  1. He’s doing the age old, ‘old school’ if I just come in and be really strict (a total bellend) it’ll really assort my dominance (everyone will think I’m a ****).

Same as publicly stating everyone who works for the club needing to be ‘in the office’ 5 days a week. What difference will that make?

I thought Manning was spot on about Conway too. It sounds like we’ve made him a good offer, the ball is in his court and it’s not ideal that he hasn’t signed the contract. All of those things are just common sense.

I find the whole Conway situation disappointing if I’m honest. With Scott and Semenyo, you could see that they were a clear class above and that a move to the Premier League was inevitable. I just don’t think that’s the case with Conway yet. He’s a good player, but as Manning said when he talked about a player’s journey going quicker than that of the club, it doesn’t feel like he’s outgrown us yet in the way the other two had. Therefore, I think that signing for us would be good for his continued development as a player.

I suspect that his agent has asked for silly wages though so I imagine he’ll be on his way. I do get it, and understand he will be able to get a better deal elsewhere. I also understand more than most that football is an extremely fragile career. I’ll just be disappointed to see him go when he’s still got so much improving to do and BCFC would be a great place for him to do it.

I think it’s a combination of his agent, family, and having an insight into the new life his pal (Scott) now has after he moved up to the prem & all that entails.

  3. Celebrating drawing 0-0 with Man City which was a must win, longing for spurs to win a game.

Arsenal fans are the ******* weirdest fanbase in the country, and no one can convince me otherwise. Absolutely lovely that they’ve had two consecutive seasons of getting all excited only to have their hopes slashed late on.

He had the same injury and the same "repair" as Rob Atkinson, a week apart. They were both told they would be ready for pre season and that it's a proven operation that has a great success rate.

That’s good news if so & a relief! Had heard otherwise.

Herbie Kane good option if he leaves city boy too - leaving Barnsley when contract expires constant performer in league 1. Just don’t know if he has the demands to be a midfield presser what LM wants

Re Janes, King and Weimann leaving and the club/ team losing all that experience.

Firstly it will need other players to step up.

Also, with players like James, King and Weimann in and around the team is it possible the some of the younger players don't feel they can stick their heads above the parapet in deference to the senior players?

Perhaps it might just be that a new batch of on field leaders will emerge once the deck's been cleared.

I was walking behind him en route from Cheltenham Spa station to the racecourse, on the Wednesday of Cheltenham fest 2022.

Easily the most pissed bloke I saw all day, could hardly walk straight, at about 11am too.

    Get him in.

I’d berate it for making the start of the season boring. Need some deadline day rush endorphins.

Wow really, that bad?? Benarous I can understand moreso but Bell?

Perhaps a 6 month loan, with an option to extend it make permanent could be one avenue if Bell and Benarous still out for months to come.

We just feel a bit light, not so much on Manning but while the recruitment has been good post 2021 and good value I just have these nagging doubts about an overall cohesive strategy.

Bell was a “very serious” hamstring tear

The possible wide player target was a new one.

    Cornick, Sykes

    Bell, Mehmeti

Benarous can play along the midfield too.

Clearly quality for the right price shouldn't be dismissed but is it a priority position- who goes?

Midfield, Knight, Bird, TGH, Williams just feels one too light although Naismith can play there too..feels like we are taking chances again with depth, versatility etc.

I personally see Cornick being shifted on. Bell will probably do well to play this side of Christmas, same with Benarous.

CM is a worry for me too.

The comments came accross in a way to me that could potentially cause more harm than good.

On the one hand Mr Manning is saying he wants players to be all in and that players shouldn't jump ship etc, but that's exactly what he himself did at Oxford.

We all know that if say a Southampton came in for Manning 2moro he'd be gone so that talk he gave is just rubbish really.

I think most of us would say Manning jumped from league one to the Championship too soon, but here he is criticising players for wanting to also progress their careers.

I don’t think you can compare the two tbh. The situation is very different.

Tommy is out of contract, and has had his chance to show commitment to the club for the best part of a year, and hasn’t.

He isn’t bigger than the club, and we shouldn’t be bending over backwards for him, in the same way that we didn’t for Massengo.

FWIW there’s also no doubt in my mind Manning would be managing in the championship right now, if we hadn’t have come in for him. But that’s a moot point.

For those who are interested .

Considering he’s said before he doesn’t get involved in the transfers or contract discussions, can’t imagine he’ll have too much to say

I went there during lockdown when it was 2-4-1 or whatever the dopey scheme was that the chancellor introduced (Sunak) thought it was poor, not a patch on the two round the corner Dhamaka & Urban Tandoori

Interesting, I’d definitely recommend going back now though as that was a fair while ago.

Hartley was fantastic. Best understanding of the game we've had in midfield period imo.

His vision hasn't been matched before or since.

His comments on twitter the other day were completely precious. Behaving as if he's somehow being insulted personally.

I always chuckle at the ‘forum is so toxic / everyone is a ****’ type comments on Twitter.

Just a quick scroll through the profile of the poster, and it’s more often than not all filled with preaching about freedom of speech, and RTs of videos of how ‘unsafe’ London is now, and any other similar themes you can all guess correctly on….

I know we’ve got our ‘Champagne Moment’ of the season but I was wondering what their MD20/20 moment of the season was?

    1) Forgetting to fax the paperwork off when trying to sign JCH

    2) 75 fans to Fleetwood

    3) losing 5-0 to Lincoln

    4) Their ‘Daddy’ getting sacked and replaced by Arnold Rimmer

    5) Their club suggesting disabled fans are abnormal

    6) Breaking their own record for consecutive games without a goal after selling their best player for £4 million less than they said he was worth.

    7) Having their attendances beaten by our Women’s team

I may have missed out many others.

Personally I think the whole JCH **** up takes some beating.

Theres no doubt in my mind that the new owners had no intention of signing JCH, and the paperwork thing is just a terrible cover up.

I think Burnley changed too much of their starting 11 and chased it too much

Benson as an example was great in the Champ but has had ad hoc minutes

Pushed too hard and lost what worked

Kompany and co were so ******* ignorant and naive it’s actually quite staggering.

Consider the insane amount of PL experience they all carry, the fact they thought they could win promotion and try and play the exact same expansive, open way is incredible.

To start that way, realise your mistakes, and then alter it quickly is one thing. To be so stubborn you think it’s the right way to go about things, despite getting embarrassed every week, that you don’t change a thing is truly bizarre.

The fact a few months ago he said he was finding it easier to manage at the level than he was anticipating, is the cherry on top.

    He’s basically far too bullish.

    I like his enthusiasm.

But I feel sometimes it’s like the focus is the kids.

It’s cause he needs something to bang the drum over, as he can’t really harp on about anything else, and the academy is his real actual passion isn’t it.

Weve spoken about this before, but he’s putting far, far too much pressure & expectation on the next batch coming through with his comments imo. Especially now the first team playing style will be totally different to previous structure.

    Not negotiating for Twine then?

“Hello, we’d like to sign R Twiney on a perm. He loves it here. £2m. “

”Hi…uh…Brian wasn’t it? We told you in January we wanted minimum £4m. He’s actually of more importance to us now, so it’s still £4m minimum.”

”Loud and klear. Please take this email as a formal bid of £2m.”

”Hi there, thanks for this. Did you read our previous email? It stated £4m as a starting point. He has 2 years on his deal and isn’t a big earner, so we have no need to sell.”

    ”…..£2m?”
