Derby about 76, stopped at the Services and was asked as we were about continue the journey, to get off and bump start the coach. Now that was quality Coaches. Hard fought , scrappy and not convincing and I'm not sure fully deserved. But maybe they are doing what the old Italian sides used to do, build their way into a Tournament . They look a shadow of themselves at the moment.

I saw an article recently , though not the same interesting. Developers demolished a Pub without permission. To go ahead without permission would seen arrogant at best. I know some do get a jump on things, I've seen enough Grand Design programs to know that. But they are houses that haven't had dozens of complaints. Some on here may know the answer to this; What would/could happen if they built it and the planning office wanted time to consider the complaints ? Would they be allowed to get the safety side signed off ? Would they be allowed to use the Stand ? Or would the entire area be off limits until planning and safety has been passed ? I'm sure someone will know.

Riding our luck a bit here

I'm no expert, plus a tad cynical , but maybe it was deliberate. They had the necessary public meeting midweek during working hours apparently. They held off planning application until the last minute. They started clearing the site before any consent had been granted. They seem to be going ahead before the Planning application has been heard. I wonder if they are trying to pressure the Powers that be into green lighting it all . Add the delay for SAG checks it does look odd. They will blame everyone else if they don't get the go ahead, and the fans (or most of them and the Post ) will lap it up with one flash of a nice watch.

Feels like they may have scored too early, just relaxed a bit and missing that edge. Under hit passes and caught in possession , hopefully those chances might serve as a wake up and get them going. Lucky to still be 1-0

Just seen that BW has left Sunderland for a new Challenge ( football speak ) in Singapore . Wiki describes them as .. We were cruising, I leave the room for a few minutes and carnage. Poor shot from Root , but could have been worse , 3 poor drops by the Aussies. Could be a low scoring game if this carries on.

I don't see the Club ever changing the historic colours of the teams. What they could do is have a version of the City home shirt as the Bears change, and vice versa .

Just one more opinion , and as we all know opinions are like arseholes , everybody has one. Really hope I'm right and I prove all the "experts" wrong . One thing I'll add though, it would be nice to have a full squad to pick from for most of the Season. If we can do that, I really think we have a chance to shake things up . I'd say top 10 would be possible and with a run of luck who knows, we could trouble 6th.

This time the other Pod that I enjoy. Benjamin Bloom Football Channel is one of the better ones, and he does take time to explain why he has a team where he has them . For you benefit I have written out the League as he has it, but he is worth a listen. There are a few teams that differ massively , but he has us the same as Gab Sutton, which is interesting , but not surprising. Probably BB is nearer how I see the Division shaping up, I do expect (hope?) we will be several places higher though. Thoughts on this one ?
