What I object to about Mr Lansdown's tenure is this.

Bristol City used to be its own football club with its own ground and no debt.

    It is now just a sub-section of a Land-based, Multi-sport, Property-development, Profit-motivated, Speculative Franchise.

If multiple revenue streams are generated to help the club have a chance of being able to sustain itself, this could put us ahead of many other clubs who do not have such an advantage.  The old Ashton Gate was much loved and the East End was wonderful, but we have moved with the times and now have top class facilities that will benefit fans and club for years to come.  The one thing the Lansdowns could do to sustain their legacy is to buy the Gas and turn their stadium into a memorial garden and crown green bowling centre - at least the Bristol public would see a nice bit of lawn where none has ever existed before.

I agree with your first sentence. You are missing the fact that Nigel took over in the middle of a huge injury crisis that denied him the availability of many of his best players. Since then we have had to reduce the wage bill and squad and this will need tweaks over the next few windows as some of our exceptional young players also find their feet at the Championship level - which is very physical, fast and difficult.  Maybe this is the time to support and get behind the team and Nigel. They know the issues and are trying to fix them - hopefully your positive support can help the process.

  3. We would go a long way to solving our end of game weakness if the forwards came back and helped to stop so many crosses coming into our box.  The out ball to slow forwards is a recipe for creating more pressure on our own defence as the ball then keeps coming back and stays in our half.  Maybe the return of Semenyo will help. His extra strength and pace may well help to stop conceding the ball every time and threaten teams who try to push everyone into a siege on our goal in the last quarter of every game.

as it stands today this is a massive project. we need a Director of football. The manager situation is up in the air. To many rumours about nigel. is he coming back is he not. Get well soon nigel.

It may be a while before Nigel is fully back up and running. Having recently recovered from a nasty dose of COVID I can relate to the fact that there are still days when fatigue is a huge issue followed by better spells. He must be given the time he needs. W would expect that he is still on the phone to all in the club about transfers and the like.  As we are cash strapped, the last thing we need to do is overload the payroll with more expensive people in suits. Be patient.

  5. One feature of player development has often surprised me is the improvement that young players can make during the time when the season ends until the next one starts.  We have a good number of exceptional young players who, if they improve by next season and the season after that, could be top Championship players and a good foundation for building a promotion worthy side.  With a few thoughtful additions, we might surprise a lot of people.  Of course, we have to avoid relegation this season - and that may need some heroic recruitment in January. Key to our progress may be recruiting players who will end up being part of the long term squad and not just stop-gaps.

  6. He made at least one cameo appearance in the pre-season friendlies. Very tall but looked a bit ponderous.  Did not look close to being a first team player yet. Still young though, plenty of time to improve and learn how to use his main assets.

There's a sub text here....."If only I'd taken good financial advice, I would have been able to retire gracefully and follow my personal interests, instead of pimping myself out for peanuts and pushing my already wasted body and reputation beyond the point of no return."

At the end of life, there may well be a choice of Heaven, Hell or Purgatory.  This does not look like Heaven - so the real question should be: Is in Hell or Purgatory?
