I would have liked to see Peterborough sneak up, underdogs and all that. Plus the division might have been a little weaker, which might have helped us.

I missed a lot of the game, I was watching Newcastle (good game too) and turned over as it went 3-0, utter madness. It was a masterclass in how not to see a game out. Wednesday seemed to want the ball so much more. Neither team showed too much patience or quality, and P'boros hold up play at a time it was vital, was non existent . Fair play to Sheff , but Throw away a 4-0 then 5-4 and top it off with such a bad clearance. They really did implode. Not sure where the added 1:30 came from they tacked onto the 6 added mins , but they didn't help themselves.
  3. and we can only dream of the days of Chopper Harris
  4. I did double check Hooper as I couldn't remember if he went to Liverpool straight from us or not....... Not I'm resigned to losing him, so .... Win the World Cup , Man of the Tournament & MotM most games and then we get £40M and a loan back
  5. I had forgotten him, but I was thinking first teamers . Kane was 14/15 ?
  6. I only add the least respected rumour monger on Twitter for a couple of reasons. Liverpool have been mentioned and it got me thinking to the last transfer from us to Liverpool. The only one I can think of is Peter Spiring. Admittedly my memory is shocking so, anyone else think of another.

I totally agree, but gyokeres decision making was poor come the end last night. Could have been a lot more comfortable with just a better choices on the several breaks they had in the last 15 minutes. Oh, and to add to the doom and gloom over Us Vs Them ... just saw this A short 5 years ago in Div 4
  8. I don't disagree, or with your first post, but if they use the money wisely they have the opportunity for at least an extended stay further down the line. Burnley didn't spend massively (from memory) and built a reasonable team over 2 years for a longer stay, Fulham have gone for it but still have the fallback ob the better players that came in and the PP to carry on building. No certain formula, but getting there at least give you the means to make a better first of it the next time.
  9. Will you copy and paste this on the ; Real Madrid v Man City Playoffs Ivan Toney Milan v Inter Emiliano Sala Everton FFP- yes are Cardiff the new Watford and other threads ? Just wondering.
  10. Just looked for a laugh, £22 return . That might be enough to tempt me, 2hrs 30mins each way is a bit of a downer mind.
  11. Just glad I didn't Google it to see if it was genuine
  12. As new contract announcements go, it's up there
  13. My take from that ... Exactly this Why didn't Cardiff arrange transport ? Why just buy someone worth £13m and not take an interest in him from the moment of "purchase" ? Seems very slapdash , doesn't seem like they even sent a representative from the club. A shit show of their own making it would seem.

That was a let down from Sunderland. Luton everything you expect, but Sunderland trying to run with the ball every single time and every player was madness come the end. Even when they got in good positions wide the lad ran at the defender when in a good position. That break by Luton, managed to turn a certain goal and a winning one, into another nervy few minutes. I bet the manager has a word. I don't think M'boro or Cov will be too worried.

  16. I'm a bit odd with films, maybe because I watch them while on the cross trainer, I can watch most films over and over. The thing for me is ones I can't rewatch, but I still liked. Memento is great, but because of the twist I struggle to watch again knowing the end. The machinist is another, great twist but knowing the ending kind of stops me wanting to watch again. Not sure why as there are dozens I watch over and over.
  17. Great photo , shame they have a housing estate there now.
  18. I would always prefer a genuine Keeper that could bat, Bairstow could be squeezed in somewhere if need be.
  19. Looks like I'm going to have to make a special trip if I want to get to Goodison before they move, I think Leeds and Leicester are toast. Can't see Leeds ( WHU A. & Spurs H.) or Leicester ( Newcastle A. & WHU H. ) getting more than a point. Everton have 2 teams all ready for the beach ( Wolves A. & B'muf H.) I think a point will be enough for them , I really don't see anyone below Everton, pulling off a 5-1 Brighton sort of performance.
  20. I was working on the Post for a short time around then. Left my car for no more than 20 minutes and when I got back the water on the windscreen had frozen in bubbles/ripples. Never seen a flash freeze like it. Made it home and struggled to get almost to the Gate when we found it was off. Could barely walk anywhere without slipping, it was mad. We plotted up in the Port Wall Tavern and a mate rang his Dad to pick us up. Never seen anything like it before or since. We were in the wrong stand , the other end from our lot. Could barely see a thing, I think we scored in front of our end as well. Had a laugh with Timmy Mallet who was sat behind us, mainly at his expense .
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owners want a higher profile man in now . It would be a very American thing to do .
