I found it funny when the unenthusiastic participation in the EE (I think it was the Bournemouth game) was about 25% and they booed themselves.
Exactly.
Its just a bit of nonsense.
I used to like it when for the bigger games, most of the b block in the dolman would stand and sing. If I didn’t have the kids I think I would probably go down there for the more tasty games.
Although my middle aged back kills me if I sit down for an hour

Yes.

Well it certainly made a change that all the crowd joined in with them, rather than the East End shouting them down with their own chants like kids throwing their toys out of the pram.
While we're at it, it pisses me off when they ask other parts of the ground to bounce around, and then boo them no matter how well they respond. ******* "superfans".
I think you’re reading a bit too much into this PSR.
In the last 32 years I’ve stood on the east end, then went E Block Atyeo, then B Block Dolman, then the far corner of the Williams, then back to the east end when it re opened, then followed it around the Williams, Atyeo and finally the south stand.
There are no super fans, nobody shouts down ‘other songs’, people like to just stand and sing and swear and shout. Nobody really takes any notice and for every song somebody starts that gets going, the next one invariably fails and you’d never even know. I’ve started thousands of songs and also looked like a numpty when nobody joined in. I really couldn’t care.
Just like when I’ve stood in these areas all my life, there are young’uns, old’uns, men and women, all stood there bound by the shared decision that this is how they wish to experience football.
And finally, yes, it’s now become somewhat of a pantomime tradition to boo after the ‘bounce arounds’ probably dating back to when nobody in the Williams did Just go with it, it’s funny, you know it’s going to happen!

Booing other parts of the ground is stupid but it's very much part of the type of humour I think - tongue in cheek
Absolutely this.
Its become part of the ‘pantomime’ to boo the other areas after their ‘bounce around’
If I were the other areas I’d laugh or applaud as you know it’s coming

It was scrappy.
Barnsley had better shape, but we still created chances and could’ve had 3.
I don’t know, I understand who we are and hope to finish between 12-15.
As long as we stay up this year I would be happy.
I didn’t expect us to play great football or dominate teams this year.
I expect it will take a couple of transfer windows (assuming we have funds!) to begin to sort this out.
I think it’s going to become quite boring listening to the same narrative of whether we win, lose or draw, “but we’re not very good are we?”
No shit, I ******* know that.
Heres another newsflash, due to the cluster **** created by Steve and Mark, it ain’t going to be very good for a while and I don’t believe another coach somehow polishes the turd.
Lets just dig in, support the team and just try to manufacture some points here and there, like we have done to this point.

I have.
Oxford v City, Jan 1999. I counted a rally of 14 that day.

Serious question, but when all those of you are in the concourse and we score, do you all celebrate madly or just a little fist pump?
I don’t go under at halftime.
I sit down and read One Team

I’m still confused as to which Hampshire Red you are
You are entertaining though, whoever you are.

The frustrating thing was when we actual played football we looked good (scored twice!).
I don’t know why we shrink into our shells when if we keep on the front foot they didn’t have an answer.
We really miss Joe Williams.

They weren’t dominating at all….it was a scrappy half, a pretty even half. Bugs me that just because they were leading he thinks they were dominating. Had our passing been a bit tighter we would’ve ripped their high line apart, which is what we threatened to do and eventually did.
Absolutely. I know we struggle in areas at the moment, but calm down Barnsley.
On that performance I’d happily play them every week.
They may say the same about how us, but i didn’t see anything in them that concerned me.
Our own frailties gave them impetus, but even with that they didn’t strike me as being able to construct anything of note.

I was quite emotional, there seemed to be a real belief that we could win just through sheer force of will, it's worth noting that some of the chants were being started by the South Stand section behind the goal rather than the "East End", The One Step Beyond moment as we were leaving was excellent, I had a little dance with one of the stewards, it was a such a feeling of relief more than anything else.
I was going mental for our brace.
Shouting at the rest of the section to start getting behind the team only to realise loads had already popped under the stand
It just had that feeling today.

I don’t have any experience of journalism, so when people constantly moan about our local correspondents, what exactly are you moaning about? What would a good correspondent be doing?
I genuinely don’t know. Aren’t they reporters rather than investigative journalists?

I thought the fans were brilliant today ,boo them when they were shit and sat off the ball and that was correct to let em know they weren’t committed enough , then when needed the whole ground was stood up and cheering them over the line , not heard it that loud for a long time COYR
I know what you’re saying, but after their goal went in we needed to lift the place.
I was as pissed as the next person but with still 2 thirds if the game to go against poor opponents, I felt we didn’t need to be too negative.
Shame so many missed our brace

I thought Martin should’ve come off too…needed Bell’s legs to chase stuff down.
I watched him and Bakinson today, Christ did he take a beating. The stuff you can get away with throw-ins!

The truth is we got to give these players a go as we don’t really have a lot else to turn to.
Yeah he look a yard off, but it’s about development.

Looked a yard off it today. Makes you appreciate HNM and his contribution since he was 17/18

How has Benarous done?
A step up for him today.
Good for him to experience the increase in tempo and physicality at the level

Fair play. For me, Bakinson was one of the few that did anything positive in the first 40 minutes.
Great feet and I can see how he cruised through academy football.
His problem is the moment the pace picks up or play becomes frantic at round him it just passes him by.

What a job Martin does at times.
Hes been elbowed, pushed, kicked, by two defenders at almost every city set piece.
Throw ins are the worst.

Maybe you should ask your guide dog?
He’s struggling as well.
Don’t worry he barks, when he finally sees something

I’ve watched Bakinson closely today to see if I can understand what he brings.
No news yet, but will report back at full time
