winning and they were noisy, funny that.

We've been generally shit for close on 5 years now. Even 1982 and all that didn't go on for this long before something good happened. We have won once at home since August including getting utterly embarrassed at home to Lincoln. I'm surprised people turn up at all let alone make a load of noise. What is there to be noisy about?

It's annoyed me more than our defeat at the weekend. Our fanbase must be the most reactionary bunch in the Country, or certainly up there.

I don't think people realise how big the job was that NP took on in February 2021. The whole culture within the club has to change i'm afraid, none of this getting upset over our manager being rude, none of this bedwetting over a narrow defeat to a club at a similar level to ourselves. The culture needs to change and reading Adam Baker's tweet - I am now glad he has left the building.

Agree with all of this with the exception of the fanbase comment. We're not even close to being the worst, I'm amazed how tolerant we've been and continue to be. 25/30 years ago the crowd would have been far more vocal in expressing it's displeasure.

There’s more to owning a business than just finance.

Absolutely. The club needs an injection of enthusiasm and drive.

Some match day presence and connection with supporters would go a long way too. We look like a club that's just functioning and nothing more. We need to look like a club that's functioning and means business.

  8. We've reached Christmas and that's one home win since August, including getting embarrassed at home to Lincoln in the cup. We know what happens to teams that don't win at home.

You can't keep serving that up to your home fans week in week out. A thumping at home to West Brom and Pearson could be for the chop, but then again are the money men interested anymore? Doesn't feel like anyone cares what happens and they are taking me down with them.

    Ruth Madoc aged 79

Sad indeed. As a youngster I loved watching Hi-de-Hi, still makes me laugh now, especially the awkward moments between Gladys and Jeffrey Fairbrother. I also remember watching the entire Hi-de-Hi cast in Dick Whittington (Ruth Madoc in the leading role) at the Hippodrome back in the early 80's and it was brilliant.

Brighton had larger crowds and turnover than us, but Brentford, Huddersfield and Luton all made the play-offs with less, or at least no more. Preston and Millwall have matched or out-performed us with less. Now we struggle to match Rotherham.

It's not how much we do or don't have, it's what the people making the big calls here do or don't do with what we have here. We're just poor at making the most of what we actually have at our disposal.

If you put Steve Lansdown at Brighton, and Tony Bloom came here, I don't fancy Brighton much, and I don’t see them where they are now.

Indeed. I do wonder if Steve even knew we played last night.

Really disappointed Dyche isn’t on the list.

I mean if we are going to seriously think Gerrard or Wilder would be interested then let’s go completely unrealistic.

Never say never. When they were temporarily housed in the Dolman Stand, I recall a Radio Bristol commentator assuring me that Pearson would never come here, well he did.

What will Gerrard do next? Will he just walk into a Premier League job, go back to Scotland? If not what's left for him, Championship or outside the UK? If any of those three want to stay in football, they may (like a lot of players) have to revise their expectations.

  12. I'd like him to stay, keep us up and rebuild some more in the summer. However, this is reminding me of one of those electric car tests, will it run out of power before getting to the destination? I fear we'll get to a position in the league where he won't make it to the end of the season.
