  1. This is where the BEP/gAss love in does them no favours at all. The way they fawned over Wael when he first came in , Billionaire/saviour/15k watch , was pathetic . Now a real local paper would be asking questions not trawling through 3 years of away fans comments to find the five good ones. Evolution , not revolution, is fine . But eventually even evolution needs investment , but in the meantime lets carry the bloke down Gloucester road on OUR shoulders
  2. Maybe a touch over the top I thought he did pretty well , difficult game for anyone up there today He barely lost a header , may not have all been clean but he had 2 big units on him most of the time. The only disappointing thing for me was Bobby obviously not reading the flicks, that said he's still learning the position. Last year Duric bullied Bamba and pushed him all over the place, I think Warnock remembered that and most of the time there were two players on him. He still got countless flicks and touches and I think the partnership will improve. Milan has to get fit and Bobby will learn to read him a bit better. Not saying he was brilliant , important and kept their defence occupied , but there is more to come.
  3. I've got no problem with them slagging us off on their forum, it's perfectly normal (unlike a lot of them). We are their local ( umm rivals probably isn't the right word as you have to compete with someone to see them as a rival surely) adversaries and each hates the other, makes sense. Where they move into clown territory is like the Tweet I saw replying to the Exiled Robin. A.D added, The Exiled Robin @TheExiledRobin LJ: “Half of Bristol will be watching the draw with excitement on Thursday. Well, two-thirds of Bristol” #mindthegap A.D‏ @AaronD1355 15hA.D‏ @AaronD1355 15h. ...............Your ground wasn't even two-thirds full *********** Now if my team struggled to fill a 12,000 capacity ground and averaged about 8k, I'm sure I would hesitate about trying to take the piss out of a team that has a Stadium twice as big and an average attendance over twice as much. But I guess that's why they are the gift that just keeps on giving. Oh , and maths not a strong point either. 2/3 of 27,000 is 18,000 not 22,000.
  4. Can't see this happening , the family Wael will wan't to offload while it has some value. Bit like Ashley , but more tinpot.
  5. Not necessarily . He may have a plan to do to others what he allowed to happen to him. Get land and planning (in principle) , the manager is highly respected , the team was doing ok and they have a stadium ground . Find a gullible buyer who doesn't do due diligence , if they can find another like him , and flog the whole house of cards at a profit. Of course you have to find a right plum , and a rich one . Maybe he has another brother
  6. Saint Werburghs me , most of my mates were Red. We even ran coaches from Hanham in a later life, the City always was ours.
  7. Just thinking out loud...... Capacity 12,300 ( record attendance 12,011 ) average attendance (last year) 9,219 so to have an effect they would have to reduce capacity by about 24% . Just saying like
  8. Pretty fair assessment on the whole , I thought we dominated maybe first third of the game they had a couple of chance but FF didn't have to try too hard to keep them out , even caught a cross! Second half Ipwich were better , difficult not to be though. Bit of a threat , but we looked dangerous on the break and really could have had more. I really think that we will be even stronger when Pisano is back , but the options , all over the pitch are great now. When the subs come on they don't weaken the side at all, just a slightly different type of player. The choice of CB when Wright comes back from the break will be interesting, with EP fit and Flint and Baker playing well....... glad I'm not Johnson. FD starting to look the player we hoped he would be, Reid's stamina is amazing. Brownhill , Smith and Paterson looking very good ODowda needs to sort his end product and choices as a team we bare no resemblance to the side that played Fulham last year , the pressing is top class , long may it continue. If we go through our next 4 games WWDW I will start to believe..... BIG TIME.
  9. For every week we're looking up , is another week we're not looking down long may it continue. At the end of the season if we're. in the top 10 I'll be chuffed.
  10. If that's true they must only want 8k home gates then , 25k for special massive Wembely (or however they prowdley spell it) trips. Wish they hurry up and **** off to Admin !
