  1. If that's true about poor tickets sales, perhaps they should offer Sunderland tickets for ALL their home games.
  2. Right , can someone help me here. They have sold 800 tickets, decent enough, not aways easy to do midweek trips. The guys says they would have sold more if it wasn't all ticket, yet when I had a quick look the initial allocation seems to be 1400. If there is call for it you can have the whole end. How does this work in the gAsshead mind? Not all ticket , take thousands, make it all ticket and loads decide they can't go ! I'm really having trouble with this.
  3. Good grief that is one tinfoil hat conspiracy theory right there. I do like that they deserve to be a Championship or Prom side because of the size of Bristol, and that they should follow the likes of Cardiff and Brighton. Not sure if he realises that they are one club towns/city's , by his theory Brentford should be Champions of Europe , look at the size of London !
  4. Agree. the embargo’s have been pretty toothless previously. In some cases it seemed clubs have done business knowing that they can’t deal in the following window. Should be instant, not the window after next each time.
  5. They probably looked at QPR. originally rumour was £60m fine, then it turned out to be £42m. That then got haggled down to £17m and the owners writing off £22m. Not sure who was owner then, but if it was the 3 that were in charge when they sounded all the money, they were worth around £25 billion ! Villa probably thought the risk worth it, that and I don’t think the League can chase a Prem club to impose the fine if they did make it.
  6. Sounds more like a reward than a punishment , very odd lot aren't they.
  7. Well they call themselves "Football Club" so they have previous
  8. Wael , or whatever his name is, obviously saw that we recently let an academy player go with no fee but with a large sell on clause. He obviously thought, if that is how the better teams work, then that's how they'll play it. Of course that always depends on the player actually having future value.
  9. The attendance at the PO final was the largest until recently, not our allocation.
  10. You might be thinking of the playoff final attendance, 2008 Vs Hull was the largest until fairly recently.
  11. While I agree that players make the job much, much harder in every respect, I still think standards have dropped. I've seen some baffling decisions this year that were nothing to do with the players. I understand there is a lack of Refs at all levels, and that must impact at the higher end eventually. The "cream" rises , but that just means if you're not quite as shit as the next bloke , by default you're the best. The Prem will benefit from VAR next year, love it or hate it it should stop diving and play acting as long as the Powers that be have the backbone to come down hard on the fakers. Hopefully that will have a trickle down effect. That plus the condemnation of abuse of Refs starting out, even at junior level , may help more to come into the game and so raise standards. In the mean time , I will continue to berate every Ref that has the temerity to give a free kick against us , or not to flag every goal against us offside.
  12. To save anyone else of having to go to the link and feeling dirty..... Following the departure of Darrell Clarke, the Board and the owners are conscious that there has been considerable speculation regarding our future plans for the Club. In order to provide clarity to supporters, the Board and the owners would like to confirm that our aspirations and intentions for a positive future for the Club remain unchanged. Hard work continues behind the scenes. Whilst it is not possible to share all details due to confidentiality arrangements, we wish to put on record our extreme disappointment that another development site that the Club have been pursuing is no longer under consideration. Many months of effort, and not inconsiderable cost, have been put into this possibility of a new stadium and training ground development but we have now been left with no option but to explore and identify alternative solutions. The Board and the owners want the very best for Bristol Rovers FC. Supporters will of course be informed as soon there are important developments to share. In the meantime, we send our very best wishes to you for a happy and peaceful holiday season. So it has obviously gone through the "politician" filter, lots of words but no real substance. One question though, mentions training ground. They have land , didn't they having planning/building permission ? What happened to that then?
  13. Wouldn't normally care if someone else bets came in, must be the Festive season because I really hope this comes up for you .
  14. Not sure how true it is, but I was told before the match yesterday that Cott's was still being paid by Brum. Not sure if taking another job would effect that, maybe being paid until he finds new employment which I guess means he would want as much / more than he was getting. Which may explain why he's not taken anything so far. As I said, maybe wrong.
  15. OK , so bit by bit. Vanity project ? An owner spending money on the club they own, that's what happens at 99% of Football clubs, just because it doesn't happen at their club no need to call Steve names . Oh and as for chimps, that chimp got us promoted with record points and a Wembley win with a net spend of £400k in the black (according to https://www.transferleague.co.uk ) Thugs, ASPD's and petty criminals ? I'm surprised that's not on their shirt logo. How did Lansdown sabotage them ? Even if he means Taylor one player, when they have sold and bought plenty ? Straw clutching maybe? It's natural I suppose , to look for someone to blame when things are going badly . Now to most right thinking people it would be the owners, the board and the players at famous and few, but no. Blame all and anyone but them ! And the tit other calling SL a tax dodger FFS. I go on there very rarely, and each time I come away feeling dirty and wondering why I bothered. I hope they don't Cott's , he'd probably do a good job , and NOBODY wants that do they .
  16. Great job TBF, be as shit as you like and know you won't be sacked
  17. Not necessarily . You can still have liked him, appreciated what he had done for us, but realised that a change had to be made or we were heading down again.
  18. If it means keeping that **** off of the radio I'd be all for it. That and he'd really bollix them up .
