If we keep it One nil down at half time we can still make a game of this but we will have to start taking a few risks and maybe shake it up with a few subs... Either way this was always going to be a tough game

Wow Wilbs is rested! Not that I though the was the reason we conceded 4 in the first half , happy to see baker back in the side . Wouldn't be suprised to see wilbs start again on Sat but the rest will do him a world of good.

We had a good chance of a win against the league's pace setters . listening on the radio it sounded like the game could of gone either way but Brighton brought quality subs near the end. If cotts can trust in his whole squad ( or have a plan b) more maybe we will see wilbs rested more.Of course that's easier Said then done when we don't see the players train week in week out.

I couldn't make it due to work commitments , just shows how much we need some quality experienced players who have been there done it at this level . Boys against men and hell is it showing gotta feel for Kodjia . I really would splash out on a midfield defender with experience at this level or I wonder if we stand a chance of staying up . Then again would such players want to join us ?

Its going to be a long long season , sadly it sounds like mk dons deserved it . Crazy thing Is there is having a lack of confidence and there is not being able to keep a lead at home against mk dons !

The most frustrating thing about today's performance was Reading didn't even come out of 2nd gear all game! I can't even be borthed to Moan about any individual players , as it was a all round awful game by the whole team .

Chuffed with the result did have a sneaky feeling we could grind a result a draw but 3 points is great and makes me believe we can kick on but we Stoll need to bring in more competition. It would be great if Reid has more game time and another academy product coming into the team. He may even keep Freeman out as Freeman wasn't on great form the games before. No one should be an automatic starter although I would expect for Freeman to come straight back in .maybe if we want a more attacking midfield we could swap Reid for pack or Reid in a 5 man midfield If we needed to rest wilbs or he got injured.

If we play clever football and have the rub of the green we may win this. I'm not under estimating Boro though they have quality on their bench.

I really hope Reid takes this chance like Bryan did but he has two games to prove himself before Freeman is back. Good to see Little starting be suprised if he lasts longer then 60 minutes though.

We had a decent first half but a sloppy mistake and we concede the 2nd and our heads to down fair play to the subs making a impact and cotts bringing them on early enough for them to make a impact. We do need some leadership/experience alongside Smith and Flint. Also its easy to forget Hamer hasn't had a pre season so this first few games pretty much are his preseason and building a under standing between him and the defence esp Flint. Smith was my man of the match.

I couldn't see from the ss if it was a penalty but hammer seemed to rush out and then put his arms out for the player whether he dived or not but he s got to be a lot wiser . The 2nd goal was us once again getting caught on the break and not blaming flint soley but he was he nowhere land. I can't but think he would be better suited with Someone alongside him ie in a back four rather then back 3 where we are so stretched . We got a point because we went for broke and Leeds Sat back , Leeds weren't anything special . Also we need to cut out cross field balls to our wingbacks . Which we did mostly 2nd half. Having said that if Kodjia took his first half chance in first few mins or made it 1-1 just before half time. Didn't have a bad game but had no service 2nd half .

I'm not too worried about losing today 1st games of the season are Always nervy and sometimes won by teams who have had a better pre season. It's interesting to see in match stats we had 58% possession.I would of thought that was mostly from passing back and forth between the midfield and defence . Wednesday were organised and were quick to put us under pressure once we entered there half.although in the first half they edged it we had no real clear cut chances until the burns chance. Today we knew who would play in the midfield and have no pressure on there places all summer . You do have to wonder if this played a factor today . There seemed to be not many players making runs other than our strikers+ Freeman . Using our wing backs a lot becoming very predict able . I would of liked to have seen Cotterill be bold and try 3 up front as we only had a chance with burns due to a set play .

Not great defending all round but what was fielding doing! Frustrating to get caught on the break .

Robinson is only our threat off the bench but our main problem is the midfield and we only have a half fit wagstaff to come on

First game of the season let's write off a player .... Pack hasn't been great but I think he s trying too hard . Lucky not to have yellow mind. The midfield needs to be more confident on the ball and not pass to the Wing backs every game ! May well see Robinson come on in a while if we don't create any chances .

Had meant Freeman as part of the front 3. As Smith is used to sitting back where pack plays so means both are deep rather then just one

I think this game would of been ideal for jet to start .. Good to see pack keeping his place and Bryan back in . I prefer pack over Elliot although Smith must push more forward otherwise front 3 are too isolated .

There is playing badly and there is not defending at all...feel sorry for city fans who are there today! It is early enough to turn things around but only if Colchester sit back and invite pressure. Also for our defense improve massively!

Really think we need to rest flint early as soon as possible ! Seeing as cotts doesn't trust Osbourne nd if flint got injured after Jan we d have to rely on the loan market .

I wouldn't be that surprised to see Matt Smith replace pack , for our play to be a Lot of long balls. while wade Smith is out. I think it could a short term solution and to be honest don't care if everyone watches us on sky and calls us a route one team as long as we win to stay top. We can't play pretty passing football all of the time.

This is really poor by the club with barely a week until the game . Yes it is better for the team but all city fans have worked there bank holiday to suit the game . Let alone those who have to work bank holidays . Also got a voicemail from the club about season ticket renewal this morning yet nothing about the date of notts county It actually helps me as I'm away on the sat and not Fri so im glad but was expecting to miss it so feel very sorry for fans who cant make it / lost money .
