Not really sure while we're comparing apples with oranges here, is it that they both play CB, had occasionally shaky games, and are mixed race? Also important to note that, we signed Fontaine from Fulham at 20, and Vyner came through the academy.
Vyner stepped up, Liam wasn't able to. Fontaine left us 9 years ago, and there are so many variables. I'm not quite sure about the point of this thread, to be honest. Maybe I've missed something? -

Not out of contract til June 30th.
Could have signed a pre-contract agreement from January, really - but players rarely do this as it's most often not in their interest to do this.

Harry Styvars fan club is out in force today I see
The working eye and brain club are giving you a little pushback, which is more than merited.

Bit rich when you're clearly stealing oxygen from the rest of us.

I love that people are reacting as if Cam Pring wasn't playing at CB due to absolute necessity.

Me when I come into a thread about an emotive topic that requires OTIB members to use critical thinking.
I think I'll save myself the exposure to whataboutism on this fine Friday.- 2

I agree. Particularly around the recruitment aspect. Pearson is often cited by ex players as a great leader and a player people want to play for. He's arguably the biggest "name" we've had in charge since Joe Jordan and that is something we can now take advantage of after the years of austerity.
I would say that Coppell was arguably on par or a little bigger, although if you said "biggest "name" to stay longer than a few months" I'd have agreed

Hate to say it, but it's the kids who are singing it....
And where did they get it from? I don't think they emerged from the womb with a latent desire to express their views about the sexual proclivities and moral character of the current Bristol Rovers manager's mother - much less express this over a dirgy chant.

Agree that it's not big or clever and has no place in the 21st Century (much less around children). If people are so enamoured with the tune I'm sure the lyrics could be changed, like they were for Bradley Orr.

Got one ticket for E31 Dolman on Monday, no longer able to make it (just a print-at-home ticket I can send over). 34 quid face value but would take 20 quid.
Feel free to DM me on here.SOLD

Also the first Good Friday was not when Jesus was supposedly killed. It was much later and an invention of the Catholic Church to commemorate the event. The first mention in of it is in the middle ages.

I've thought it for a while now whenever he is asked in pressers but the most recent one made me really question it. How can he still be so far behind the others when he has had 2 weeks with no games.
Pearson said it is hard for any player who isn't playing games to be at the right fitness and that they have to work harder in training even though training isn't really suited for them and doing fitness stuff when there's lots of games as they do less, but we've just had 2 weeks with none. A perfect time for him to increase his fitness side of it.
Like I said, something just doesn't feel right. Hoping it's nothing and next year we se a fit Wilson challenging for the rb/rwb birth.
berth. I once made that mistake in an essay and got ripped for it!

Hand ball?
Was it yellow cardable or just to even it up?
It was one of those cynical tackles to stop a breakaway, at that point you just have to take the yellow.

I thought it was quite bright - we dominated but were sloppy and/or unimaginative in the final third.
I think it was relatively decent for playing on the South Bristol Salt Marsh.

Well done Harry Leeson, another lad getting match day experience, suggests that Wilson is seen as a more attacking right sides option if needed.
Another full-back also means that we could move Dasilva further up, with Tanner either going to LB (with Wilson/Leeson to RB) or CB (with Pring going to LB).

Ward Prowse is good but he's 28 and is probably at his peak, Alex will likely still improve. Quite different propositions. Ward Prowse may also have a relegation release clause, lowering the asking price.
For Brighton people are talking about 70 million EACH for Caicedo and Mac Allister (I don't think it will be this high) but I am sure they could afford Alex at 25 million, even without selling.
