Swansea City at home match thread
Roe replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Then Tinnion needs to step up and tell them that it's the wrong decision and that this is not the way forward. Instead, he moved up a role himself! Either way it's pathetic all round and he deserves all criticism from it -

Made the right decision to stay home based on the first 16 minutes of nothingness -
Luckily we have such a great pipeline of young talent to fill those spaces..

Why have new managers struggled so much this season?
Roe replied to WeAreThePigs's topic in Football Chat
The "manager / head coach" is arguably the most overhyped role in all of football. Far more important is the structure behind them and the players in front. You need all 3 of those parts to align to have success. We've got none at the moment -
Perhaps I'm being too simple and maybe he does excel in this kind of role, but it also seems a pretty easy role? How much of the U18 success is based on big investment in youth levels and just talented young players they have? I struggle to see how there would be any difference with a "technical director" overseeing that. Things like sending Yeboah out on loan is easy to talk about as a good thing. "We sent Semenyo there." OK but dozens of others have been sent there and never came back.

More delusion and flat out lies, I see.

I don't think he needs to sell, but he just needs to employ competent people below him. Jon, Tinnion, Gavin Marshall etc quite clearly aren't the right people They were somewhat on the right track with Mark Ashton, other than allowing free reign to waste so much money I thought/hoped Phil Alexander would be the right person to give us the direction we needed but he was also somewhat bizarrely binned off

Based on the last 12 games Bristol City are in 23rd place in the Championship
Roe replied to Derek's topic in Football Chat
Any reason you only added 3 more games to that? -
7 out of the next 10 against teams below us
Roe replied to The Original OTIB's topic in Football Chat
Not sure if we'd be top but it's certainly not bad either. Against those teams, we've won 6, drawn 5 and lost 4. 23 points from 15 games. Was our record against the bottom teams as noticeably bad before Manning took over? -
Including the 8+ minutes of injury times when Max had more of the ball than all our attackers combined?
-
Don't worry. I'm sure Dr Lansdown is looking into this as we speak
-
It was a "much improved" performance from absolutely shite baseline. And even then we still lost and got battered last 20 minutes once Ipswich turned up
-
Probably not entirely relevant to this thread, and somewhat harsh on Manning, but I still can't help be majorly disappointed that we got rid of decent, respected, experienced football people (Pearson, Flemming, Euell, Rennie) and replaced them with this. What a waste
-
Can't be bothered to watch but surely he didn't actually say only 1 bad performance in 20??
-
Obviously it was just one game and it's not fair to purely judge Manning on that, but it still seems so bizarre to me that we've replaced a manager with a lower level one that got hammered by us in the same season I'd imagine that might be the only time that's ever happened Pearson must be just so baffled

Sheffield Wednesday away match thread

I'm off. See you in the prem -
Different level but Sheffield United look even worse than us! Brighton 2-0 and cruising
-
So, at this moment, where do you actually WANT us to finish this season?
Roe replied to Leveller's topic in Football Chat
Weird thread imo. You want to do as well as possible surely? -
Clearly an own goal. Nice bit of skill to put in the cross though
-
1 game at a time, I think. Saturday is a really good opportunity to solidify our place in the top half (at least for now) and from there who knows. Plenty of time left in the season for a decent push. Maybe we are a top 10 team after all..
-
LM has by far the best starting point of any manager we've had in my time watching (25 years or so). Perhaps it's not entirely fair, but he's absolutely gonna get judged based on how he builds from that

Not saying you're saying this, but the idea that our players weren't being "coached" before Manning came in is absurd
-
I watched the first half on a stream. Actually thought we looked alright, although a lot of it was Norwich looking awful Was out for the second half so didn't see any but not all that surprised we caved
