  1. It's a consequence of everyone playing out from the back. Every single keeper in a side that tries to play that way will make an error at times. Ederson has , and he has more passing options than most keepers. Not even a question IMO. Bentley great at 1v1 , good shot stopper , but was terrified to leave his line and looked like he had divers boots on when a cross came in.
  2. What did you think of Wade Elliot ? All he did was be available , get and pass the ball t a Red shirt and keep us moving. It's not all about killer balls or Hollywood passes , the game is much more than that.
  3. MotM for me , playing an interesting role , at least from my alcohol infected eyes. Seemed to be a CB that stepped out to almost man mark at times. I thought him and Pring looked a brilliant combination , specially as he sees himself as a more forward looking player.
  4. Played an interesting position today , but played it well. I thought he and Pring rotated really well. MotM is a decent shout. Knight was good , thee were a few that were ok, but I thought he stood out.
  5. I thought he was a very , big club fan. Seemed to give them a lot of easy decisions. I was impressed he booked ours for the first fouls , yes they were fouls , but there were about 5/6 fouls on Mehmeti that weren't bookings. I'm not sure about some of the Penalty shouts . The Dickie one was a good shout , but the rest I'm not so sure.
  6. Paraphrasing , but. We set the structure , then we send them out and tell them to be brave and front foot. If you are so concentrated on structure, how can you be brave and front foot because then you aren't playing to the structure . Being brave to me implies playing off the cuff, being individual . Which again isn't playing to a structure. That recent structure has had us sitting in , playing some of the most boring football I've seen. Players playing within themselves looking worried to take chances. I don't see him taking the shackles off tomorrow. Best we can hope for is a bore draw.
  7. That's unfair. That shirt was yer actual match shirt playing version , the replica was a pocket friendly £85 . The kids version was an as cheap as chips £65 .
  8. They would be even more stupid than the majority of fans think they are, not to at least have a clue .
  9. I don't want to go over this again , but. He wasn't released , he was sacked . They said the results thing because they couldn't blame health. They sacked him after trying to get him to leave apparently . They could have gone about it in many different ways , which could have been most honest, more fan friendly and more like a properly run company . They chose not to .
  10. Tomorrow will be interesting for one thing at least , our low block . Up there it was the first time I saw a Pearson team sit off , we created a few chances and could have ( undeservedly ) nicked a point. But we didn't look to try and take the game to them . TBF they were flying , so I guess it was a similar "stay in the game" thing we have seen lately. Now tomorrow. They are looking less 'unbeatable' lately , but our go to style has been "stay in the game" . I can't see that changing any time soon , so I think it will be a game of attrition and hope we can nick something . It's going to be difficult tomorrow , right from the start it will be challenging . Looks like I might have to lower myself to go into Wetherspoons as it's a religious Bank Holiday and real Pubs won't be open .
  11. No bites here I do think it's a good appointment and they have a chance of promotion. That said , what else is he going to say
  12. Could be a lot worse, a lot. I'm no fashionista and I've never heard of either label , but man you have to be seriously rich to buy these. Or really plain ....
  13. When I've sold stuff online, eBay or whatever , I know that presentation is key. Now the first thing is to iron clothes to get them to look their best, I wouldn't have put that up as it is . I don't get how you can see that and say , "yep, looks great" . Absolutely no awareness , it's really basic stuff. There is , IMO , a massive difference between fashion and style . Jon manages neither. It could have been Vyners idea, something he fancied doing and if so fair play. I don't get the pile on . It's not my sort of thing, but hoodies, Tees etc are big sellers right now and this would have been planned for some time . They probably thought the break was a good time to launch as it would be quiet for football news. Would they put it back until everything is rosey ? Who knows when that could be. Now that is worthy of stick . I did a few websites using Dreamweaver , it's not rocket science and for someone starting from scratch theirs were no better than what I did. That is embarrassing . They could do worse than get a fans/supporters involved , doesn't need to be tech savvy just really interested. The content can seem agenda lead , then other bits ( academy) non existent . Never going to be perfect , but I'd settle for decent.
