  1. This time the other Pod that I enjoy. Benjamin Bloom Football Channel is one of the better ones, and he does take time to explain why he has a team where he has them . For you benefit I have written out the League as he has it, but he is worth a listen. There are a few teams that differ massively , but he has us the same as Gab Sutton, which is interesting , but not surprising. Probably BB is nearer how I see the Division shaping up, I do expect (hope?) we will be several places higher though. Thoughts on this one ? BB's 1-24 on the left & Gab Sutton had the important spots right 01. Leicester. CHAMPS ...... Leicester 02. Middlesboro ........ Sunderland *********** 03. Leeds .................M'boro 04. Southampton ......Leeds 05. Coventry ......... Swansea 06. Watford. ............. Hull ******************* 07. Millwall 08. Sunderland 09. Norwich 10. Birmingham 11. Swansea 12. Ipswich 13. Blackburn 14. Bristol City ....... Bristol City 15. PNE 16. Stoke 17. Hull C 18. WBA 19. Huddersfield 20. Plymouth 21. Cardiff ***************** 22. QPR. ......... Sheff W 23. Rotherham. .... Huddersfield 24. Sheff Weds. .....Rotherham
  2. Was that the same as the Women, drive to the Gate and Bus up to HPC ?
  3. When the move was first touted , several sources said it was definitely two separate deals . I wonder if the medical made them change their thoughts. It did seem to change very quickly.
  4. Really thought he was going to make it here, shame , I think he'll get picked up by someone.
  5. Our Academy is really something, I can't keep up. I started to wonder if there would be a gap in players coming through this year, so many started to press last year . Looks like I was well off. Just a shame they don't make more of the Academy, through the OS and the Social Media outlets. Went on the OS and you have the drop down that says Mens Team , then dedicated drop down for women. If I hadn't clicked on "Mens Team" singular , and seen the Academy there I wouldn't have known they did anything. At first I could only see it mentioned in "Latest" . I hope they sort it out to make it clearer, and I hope the Gantry at the HPC is permanent and it means they will stream the games this season .
  6. I had to check, as I thought he'd left already, but I saw an old post from Bristol Live that said we triggered the extra year in his contract in January . Seems strange to do that just to let him go now.
  7. So many serious questions you could ask , but just enjoy it for what it is.
  8. Probably not on iFollow, but it wouldn't make any difference as my feed is down anyway. Still , another young gem ?
  9. There was one episode which felt like one of those series that has a musical episode. Far too Hollywood for me, watched it on FF. It can get a bit like that, but there was enough about the players/fans/club to keep me interested. I tend to watch these sort of things when I can use Fast Forward to skip the tacky stuff.
  10. It is ridiculous , but with the TikTok, Expedia, Aviation American Gin, Vistaprint sponsorship and its Disney series ( still seeing figures of around £400k per episode ) , then the new upgraded Sponsorship by United Airlines and smaller sponsors ( STōK Cold Brew Coffee as the stadium sponsor and Betty Buzz, actor Blake Lively (Reynolds’s wife, as its official training kit sponsor. ) who knows. I've tried to find figures to back up the £20M, but it's hard. If there are another 18 episodes in series 2 with Disney and the figures I quoted are right , that's over £7m alone . STöK , although I've never heard of them , are the biggest company of it's sort in America . They have the Stadium naming rights it seems, so I imagine that was worth a fair bit. The £20m might be an exaggeration , but maybe not by much.
  11. They have been very clever so far. The draw of Celebrity continues to grow and excite people yet baffle me, and people will follow the story with interest while there is a link with Hollywood. Reynolds comes across well, he is across so many things , has so many varied interests and works Social media brilliantly. But the big draw (and so money) is from America, I remember reading that Basketball was so popular because Americans have a short interest span so that could be a worry if it turned into a mid table borefest of a season. Of course , the difference is money. Even the Circus from the other side of the river went straight through L2 on momentum alone, Wrexham are rumoured to be bringing in £20M a year in revenue ! I have seen them linked with Championship players, they signed Will Boyle from Huddersfield , though many of their recent signings should be good enough to compete at that level. I've enjoyed the series, it's been a massive boost to the Club, but how many more can they squeeze out ? In a couple of years they will probably be back to being a "normal" Club, but they could have built their fanbase back up. Also with raised profile will probably get new owners out of it so long term they should be ok for a while.
  12. Looks like you earlier post was spot on, sadly. Going through the fixtures it looks the same at all the "big" Clubs. Even Brentford play at a local sports ground.
  13. Got a lot of time for him and he does seem to know his stuff, but there are a few oddities in his Championship predictions . City 14th , Hull 6th ? https://blog.betvictor.com/en-gb/sports/football/championship-2023-24-season-preview-1-24/?_gl=1*1i4f6z0*_ga*MTA3MDc0ODM2Ny4xNjg3NjI3MTAx*_ga_B1JTVFFX3P*MTY5MDE3ODkwNC4yNi4wLjE2OTAxNzg5MDQuMC4wLjA
  14. The only reason I think they are possibly holding on, is the total lack of an announcement . He has had his last pay packet from his Contract with us, he's bags of time to find another Club and I just think if we had moved our focus away from him, we would have put it out there. The only other reason we could be holding on is to do him a favour in other talks. He has an offer from us ATM, bargaining chip ? All supposition I know, but I can't think why else we would not have announced something.
  15. 2 fully fit CB's , Atkinson out for a few months yet, Naismith carrying a niggle and Kalas situation very quiet. I don't blame Kalas for hanging on and getting his full contract paid up, what I would have done is pushed for a decision on his intensions . We have 4 Fb's who have , or could fill in at CB but I'm not sure that's how we want to start the season. We must be looking for that extra body or we wouldn't be waiting on Kalas. I don't think we are desperate, but with our injury record you would be a little concerned starting the season with just the two fit CB's. On the other side of the coin, Dickie and Vyner have good appearance records and Naismith is just a niggle. I guess it comes down to Glass half full or half empty. Great article by Piercy , love the quote "one member of the Oxford staff said as they left the HPC, “you lot were miles ahead of Swansea. In everything”. They had been left impressed." Yes it's all about fitness, but these "easier" games give you a chance to work on patterns of play, form relationships and partnerships and get Pearsons ideas ingrained into the team, which will be important as the intensity picks up over the next few games.
  16. Around 6 months I believe , ONeil's had been with Wycombe for 7 years. He may have mentioned their name, but at the time we were desperate for someone to come and do a kit at short notice.
  17. They looked decent and with (apparently) few options from the bench , they had to swap around the back four to accommodate an injury and still looked pretty good. Bit of experience through that team and they could be good . Be interesting to see what they do in the next couple of games.
  18. I hope you're right . After looking good against Brazil, they looked similar to today against Australia, and lost 2-0. I think that struggling to score lately may have caused them to snatch at chances , had the chance to have won more easily and the delivery form wide was wasteful. A Win from the first game is always important and with luck they will relax a bit for the coming games and play their own game.
  19. With all the chances we've created, their keeper hasn't made a difficult save, Eapes has had to pull off two very good ones. If we come out of this with a win they will have to improve.
  20. They seem to have slipped back a bit, look sloppy at times. Bit like that game against Australia , plus like the Mens team they look suspect when they lose possession . Could do with a spell of simple ball to feet and not over commit . Just as well Earps is concentrating.
  21. I think giving that as a free kick and so not a Pen is harsh. Would never have been given as a foul if it was the other way round, also means the studding from the knee down is just a Yellow. Interesting decision.
