Ah yes, I was getting confused with the one where Matt Bryant got sent off and Leroy Rosenior played centre half.  This was the one where we got drenched in the open end!  Thanks for the highlights!

 I remember that game clearly, my word did it ever rain. Chap next to me was moaning that he'd decided not to buy a seat in the main stand, which was £3 more. He had half the stand pi$$ing themselves when he said:

"£3!!! I'll spend more than that on Pneumonial tablets!!"

    Logic flawed…

    Boring…

    Really because I am right.

I am not scapegoating him we won.

Pre judged comment partly true that’s because he is a disgrace every time he plays.

Was he better yesterday - No

Never said fact it’s clearly just an opinion.

Its just happens to be right based on facts. The facts are watching him play and then applying my brain processing skills based on my knowledge of watching football.

That tells my he is ‘below the standard that this club needs to progress, tell me I am wrong - Silence…

Then he ain’t good enough so stop talking rubbish.

    Are you related to Trump?

Let's see what the final figures are first, and do Germany count the deaths exactly the same way we do? if not the figures may well be more comparable like for like. I mean death for any reason in the last month if they had had Covid even those killed on the roads or who were in their late 90s. And before you jump down my throat I believe the government have made a lot of mistakes but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

The government were literally warned about this by not one but two major incident exercises. That's not saying other countries haven't got things wrong - they have - but to say our errors are all down to 'hindsight' isn't correct.

The point about death rates is a good one, although the fatuous RTC example is nonsense - the death certificate wouldn't mention COVID if you'd been squished by a bus; no more than it would mention asthma, or diabetes.

To be fair most have made mistakes. We made massive mistakes at the start, Germany have faltered with vaccines.

They are on 73k cases at the moment per day, we are on circa 50k.

The Germans soon caught us up on vaccines. And their case rate has been very, very low compared to ours, then shot up - ours has been around 40k per day for weeks.

They were really decisive when it came to securing vaccines weren't they??. When we were 75% double jabbed they were just about getting going and that why they are suffering now. Also when their fantastic  government decided to spread doubt over the Astro Zeneca vaccine to deflect from their failure to secure supplies fear spread leading to poor uptake rates, which they still suffer from today.

Sorry but you got this one very wrong

When were we "75% double jabbed" when they were "just about getting going"?

And I think you'll find most of continental Europe has overtaken the UK in vaccination rates.

Baroness Casey makes clear it was only a minority of England fans involved in violence and illegality, and that conclusion is echoed in every story I've read about her report.

Nonetheless, we can't play down the scale of the problem that evening.  My sister-in-law and her bloke go to virtually every England game and they said they'd never seen anything like it. It was a throwback to the bad old days of the 70s and 80s, but with added cocaine.

It is always - and was always - only a minority who caused bother. Thankfully.

I think the point made in the report about treating really high-profile games as a separate level of risk is probably right - it transcends the 'normal game' rules, becoming something beyond the boundaries of the sport. No doubt the same happens with other mass events.

And there needs to be more done outside grounds - sounds like it was absolute bedlam in the approaches to the Stadium.

Still, I read the Guardian, what do I know? ?

You've just made things up that I haven't said. The News want to sell headlines and by making out in came near to deaths it certainly does sell and grab people's attention.

I didn't say that the actions of a minority wasn't disgraceful, but I get the sense the News and the journalists just love this - another way to put down those god awful English football fans.

You also mention the Scum, Daily Heil. I assume you mean The Sun and Daily Mail - Both I also ignore. :)

You specifically said "The Guardian" were lying.

And "The News" were literally quoting an independent expert's report. And doing their job - to report news.

As for "God awful English football fans", I didn't say they were England fans. Or even football fans. But hey, it's me making up things you didn't say...

I don't think anyone's talking about making him an automatic starter: he isn't challenging Martin, Weimann, Wells or Semenyo for the first XI.

I just wonder if he couldn't give us a sub option when we want a young player, who can go up front, play without fear and have something to prove. We already sit U23 players on the bench, and if LB scores more than them in those games, it's just possible he should be the young player there.

It's not like we're knocking in a lot of goals this season.  Which is why I wonder if sending the lad on loan is the right thing to do.

No, I totally take your point, but similarly, it's a lot of responsibility and expectation precisely because we're not scoring - if he tries, and fails, that could ruin him.

Better to let him work his way up to Championship standard. Then he'd be ahead of pretty much all our players...

Yeah, I totally believe everything The Guardian say - I bet the journos were delighted Italy won.

Well, I just listened to the news and they said the same thing. However, no doubt in your mind it's all made up and every person there that day was a gentle, kindly salt of the earth types who wouldn't hurt a fly.

Because the Guardian lies. Whereas the Scum, Daily Heil, etc...

We are currently blessed with a knackered and misfiring line of strikers all woefully out of form.

We've sent the guy who has been scoring on loan to someone else.

    That's strange.

By the same logic, we should grab whoever's top scorer in the Downs league and put him up top

He's fit, just not 'nige levels of fit'

Seems crazy to loan out a previously free scoring striker, who has played lots of 90's for the under 23s when weve very real issues with options up front.

    One of the 'shirkers' perhaps?

    Anyhoo, strange one.

But there's a lack of real league experience. If he goes out and starts banging them in, great, but remember: when Tammy came here, he'd scored zillions in youth games, nothing in the real world. We took a gamble to some extent; it paid off. Often it doesn't.

"Brentford will wear 2021-22 home kit again next season"

In real terms I imagine it will still mean a new shirt every year. It will probably go back to Home one year, and Away the next.

It was bad enough when it was like that, by stealth it went 2/3 shirts every year.

Exeter do that - mind you, their kits are usually vile. Which is odd, because red and white stripes should be easy.

    Hi all,

In this week’s “The Knowledge” in the Guardian, someone asks for examples of games with very early goals that finished 1-0.

I am sure in the time  I have been supporting City (31 years) we won a game at AG with a first-minute winner.

    Anyone remember the match?

I can remember us losing at AG to Sunderland with a goal in the 3rd minute.

They're going down. And I cannot wait. Full of their own self righteousness.

Their last 5 games are 2 teams who will be battling relegation with them, 2 teams going for the title, and arsenal who will more than likely be challenging for the 4th CL spot. They'll be lucky to get 2 points out of an available 15. And they won't be safe before those fixtures come around.

At least they'll have a new stadium to enjoy playing Barnsley in

Yes, I think he is a very good player. Surrounded by a lot of average or below-average ones. Personally, I'd be doing all I could to keep him.

Trouble is, the brilliant young player we need is an 18 year old Gerry Gow*. Instead we have HNM, Scott and Benarous, who are less 'combative'.

*Maybe dialled back a little on the aggression, mind...

Oh yeah I wouldn't want it to sound like I don't use them or even have a problem with them - I have echo's, an Amazon TV and prime.

Prime TV is pretty shite but it's all slowly slowly catchy monkey with Amazon, they will continue to analyse watching patterns and figure out what people like and make it enough to keep people on the platform.

I can remember Sky in the early, early days...it was truly horrific, Prime is nothing like that. Some cracking shows on there, eg Bosch, The Expanse
