Oh no no no. Dont you know he was picked because of his superior distribution to Bentley?? And apparently a better gk than Bentley too! ???

New No 1 GK required this summer please.

Might already be here in Haikin, hope he'll get some game time at some point. He was/is very well-regarded and a big part of Bodo-Glimt's success in Europe (and the league).

  2. The rotation is just smart squad management. We don't have anything to play for really, and it's a chance to give other people a game going into the international break. Mehmeti might be a little distracted ahead of his Albania debut, so that might be a reason to give someone else a go. Weimann and (presumably) Wells are also in their national squads so perhaps it makes better man management to limit their involvement so they can come back from the international break a little fresher.

Pigeonhouse is quite a nice stream, also Snuff Mills and Colliers Weir are quite pleasant.

Wouldn't personally recommend the Malago, though.

I can't think who… Tom Ritchie who was mentioned before was a bit before my time. I can't remember what Martin Woolford was like either.

Fammy was a bit gangly I suppose

Woolford was 6ft tall, hairband, winger, gangly and liked to go on a dribble and (usually) lose the ball. As I remember it, he could occasionally pull something brilliant out of the bag. Millen and McInnes years - I know a lot of people have blanked that out so don't blame you.

I think his gangly demeanour doesn’t help, he’s not a particularly neat player (I’m trying to think of who he reminds me of) but he’s doing ok so far, made some key passes and interceptions, works hard.

I think he’ll come good given time.

He reminds me of Martin Woolford, might that be who you're thinking of?

And even then you’d think it’s still highly unlikely.

Yeah I think Alex has his sights set higher than a yo-yo club, unless they make him promises about being able to be let go on the cheap if they get relegated or a club in European football want him - but I doubt someone paying 25mil would want to put those clauses in.

Shhhh…. You cannot come on here with positive posts as it doesn’t fit the agenda.

They must be awful, and the huge numbers of world wide sales of our replica shirts will leave everyone disappointed as a club like ours should have bespoke kits made by Nike or Adidas.

Or just, you know, break out the sewing machine and sew the badges onto the kits before sending them over. I don't think the kit looks crap, just that one element tbh.

I'm fairly sure that the club have confirmed that the current shirts being used are not what the final ones will be like. They were clearly rushed out to be ready in time. The final ones that are put on sale (and worn by the players eventually) will have silicon badges etc.

Not disputing this - I'm well aware they said they'll have a proper version soon. I'm just saying that it's been a few weeks, it can't be that hard to have a proper version of the home kit for playing staff at a minimum by now.

We played our biggest game in 6 years the other night in a prototype and yesterday's game on Sky in it. Looks pretty tinpot, to be honest.

Disclaimer: Not a doom and gloomer, I'm happy with the way the club is operating at the moment in regards to transfers, youth intake, manager etc.

I find that almost impossible to believe. I don't think any of the big 4 are in for him and any other team in the Championship will want him available straight away.

Who is going to pay 20-25m for him only to potentially see him kicked around the Championship for a year?

Okay, well, if you asked me 3.5 years ago would we have picked up a 16-year-old kid from Guernsey and then be asking for 20-25 million for him three years down the line, I would have told you that was impossible to believe.

The point I'm trying to make is we might not need to replace him with an external player in the summer, that there are plenty of players that can play that AMC role at the club (including one we just signed in Mehmeti). In the meantime, Benarous might well come good (even if Scott leaves in the summer). I'm not saying Benarous goes straight in to playing 40 games next season, that is unrealistic (but not impossible).

I don’t think we can pin hopes and / or expectations on Benerous. He’ll need time, patience and some real TLC before coming back this time. I would suggest Pearson will be over cautious if anything.

We might just have an extra season of Alex back on loan, so he might just get that time.

Do you think there is anybody in our squad who would get more than a 5 for corners? Why are we quite so bad at dead ball situations?

Matty James has a 13 for corners, haven't checked them all but it was the obvious one to check.

    ?

So I found what seems to be a before (obviously if his potential has increased that's the main thing):

Changes are (compared to FM 2023 at release):

    Technical

    Crossing +2

    First Touch +1

    Tackling +2

    Mental

    Anticipation +3

    Composure +2

    Determination +4

    Flair +2

    Off the Ball +1

    Positioning +3

    Work Rate +3

    Physical

    Balance +3

The buffs to his mental stats are the real surprise, really. 18 determination is a big thing in FM.