  11. Bloke I know is a (TV) Derby fan , says they can't defend crosses and to have money on 4-2 with Flint headed het trick. He thought although they won 5-0 Vs Hull , Hull could have had 5. He is , however , a very strange individual so I may not be placing the bet. Just re read this. To stop any of the comments, He watches them on TV , he's not (to my knowledge) a TV .
  12. Not just a case of 2 players for each spot, in this case playing BW at RB meant they could switch to a 3 without making a sub. Vyner may have been ok , but with a more attack minded player in front of him it may have been a big ask. BW would have been a more defensive option to start with, but as I said it's an easier switch to a3 which I believe they did fairly early on. Still one of LJ's biggest fans, but you have to give credit where due, seems to have learnt a lot from last year, even from earlier this year.
  13. Can someone send the DVD (maybe video as it's them) of our last year in Div 1, not that competitive that year. To be fair he's right, if they were in any of the divisions above where there are now they wouldn't be competitive at all either.
  14. LJ likes the fullbacks to push on, and Vyner tried his best to get into forward positions and support ODowda switching positions quite well. I do think it was a big ask of a very inexperienced FB, and he did get caught out a few times. I think they had balls squared maybe 3 times and they miss kicked in front of goal, another day??? You could see he was playing to orders , I would guess if given the choice, he could have sat back and concentrated on defending and given their wide man a lot less space. We normally have Pisano bombing forward, very experienced and worldly wise , Vyner came in and we played the same way not surprisingly got exposed a few times. I think he will be better for the experience , we also coped well even if the CB's got pulled across to cover on occasions. One question which may have been asked elsewhere. WTF is going on with pushing Flint up wide halfway just to play for flick ons??? Horrible tactic , at least when we did it with JB it wasn't pulling your main central defensive partnership apart.
  15. Hah , that would be funny. And what if he admitted supporting another team, oh, and then tried to buy a third team before buying them at a fire sale. So they end up being owned by an asset stripper who company owned them from off shore and then charged them loads of money against their only asset to cover his initial stake so he wouldn't lose money. Nah, too far fetched. Not even they would carry him on their shoulders down Glos road would they, would they??
  16. Poor for the first 20 , improved to average up until HT. Started 2nd half ok for 5 minutes then back to average for the rest of the half. JB our best chance hit the bar, theirs a very good FF save and another that I couldn't tell if it hit the post or a FF save. I think we were lucky to get a point against a quite one dimensional side, closed quite well and we couldn't cope. My biggest moan, why the **** did Oneil get Odowda to float the ball into the keepers hands instead of trying to go wide from 2/3 free kicks towards the end. No service to the front men, passing was poor , movement poor and I think were lucky on several occasions.
  17. So , what you're saying is no then Didn't I see that figure as the sum set aside for the Rugby ground refurb??
  18. I may have skipped over this bit. Have they actually an application in, and does anyone know what they have 'planned' ?? Perhaps the Billionaire has sneaked in plans for a 27,001 all seater with me noticing.
  19. I really can't understand why there aren't a lot more questioning his commitment. 'Hes's one of us' 'He stands on the terrace' blah blah blah. This means nothing to the club, there have been plenty of owners who (like Wael) love the adulation, look like they mix with the fans, and meanwhile have their own agenda . Fair play if he comes up with the £25m or there abouts to build the 'stadium', a lot more for the world class stadium, but I have my doubts. He's already looked for and failed to find funding for a stadium that had a cleared plot and planning. The Rugby site could prove tricky to complete. I worked for a company who , on the face of it, was doing well. When there was a down turn and a few redundancies , I found out that nothing was owned by the company I worked for. The Building, vehicles, machinery , everything was owned by another company. This company, owned by the Directors wife as it happens, owned everything and leased /rented it back to the main company. When that company got into difficulties it was easy to wipe their hands and walk off with the assets. Just a story, thinking out loud sort of thing...... any similarities with a local no mark team/club are purely coincidental .
  20. I'm guessing that wouldn't give them rights to throw up anything without thought for the locals.
