  1. It'll be even worse the following year EXCL Every Sunday Premier League game will be on live TV from the season after next - but fans face midday and 7pm kick-offs at weekends
  2. I didn't want to post it, but with Wood available for the next Test, Jimmy would be the one to drop out for me.
  3. At this rate we wont have any 3PM Saturday games.
  4. I think it might be Wayne Bray, though not 100%. Yep.
  5. I have no memory of Gooding ( or Carter TBH ) . McCaffery I didn't like, not just for the obvious. It was grim this season, it also got worse. Bottom of the League at one point the following year. The worse it got , the more I went and I think it is a little bit siege mentality, bit us against the World. But I know a few who would say these times were among their favourite following City. Though after coming back from an evening trip to Colchester (I think) , seeing one dribbled shot on target for us, I didn't think much of TC saying he was happy with the game ?
  6. The photo I found was listed as 1982. Jan Moller left before the end of the season 1981-82 . Pretty sure that's Alan Nicholls in the background. The games left are between Jan - March 13 when Moller played his last game. The games were Wimbledon, Huddersfield , Fulham , Portsmouth , Exeter , Oxford and Lincoln. Of those I doubt Huddersfield , Fulham or Portsmouth would change kits. I think it could be Keith Cassells challenging for the header, and to back that I found this photo. The kit looks similar. As for the crowd, if I am right , there were over 8,000 there.
  7. Can I just quote our recent guest. Does the application have to show on the site, I still can't see anything.
  8. On the other side of the coin, I don't see us having the pace to do the same to them. They will bombard us 2nd innings, I doubt they will pitch much up.
  9. Braindead batting again . Get close to their score then swing FFS
  10. I looked yesterday and they were protecting Wood so he's ready for the next one. With Archer out it limits options, but apart from Tongue our attack looks a little one dimensional .
  11. IMO There is no answer to that, it depends on circumstance, position of the game etc, etc.
  12. They/he did, I didn't think they studied this angle long enough, but I am a little biased /
  13. At the time I thought the ball hit the ground, I also thought the 3rd Ump' would give it out. It could be because it's the Ashes that I thought it was grounded, it could be that it was a confirmed cheat , but this does look suspect .
  14. I knew 1/2 , had to check my books to check and still don't know the one on the right for sure. If it is the game I think it is, the team was: Moller Stevens Williams Bray McCaffery Nicolls Gooding Carter Chandler Harford Hay I know most of that team but have no recollection of 2 of them; *** L. Carter played 16 games for us and the only Gooding I can find played 3.
  15. Thought I'd share a few Pics I'd come across. Don't think I've shared them before. Eastville open end 1976, ended 0-0. I have no details about this one other than it is apparently 1982. With some dodgy detective work I think it could be Oxford from March . 0-2 and one of Jan Moller's last games for us. Last for today, Keith Fear Vs Leeds in the FA Cup. Fear lobbing David Harvey for City's goal in the 1-1. I had a great view of this as I was in the open end for some reason. I guess it was the tickets my Dad got, we were right on the fence.
  16. This is what we should have aimed for. They have 2nd string spinners bowling and the quicks are looking tired. We could have been 250 for 2/3 and looking at a possible lead, as it is we are hoping our 3 remaining batters & the tail can get us close.
  17. With Broad who is not great against the short stuff in at 8 , then the rest of the tail, we have 3 left to get the runs. Stokes has been thrashing at everything lately and hitting very little (hope I'm wrong) , so Bairstow and Brook really need to get the majority of the runs if we are going to get close. It feels like we are going old school and sliding to capitulation.
  18. Carry on like this and we could be all out for 250, use some sensible tactics and we can get up around their score. This will set the tone for their bowling for the series.
  19. FFs why are they chasing stupid shots when we are well on top. Aus are a bowler down too, just play the situation, be aggressive but play proper shots.
  20. Just seen this ... A 'three-year phase-out' process will now begin, ending at the conclusion of the 2025/26 season. After these three years and for the start of the 2026-27 season, betting companies will no longer be permitted as front-of-shirt or primary sponsors of English professional football clubs. Though I think it's a bit 'fudged' as some pitch side logos may be allowed.
  21. It really annoys me, if City just charged a bit extra and called it "the price" I doubt it would annoy so much or so many. But a booking fee is a real trigger. I think it was a John Cooper Clarke gig that was flagged up recently. £65 a ticket , which is steep enough , then the venue added. Service £8.60 Facility £ 3.40 Transaction £2.50 For print at home tickets. If the £1.25 is for the company that organises everything fine, but again charge the extra and then the Club can pass on the "fee". You never get a ticket for the price of the ticket anymore and it annoys people.
  22. Man , now that IS Fuckugly Looks like they launching a new Power Rangers film ?
