  1. Very well said. Pretty much my thoughts exactly having watched City since 1957 and am still to get over 1990.
  2. There is only one derby mate and it’s not Cardiff, Swansea or Swindon. I suppose those teams could be classified as rivals. We haven’t had a Bristol derby for years and I’m happy for it to stay that way.
  3. I don’t think James had had too many better games for us than he had yesterday. Passed the ball well and made a couple of excellent tackles.
  4. Do you think so. I don’t.
  5. Pring today? Brilliant along with Vyner and Tanner.
  6. Absolutely first class game by Zac today. Well done mate.
  7. Dear me Dave I wholly respect your view but the bar must be set very low. Any forward momentum or closing down went out of the team when CM came on. Surly you could see that.
  8. Just listened to the 3 Peaps in a podcast review of the Reading game. In my opinion the views expressed by the contributors were broadly similar to that expressed on FBC. Spoke at length about our pitiful set piece delivery, shocking defending of set pieces, our dreadful lack of positive consistency of performance or progress under Pearson and comparisons with other clubs similar to ourselves. After listening to 3 Peaps I believe that perhaps FBC should no longer be considered the outlier for perceived negativity (I believe it to be realism not negativity) when discussing and reviewing City games.
  9. Blimey based on the responses I’m surprised anyone bothers to listen to the podcast. For what it’s worth I enjoy listening to it and must be the only one.
  10. IMO we afford Pearson to many excuses. He gets a free pass despite the poor quality of performances and dreadful overall win ratio. Would you say that generally our performances since the international break are bottom 3? 7 points from 7 games suggests that to me. And 7 points from the last 9 games definitely is bottom 3 form.
  11. Would you say the same about the likes of Luton, Millwall, Preston, Swansea? If these types of clubs have stand out players better than ours then you have to wonder why. I know let’s blame Ashton and Johnson rather than look at the current management. Let’s face it we are much too inconsistent and too easy to play against, that has to be down to the current tactics and coaching.
  12. So if performance continue to be generally poor and we are in/near the relegation we just shrug are shoulders and put up with it do we? Pearsons win ratio doesn’t suggest to me that he is up to the job or knows what he’s doing (example the 3 subs yesterday and then bringing King on, expecting him to influence the game).
  13. Vyner has been one of our most consistent players this season. Always good to have a scapegoat though.
  14. Don’t agree. There is a group of people at Ashton Gate whose job it is to plan for the future, that should include having a plan if the manager leaves or is sacked. As a fan I can say what I want but it’s irrelevant. We have a very narrow view of who might be available or achievable. I’m not advocating it but for years Watford have changed their manager sometimes several times a season. It hasn’t done them much harm. I wonder how many of their fans would have predicted their managers. Prior to their Premiere League promotions they were a club of similar size as us.
  15. Game had a 0-0 written all over it until Stuart Monroe (I think) passed back to Welchie. We all watched in horror as the ball bobbled over his foot and trickled into the net.
  16. To be fair it was like the Alamo. God knows how we managed to hold on for the win. That season we often found a way to win whatever the performance.

    Cam Pring

Just as well give him a run of games. After all he can’t do worse than **** up every cross.

    Weimann

Weinman has reverted to his pre last season form which unfortunately appears to be the reality. That’s pretty much it.
  19. I don’t get this can’t change the manager bollox. Watford for example change their manager at the drop of a hat and have had several promotions from our division. Frankly Pearson has been crap with as bad a win ratio as most any manager we have had. He’s had long enough and if you don’t change something then nothing will change.

    Worried ?

Worried you bet I am. Frankly we are nailed on bottom 6. And the trouble is that may easily be bottom 3.
  21. In my opinion Preston and Millwall are pivotal to our season. The confidence must be low after 1 point in the last 5 games. Positive results in the next 2 games will obviously improve it (and out points total) but poor performances and defeats and confidence will be rock bottom.
  22. Do you ever ask yourself why you bother to listen to the FBC podcast? For me it best represents my views so I listen to every episode. They are just passionate city fans, of very many years, like us who are expressing their views. If you don’t agree with them so what. It’s all no big deal really, don’t bother to listen. By the way I wish I could be as balanced as you are about the club I love and have been watching for 65 years.
  23. Mid table? Before the season started I considered us bottom 6. Problem with bottom 6 it could be bottom 3. I think 50 points plus may be required to stay up this season as there is no Derby, Peterborough or Barnsley. I don’t think any of the current bottom 4 will go down (possibly Huddersfield?) and it’s not obvious who will finish below us. Perhaps Rotherham, Wigan, Blackpool, Hull but there’s no one nailed on like last season.
