  1. I think the most frustrating part is just how obvious the answer is. We were already struggling after significant budget cuts and lack of re-investment. Our wonderful owner/chairman/"board" then decided we didn't need any CEO, binned off the most experienced manager we've ever had, got rid of 2 other highly respected coaches and one of the best medical people we've ever had as well. They replace with an absolute nobody and essentially set him up to fail by giving him an unrealistic starting target and virtually no support from above. But hey, at least we beat Swindon under 18s
  2. I think this is actually a really interesting game, far more than it should be given our position as mid table side with the threat of being dragged into a relegation battle now eased. I'm not sold on the narrative that we're actually really good against the better teams in the league, but this match should go someway to showing that a bit clearer one way or the other
  3. Just all nonsense, isn't it? "Don't get too high, don't get too low, emotional etc" more about processes than results yet says he was delighted and that we were outstanding against Swansea. The week before against Cardiff, Mr Don't get too emotional was annoyed and angry apparently. Says he's always learning. "OK so what have you changed after learning about the team?" "Well nothing the processes are still the same, right?"
  4. I thought you were joking about the 7 Southampton mentions
  5. I got to 4:34 til he mentioned Southampton and then had to stop
  6. I'm not sure on what basis we look more solid defensively. We've conceded 15% more goals per game since Manning took over, with only 3 clean sheets in 27 games, two of those games being absolute dross 0-0 draws against the worst form teams in the league at the time.. In 8 of those 27 games we've let in at least 2 as well
  7. Not really. Depends what you mean by negative things. It can be proven that his communication skills aren't that great by just listening to him speak. It can be proven that he isn't particularly literate or professional, given that his own LinkedIn page still lists him as "Tecknical Director" among many other spelling errors. Best case scenario is someone with learning disabilities wrote it for him. Either way it's a bit of a red flag for me personally. Perhaps this is being picky; some people won't be bothered by this at all. It can be proven that he has lied and repeatedly told delusional misinformation. It can be proven that he's revealed undisclosed transfer details. It can be proven that his first team coach, Liam Manning, hasn't improved the current squad, as stated he would, given how awful we've been in so many of his games. I have absolutely no idea how good he is at scouting, or as being a director of recruitment, as I said. I can only go on what we know and can't help be sceptical given the facts.
  8. As I said, I'm not sure it can really be proven from the outside. Which is convenient seeing as he's apparently great at it. There's no doubt that the academy has certainly improved in terms of first team contribution and player sales. How much of that is down to Tinnion is hard for any of us to really know I think. I guess if you wanted proof, you'd need to speak to the players that have been brought through recently and the staff that have worked under him. I don't personally care to investigate that any further, but somebody probably should given its apparently earned him the role he's got now..
  9. Nah. I'm not at all convinced by this whole "great with the academy" stuff either. His communication is terrible and he seems pretty delusional. Those are pretty big areas that I'd want to address in someone running a high level academy. Seems pretty easy to claim he's great at something that can't be proven
  10. Maybe but I'm just trying to imagine if I was in his position, I'd be concerned with the support available to me Probably won't be because most football clubs are also badly run so I guess it's not as noticeable from the inside
  11. If Manning has anything about him, he should be considering his own position imo. Imagine working for this lot
  12. At least they're all working hard
  13. Indeed, but we're not in the final are we? So somewhat irrelevant what West Ham and Arsenal's under 18s look like. Clearly they've done well to get to the semis and have beaten some decent teams to get there, but also worth noting that the quarter final win was against Swindon ffs.
  14. I think the lie about McKenna struggling at Ipswich to start with is what annoyed me the most out of this interview. I had to look that up immediately and of course it's not even close to being true, and yet is said with such conviction. Same with almost everything else said The delusion and lies all swirl together into half an hour of nonsense Close to being done with this club
  15. The Lies of Brian
  16. With Manning being performance and process orientated, presumably he'll be as annoyed and angry as he was with the Cardiff game after this equally boring and frustrating afternoon?
  17. Main positive is at least we don't have to watch Swansea every week
  18. With the work to make space for the goal yes but it's only Sykes that's caused a problem from open play allowing for there to be a threat
  19. Sykes the only player to actually make any difference to our attack
  20. That Rob Dickie "effort" is our first of the game..
  21. Good decision I think given that Dickie was down hurt off the pitch. If we lost the ball a few seconds later, we'd be at a big disadvantage
  22. You normally have the have the ball to get fouled
  23. How can you make no changes at all after that first half?