  14. It's his given name , one of them. Zachary George Onyego Vyner
  15. Nah, prefer their beer Nice place mind.
  16. James Piercy's article. Bristol City midfielder makes positive step forward on long road back to full fitness Ayman Benarous' last appearance for Bristol City was in April 2022 Bristol City playmaker Ayman Benarous has taken a positive step in his injury recovery after completing 45 minutes for the Under-21s in their 0-0 draw at Coventry City in the Professional Development League 2. Benarous hasn’t played any matches outside training since August 2023 after suffering a hamstring injury during his comeback from successive ACL injuries, which have kept him out of first-team action for nearly two years. The 20-year-old successfully played the first-half at the Coventry Building Society Arena before he was replaced by Charlie Filer at half-time in what was a planned period of time to ease him back. The points were shared as Kai Churchley saw a late penalty attempt saved by Sky Blues goalkeeper Luke Bell to leave City eighth in the southern section of the division. The U21s next fixture is a week on Tuesday at home to Fleetwood Town, which could also include Benarous as the Bristolian steadily builds up his minutes in the hope he could be available for the senior squad before the end of the 2023/24 campaign. Benarous, who's under contract until next summer, has been in training with the first-team for several weeks under Liam Manning but City have remained careful introducing him back into the fold given the extent of the injury problems he’s suffered over the last two years. Benarous tore his ACL in May 2022 training having made 12 appearances in what appeared to be his breakthrough season for the club after long being considered one of the academy’s leading talents. As he edged close to a comeback in December that year he then sustained a second ACL at the High Performance Centre which kept him out for a further six months before he returned for pre-season last summer. Having again worked his way back to fitness and after playing for the U21s in August against South African side Supersport United in a behind-closed-doors friendly, he experienced another setback, this time concerning his hamstring, which moved his timeline into 2024. Speaking about Benarous last month, Robins head coach Manning said: “He has had a tough, long period out and I've been really impressed. He's trained with us now for a few weeks and we’re going to look to get him involved in an U21s game soon. "In terms of how he's done in training, he's made a really positive impression and I'm looking forward to seeing how he comes back. “I think with the duration he's been out you don’t want to force it or rush it and set him back. You do have to be careful so we’ll look to increase his workload in the U21s and in training and see how he responds."
  17. The Board , and it is a stretch calling it that , seems to be made up of Gavin Marshall , Director and Jon Lansdown Chairman. Google says "A typical board of directors has nine members, but some have three, and others have 31" . So we are at the streamlined end of the spectrum to say the least. As for clout , if Jon wants to do something and Marshall is opposed ? He'll just tell Dad and he'll do whatever he wants . If Marshall has an idea , then Jon tells Dad and he'll do whatever he wants.
  18. Just saw that on Twitter , so pleased for the kid. Just hope it goes well, he deserves some good luck for a change.
  19. I'm with you there. We will not get full value from selling Conway to start with. His value has dropped , partly because he is not being played to his strengths, is not getting service and so isn't scoring . So if we get £5m we will be doing well . This big , strong, quick goal scorer , that holds the ball up ,can link play and is Championship ready ? That'll be someone every other Club in the Championship is after and will cost a lot more than £5m . We have 2 goal scorers at the Club that will score given chances , and that's what they should concentrate on . Calling for a new striker is a smokescreen , if we were missing lots of chances I might agree with them , but we aren't.

  21. Watched Record on , the Specials documentary the other day, brilliant and lovely to see Terry Hall , Horace Panter and Lynval Golding chatting away. I lost interest just before the 2nd album after being mad about the first one , and seeing them at the Locarno . I didn't even know about the album they released in 2019 , watching it had the old feel of around that first album. I've ordered Encore and love this versions of lunatics .
  22. Nah, George Lazenby is better , of the early ones Connery is 2nd. I kind of look at Craig's incarnation as almost a different genre , much more serious and my favourite of the lot. I was only thinking that the other day. Craig did the bit getting his double '0" , but they could go back as far as they want, even to where he was orphaned . It will be interesting , I loved the Daniel Craig version I just hope they keep up that standard.
  23. I was sure it was happening, even discussed it when we were in Bath recently. I must have seen the advert and not noticed the venues for this year. Real shame , hadn't been for a while so was keen to go back.
