  1. I wouldn't criticise him too much for not using Academy players , though I would question not having them on the bench rather than and empty seat. We were probably due a quiet period with so many bloodied over the last few years , I think (hope) we may see 2/3 pushing next year. What I would question, is signing basically an academy player to try and come and make a difference. Odd IMO.
  2. I don't agree that we are not very good, we are playing poorly to say the least , but at least some of that is down to how they are being told to play. Remember , it was only a few games ago that a couple of opposition Managers said we were the best pressing side in the division. That may have been a slight exaggeration , but that press has all but stopped in the last couple of games . That's not the players , that''s the Coach.
  3. It was discussed on another thread , he was supposed to do Southampton (I think) but he wasn't well enough . Jason Euel took his place . So , if he's well enough it could happen. I'd like to see it. Could be interesting.
  4. BOOOOOOO ! Seemed appropriate on a Warnock thread
  5. That's all we really have to hold onto , sadly . I don't agree with all the "has no ambition " posts , I think it's more that being a dictatorship that doesn't seem to like to take advice you can never have a balanced view. Jon has ideas , but massively limited it football as is Dad . Plus they just haven't learnt from experience. Then all of a sudden... Steve L steps away , we appoint an experienced Manager , we appoint a real CEO and everything starts to look like a real Club going in the right direction. Pearson may have been outspoken , but if he's treated fairly and honestly he wouldn't have felt the need to drop things into the Pressers. So we lose a Manager and 2 CEO's , TBF one wasn't down to the Club. In 5 months we have gone from the best set up for years, to being a mess with no obvious leadership worthy of the name. I hope your thinking is right , Steve may just see the difference in direction 6 months ago , to now . Nige isn't coming back , ever. Looking from either side it just wont work and that means any of his staff or friends would be doubtful. I hope they go down a similar route though , get an experienced man in . Get the support HE wants . Get a real experienced CEO. in ASAP . Get a real Chairman in , call it an advisor , call it anything but take the keys away from Jon. Even if it has to be in way that doesn't bruise his ego. They have heard/seen/felt the feedback from the sacking or the kits or the badges , they know they have done a great job in pissing off the fans . So maybe , just maybe they will make the right appointment again. They do stumble onto the right man every now and again. Even if they tend to balls it up after a short while.
  6. I listened on catchup , and skipped through , but what was it Ian Gay said ? I caught the bit about having 8 games to save his job, but that just seems obvious, given our results , and not like telling the World undisclosed transfer fees.
  7. I'm a fan of Piercy , his recent article was very good , Owers is always sensible and interesting . But I have to give credit to the presenter, that was the best show for some time, definitely since JT left. I'd love them to do this sort of thing once a month or so.
  8. Wasn't it stated that "The Plan" was to get rid of the older more experienced Pros ?
  9. I love Paddy Power's social media, always good for a joke and a dig.
  10. You could be right . I do think they will wait for an easy opportunity , a defeat so they can point and say, see it's him not us. I don't see any way they do it over the break, that would be decisive , and something that a well run Club might do. I really hope they are making enquiries already , you can see him being sacked now, and us taking until after the players come back for training to appoint someone.
  11. On one hand , Lansdown has always seemed supportive and doesn't usually 'go early' on dismissals . On the other , they must have got an idea of the supporters feelings , and just as season tickets go on sale ? I think they will do nothing and we will play Leicester . Then if we get a stuffing , Little Jon will have an 'out' . He used the Cardiff game with half an academy side playing to sack Pearson. If we get done 4 or 5 , I can see our spineless Chairman using the opportunity to court favour with the fans by sacking LM . Then they can ramp up excitement for renewals by linking us to top, top managers until everyone has paid their money . Then get someone equally dull (probably ? ) if that's possible.
  12. I know I will renew , I may think hard about it , I may wait until late on , but I will renew. It took Lansdown making our seats Corporate and more than doubling the price for me to step away previously. The problem is I do miss the social side, I have had mates who came for a drink before games, I can't do that and just go home . Plus I love the away day when we go in a group . That said it isn't a million miles away from not bothering . More shit football , poor leadership , price rises , kit bollox etc and it will come .
  13. Twine has only played once , not sure what we are missing yet until he has a run. I also think it was a pointless signing , giving that I doubt we will sign him permanently . I believe the Club (this time) when they say this (mythical?) striker wasn't available in January . I doubt he will be in the summer, seeing as how we want a big, strong, quick goalscorer ready for Championship football and within our budget. No doubt there are 23 other sides want the same . Of course , there is another thing, we don't make chances , at least not lots. There is no reason just having another striker would change our team for the better. We need the rest of the side to start creating first , then when TC and NW are missing lots , then I will think we need a new striker. I think we will have to take a chance on a foreign striker in the end , it's that or a L1/L2 punt
  14. Didn't we have 14 OOC that first pre season summer ? FFP meaning money was tight , rebuilding coaching & medical while not being allowed to replace senior Pros . Even selling a prize asset he was given about the same as we spent in the Jan after Pearson left . Manning was supposed to improve what we had , so the windows are inconsequential , yes pre season might make a difference but are you sure it would make that much of a difference ?
  15. Don't the League games count ? EDIT Suspensions following a Red Card are applied across both league and cup competitions – only accumulated Yellow Cards are competition specific*. Found this and I guess it depends if he's had other bookings.
  16. This is a mad game
  17. Not if we didn't make the final
  18. Didn't see that coming Shows it can happen at the top level too, poor defending.
  19. Liverpool with a 5 V 2 and don't score , criminal
  20. I really detest that bloke , and there is so much to dislike.
  21. apologies to Big Tone..... Condensed Version ..... The more Manning coaches the team, the worse they get.
  22. Putting aside all the passive , non football , hold on to what we have nonsense . Back to the game . I did't think we got much of the run of the ball , the Ref was , well odd too. But their goal , at first I thought Vyner played the lad onside . Not a great angle , but it does look suss from this clip . Would definitely be "interfering" , and it does look off . Doesn't excuse the set up or performance though.
  23. Man U 1-0 I suppose this isn't a bad game, but as it's 2 teams I really hate I struggle to enjoy it. I even put a £1 on to make it more interesting , not working so far.
