  1. Winnable game on Monday? Brentford are 11 points and 10 places above Barnsley and Barnsley had 31 shots at our goal , 8 on target to our 2 . As for Millwall , in December they were 15 points behind us, if we had gained almost a point a game on the team in 3rd place (as they have to us ) I would be buzzing too. From Dec 4th , we had 37 points from 20 games , currently we have 62 from 39. That works out to 25 points from 19 games, slightly better than a point a game. To be honest , yes we will have our best finish for years and a year on improvement, but can't help but think that not only will this season have been a waste, but I struggle to be optimistic for next year.
  2. This can't be right surely, from Argyle forum. great win for Argyle though, Rovers were a poor team today. From what I've read the gAss were robbed , 2 wrong Pens and they should have won, by far the better team. The ref ****** them over was the quote I read from Asschat.
  3. Definitely not , but reports confirm the dog has been sent for a tetanus injection !
  4. Just seen this on the Argyle forum. "According to a Rovers fan I know who is at the game there's still trouble. Seats thrown, fan bitten by dog and pepper spray used."
  5. The biggest single thing that I can see is runners. During our good run we had people running past the forwards and pulling defender around. When Reid was CF if he dropped Pato , Brownhill , even Smith and Pack would bomb on. Today Reid was more like CMF , came so deep FD was isolated and no one moved into the spaced he'd left or got past the forward.
  6. I posted this else where, but seems fitting here too. Evening Post at it's finest
  7. a mate put this on FB, thought I'd drop it here to show that the Evening Post is shite even when it comes to their favourite club.
  8. I'm still hoping for their relegation push
  9. Not a very trusting man is he? Mags only played as he'd tried Josh and Korey and neither worked. Eliasson may come good, but with Kent here not this year. Woodrow is a waste of a shirt and if Djuric was fit and Diony was match fit and interested he wouldn't even be near the bench. I could see the reasoning as he is busy , but God he needs a firecracker up his ass to get him going. We seem to have numbers but not real options/choices.
  10. Brownhill looked tired. I think he may have jarred something , may have been playing for time but I doubt it. I would have brought Pato on for Kent before, slowed the game by holding onto the ball and stopped any rhythm we had. We still don't have the options, if Oneil is fit he'll probably start Vs Fulham and Cardiff, the only other choice is Walsh and it looks like LJ doesn't trust him yet. Eliasson could have been part of a triple change I suppose, show we are still light in midfield options.
  11. They are back to being the team they were last year, bit better football and more threatening at times, but any team expecting to be in the playoff's would see that game out. Joe Bryan is looking less and less like a FB this year, out of position so often and makes rash challenges getting back. Same could be said for Wright, uses strength to try and block people off instead of going for the ball. Woodrow just looks like he's not interested. Kent showed skill at times but over plays and wants to hold the ball and so slows play down too much. FD looked knackered and should have been subbed earlier, but with a choice of Woodrow and Diony I can understand LJ hesitating . FF , strange one, caught crosses, makes saves but can't kick a ball into about an acre of grass. To be fair at times we looked like were getting back to the passing of earlier in the season, but as the game went on they crumbled to a pressure that wasn't even there. You expect the opposition to have spells , but we just seem to let them keep coming and coming. not sure what LJ can do, it's a mental thing and confidence is brittle. With 2 real inform teams coming up I can see us dropping out of the top 8 by the end of the month. Whether we can start another run and get back in is another question.
  12. I feel a musical interlude coming on .........
  13. Henbury Gas , always a giggle. So are Bristol Rovers football club about to enter a new Golden age of football greatness Interesting We have a great manger I'll give him good , at that level. We have a good set of footballers giving it everything for the badge. Can't comment We have a development squad we can be proud about with some very exciting players. Again , can't comment We have a good backroom team. Who knows, what have they actually done? New owners who want the very best for the club. Even their fans are having doubts New commercial dept desperately looking to bring more funding into the club with new and innovative ideas A new Ground breaking shop in the near future. What is a 'ground breaking shop' when it's at home? Always in the future too. New ticketing facilities to make it easier for distant gasheads. Does this mean , makes it harder to rip the club off?? We have a new training ground about to be built with excellent facilities to attract the right type of player to the club About to be built ? Again ? A new purpose built stadium about to be announced Did I miss something? The Post would have had a 64 page pull out if it was that close surely A great set of supporters. All the bricks are now in place to build a championship club , Canvass , surely
  14. Quote from gAsschat:I always slag them off doesn’t matter if their on a good run or a bad one there’s always plenty of ammo. If they get promotion to the Prem I’ll do the same. This is all kinds of pathetic, sums them up really. If we did reach the Prem they would have just lost at home to Hartlepool or someone, but they’d be celebration us losing to ManU. Odd bunch.
  15. OK , I'll bite. 1) The Championship is always hard, they were both there before and struggled but still got some decent results. Both teams have won things , it's not like when(no disrespect) smaller clubs Burton to Rotherham came up and were seen by some clubs as cannon fodder , both of which then did well to stay up and upset some of the 'big boys', Burton still doing that. 2) Usually easier to get an atmosphere in a small ground that's close to the pitch, but depends where you go , there have been away fans not so impressed. 3) All seater stadiums have been around for about 25 years, I think it was a requirement in the top 2 divisions from about 1994, lower divisions were exempt. So what exactly is sanitised? The clean comfortable stadium? the roomy well appointed concourses ? The fan park with food and drink available , bands or DJ's to enjoy , you even get away fans mixing in there. Or is that what you object too? 4) 45,000 , that one needs explanation, the total attendance at your non league playoff final that your lot manage to change into being how many you took? 5) You get around 9k , that's 75% . I know your lot like to juggle figures but that ones hard to deny.
  16. @JackofromSanJavier I do believe you have just outed yourself as a "pox ridden merchant seaman" oh , wait , you can't catch anything from a reply, right?
  17. Are you sure he wasn't trying to lick the window and just misjudged the distance ?
  18. It really looks to me like he lacks confidence, I said before, when he started getting a run he was constantly looking for someone to to tell him when to go, where to stand. As he's got more games at full back he's gradually grown into it and started forming a good partnership with JB. It looked similar tonight, he looked a little unsure at times, but the one where he pokes the ball to a Derby player in the box , if he doesn't play it Russell has it in the area . And he did get bullied by Jerome, but so did Flint at times.
  19. Bit tongue in cheek, but I thought his touch and awareness was good, seeing as he's been out for 3 months.
