  1. The quote is from the article that I posted on another thread. The EFL are not firing anything, it's in their rules and regs. Company House has given a grace period for Accounts, because of COVID. The EFL haven't made any changes so the allowances aren't in place. That's why some clubs, and Alan Biggs above, are referring to it as administrative I believe. As I understand it , one club is already out of embargo (Huddersfield), another due out soon (Stoke), with others to follow. Luton & Cov have said it's due to accounting, but other clubs have stayed silent. Make of that what you will. Of 10 clubs under embargo , any number could be down to delayed accounts, which would mean they could be out soon. The fact that the reporter says "All of those clubs on the list were approached for comment. No responses were forthcoming", might mean that some are for other than administrative reasons.
  2. Well, we know it's not the recruitment. The guy in charge of recruitment said it had been good, and it wasn't his fault... Oh , wait. I'm spotting a theme ?
  3. I lived in Saint Werburghs and the 19 was great, straight through to the Robins. Used to be really worried when the Inspector got on as we regularly only paid for half way ?
  4. Their asschat site must be in meltdown ?
  5. Surprised they understood it, not quite as dumb as I thought they were.
  6. So you're saying he's found his level then ?
  7. The short version is... Everything I did was right, it's the managers fault and we are brilliant. Judging by everything on FB/Twitter etc, both of their fans disagree .
  8. So the Director of Football says the recruitment was right, that they have a good squad and the managers have got 80% of what they wanted. I'm thinking the managers asked for 8 cups of tea and 2 new players, got their tea didn't they? He has really thrown the last two managers under the Bus. As he would have been involved in recruitment he seems to be laying the whole blame on Garner and Tisdale, which is fine. Puts a lot of pressure on him as temporary manager and the new bloke to get results. Big game Saturday, if they don't win it really could mean trouble. I hope our own Jojo Woolacott has a very good game.
  9. Nailed it for me Spudski. Like many, many people I was underwhelmed when Johnson came in. But, after a while and reading a few things , I was impressed with his eagerness to study and learn other tactics and styles. I thought he doing the right thing with his 1% and all that looking at everything trying to improve. The problem came when he was unable to pick out the few bits, the best bits, the things he could use to make an effective side. He got confused and tried to throw everything at it and passed that confusion onto the players. Totally agree with you that they ended up hiding. We are struggling to put that right still. This is where I was hoping for an experienced man to come in, shake it up but with simple straight forward ideas. What we have (seemingly) is LJ 2.0. The Club head to toe , 2 assistants apart, is the same as it was 18 months ago, but the coach has 2/3 years less experience and knowledge.
  10. It's more of how / where the Pod seems to be aimed. It's just not my thing.
  11. I used to listen to OSIB, it's always taken a while to get going and I didn't care about the sponsorship. What made me stop was the "food" section, not sure why it was there, didn't find it specially funny, but that's fine. I've tried the others, dipped in and out and they all have pluses and minuses. If I'm going to listen to one now it's FBC. Few reasons, but they balance being a Misog , with being a fan and add in a little bit of knowledge and tactics. I think there are enough Podcasts around to satisfy everyones choice, they all seem slightly different, which has to be a good thing IMO. I do steer clear of the clubs version though.
  12. Can you imagine the great unwashed plotting up in Clifton ???? The Merchant Venturers mafia wont be having that.
  13. They've got some record Vs Stanley, TBF the mighty (??) Rooovers beat them 5-1 in 2011-12, but since then wow.
  14. Is that their currant kit ????? I know the old saying is you can't polish a turd, but **** me, looks like you can make one look worse !!
  15. That's why I've always chosen Lambrettas ?
  16. Schools out .... Alice Cooper
  17. Headache ....... Frank Black
  18. I've got that DVD, the one disappointing thing is they don't show the crowd enough. That open end was brilliant, I think it held over 6,000 and was always rammed when I went in there.
  19. My first League derby, brilliant. I did enjoy that open end.
  20. Zoo keeper says to my mate "The Gorilla is on heat and we need someone to mate with it. Would you consider doing it for £500?" My friend replies "I will on three conditions. First, I'm not going to kiss it. Second, my family must never know. Third, I'll need a couple of weeks to get the cash together"
  21. After HMHB , we sneaked in a Rumours of Fleetwood Mac gig, in Torquay in April. It was just looking like things were changing. I miss gigs & music events as much as anything.
  22. Bloody cold this morning, only thing I had to hand was my B&Q discount card. There ages scraping the at the ice , what a waste of time, only got about 10% off
