  1. As soon as they did it the first time, and it sold ok, they were never going to stop. It's another revenue stream and that's fine by me, I rarely buy shirts anyway and never full price. They could sit down and work out one away kit that doesn't clash, but probably easier and financially better to do 3. There are only aa few times we should need an away kit anyway. M’boro Rotherham Southampton Stoke Sunderland The Yellow kit would do fine in these games, so I hope the away is is good enough to make it worthwhile. Clever releasing the 3rd kit first, then you do NEED an away kit
  2. This could be the best attack we have faced since Stokes started the revival. Bazball doesn't always come off, but if we can get a good start it may put the Aussies on the back foot and they aren't always great from there. Our batting is probably as strong as it could be, genuine batting down to 8/9 . The bowling will be interesting, can Moheen hold down an end, how do we balance our attack ? Really looking forward to it.
  3. These threads are never complete without mentioning HR PuffnStuff Or Banana Splits which brought so many other series with it.
  4. Smith is going to be a nause this summer isn't he. Is it just me ? I hate the Aussies when we play them, as a team and individuals, but previously when they retire I've come to like and appreciate them. A bit like Lara, Richards and the rest, when we play them hate it, then after I can appreciate the talent and the men. Most of them have been hard opponents but really interesting people, and enjoyed their post career interviews and looking back at what they have done . I have a feeling that with Smith and Warner I will never come around to even accept them, let alone like them. Ball tampering , then crying like it was an accident ?? Didn't the repentant Smith then scrub and remark batting marks when fielding ? Then Warner quoted as saying "I don't regret anything. You make your own path, right? We've lost Archer ( I was really looking forward to seeing him this series) and Leach, they've started well. I really want to stuff them but it's never easy and I think the first Test could set the tone for the Series. Can Anderson play all series and will Wood play at all , Will Moheen be a lucky addition and will Bairstow match up behind the stumps. What Crawley will we get, the classical looking stroke player or the rabbit in the headlights ? So looking forward to the Ashes, but really hope we start well.
  5. Seems some WHU fans agree with many on here.
  6. and it's all legal and above board. I think this is a nice idea, thinking back to the Terry Cooper days and the "Open Days" around then, we loved it. No restrictions , wander around the ground and best of all be on the pitch. I remember a very relaxed atmosphere, photos with players and just wandering around, a mate even brought a ball and we had a lick about in the open end goal. I know this is very different to that, different times, but I imagine it would mean even more as you are not allowed on the pitch any more. And it's for charity, really is a nice idea. ******************************************************************** PICNIC ON THE PITCH RETURNS TO CRAVEN COTTAGE! 7. The one thing these last two finals have surely proven. They have to get a handle on appealing , chasing Refs and descent . Absolutely ruining games.
  8. Basically punched the ball back to the keeper, lets see. I really don't understand why the Ref took so many looks , unless he didn't want to give it.
  9. I love a player going down when they have been hit in the face. That moment when they haven't decided which part of the head they want to claim was hit and they end up basically wiping their face.
  10. Absolutely, but he probably feels like he has to exaggerate the "fall" to get a decision after the Antonio one.
  11. The mix of a shit/bias Ref and Robbie ******* Savage on CoComs is doing my head in..... sound off for now.
  12. Ref falling for everything the Fiorentina try, I feel a dodgy decision coming on.
  13. I thought I saw a picture that showed they had started to strip the grass. Can't find anything now, may have dreamt it. EDIT Found it
  14. I wonder if there was either no one available, big enough and not already booked, or there was too much competition and the costs have risen too high. The bigger venue market seems packed out now and as direct competition Cardiff venues are well ahead it seems. You would think once the stage and all the rest is in place , it would make financial sense to do 2 or 3 in a row.
  15. I think if it's any other series they would look at a genuine front line spinner, as it's the Ashes, well.... My first thought when Leach pulled up lame was Moeen . Adds massively to the batting and his bowling has come on plenty. Unless they want another pace bowler to cover where Stokes would have chipped in, I think he starts. That may have been why he took a day to consider, would it be worth the effort if he was just carrying drinks ? I may be wrong, but that's how it looks to me.
  16. Early days , but anyone been to the Lebanese Restaurant in Finzel's Reach ? Hoping to get there for lunch on Saturday.
  17. I know , I went for the taller of the ones I found, first was 5'7"
  18. Played mainly CB for Rochdale , but I think you're right , handy option though. He's only a bit taller than me , so doubtful he'd be our dominant CB. TBH I hadn't realised he was only* 5'9" ish. * ?
  19. Quick look on Transfermarkt and it looks like, over his whole career , he has played predominantly as a CB. Carey & Kelly had spells at FB before settling into a CB role. Good age and decent amount of games.
  20. I'd guess, if everything is done and signed off, it would just be a date that triggers the transfer of the registration and the League would ratify it on day one. Scotlands next game is the 17th ( 90 Minutes actually says the EFL window opens on the 10th), so he would be our player if he plays. Could be the quickest ever a clause has be activated
  21. Apparently a bit hit and miss last year, TBF to Dickie the Club was a basketcase so hard to judge. He was highly rated by QPR the year before.
