Here's a piece by 442 on Luton and the ground. I didn't realise they are waiting to start the new ground, bet they won't want to spend a proposed £10m on something they want to walk away from around 2026.

Robins taking over at Cov when in Div 4 , you can't argue he's done a great job and has a style about him while building the team year on year. The sort of man you'd want here in the future, if he hasn't gone on to bigger things. Rob Edwards has done well , FGR then Luton. But Luton were in a decent position TBF. Experienced from last year and in about 8th when he took over, credit for around 50% win ratio, but what Nige took over here is the complete other end of the scale. We were approaching basket case levels, Luton were expected Playoff contenders.

Not sure the Prem is ready for Luton, saw an article earlier saying Luton need to spend £10M to get the ground ready, not sure if that's true, but having been there I wouldn't be surprised. Fair play to them, but it will be a minor miracle for them to stay up next year.

Wont be the same teams though. Whichever one goes up I doubt they will have many players from today starting first game next year. They might do a Burnley and keep most of them, but more likely they build a whole new team.

  7. Only ever been in for breakfast, which was lovely. Look forward to hearing a review.
  8. And as sure as death and taxes, Glos lose
  9. Glos may well lose , but this is some catch
  10. Thought he was good with crosses, shots not so much. Difficult conditions though so I will cut him some slack. If Dave take swords, I fancy your chances
  11. England seemed to take a while to get a grip of conditions, so many misplaced passes and poor touches. Improved as the game went on. I know I'm biased , but Scott looks like someone playing in an agegroup below him. Looks so calm and aware.
  12. Love seeing the keeper come and claim that
  13. This Ref is going to be interesting. Doesn't seem to mind a push and a pull on Scott.

  15. Just annoying he's exactly the sort of player we will be looking for. Add that Nige knows him and thinks he's a good player, but his time has past IMO. Having said that, if things were to change and he didn't get the offers he (and we) expect him to. As I said, he's exactly the sort of player we would would be looking for.
  16. Leicester can't score and WHU won't want to coast now. Draw at best IMO Everton , without Calvert Lewin ? Bournemouth with no pressure, but still an average side. I'd lean towards draw or possibly Everton win. Leeds & Spurs are 2 basket cases. I could see a Spurs walk over or a Leeds odd goal Win, really tough to call when sides are so erratic . I make that Everton staying up by the skin of their teeth again. Shame , I would have liked the trip.
  17. Possibly, but the system is set up so individuals (or their agents) have to fight their own battles . They will have agreed to a new deal to extend their stays, so no upheaval or costs, set against a reduced contract and still earn a very good salary. It is very different to HNM's position and they (or us) wouldn't know how much the offer was until he accepts . Even then can they argue with someone who has 10/15 years ahead of them Vs an extra year or two at the end of a contract. I honestly don't think it would make a difference to the squad dynamic.
  18. Great interview. He comes across as a mature , level headed & sensible young man.
  19. Basically competitive would be a competition organised by a Federation ( Uefa or FIFA say) , Friendlies can be organised by respective FA's and not necessarily governed by the same rules like Subs etc. At least that's my take. That's an interesting article @Davefevs , missed that completely . No wonder people get confused, being able (potentially) to play for 2 Nations in the same Tournament is a big change.
  20. I expect the starting point was very different. Weimann & Wells were near the top of our budget and towards the end of their respective careers. Massengo would have been lower/middle budget and best years ahead of him. I would guess a contract equal to what he was on is still some way lower than the new ones AW & NW are on.
