Actually, facts say different. LJ improved us year on year.

    2015/16 : Won 13 : Pts 52 : Pos 18th
    2016/17 : Won 15 : Pts 54 : Pos 17th
    2017/18 : Won 17 : Pts 67 : Pos 11th
    2018/19 : Won 19 : Pts 70 : Pos 8th  (19 winning games in a season is the highest since 2007/08 since his father won 20, albeit in League One}

We've not improved on those figures since he was dismissed, and neither have Sunderland since his dismissal there.

The facts are there for all to see......except for those who choose not to.

Shudder, please don’t remind us of somehow finishing 11th in 17/18

or beating derby in February and being 3 points off of second.

Im sure we were even in the playoffs in 19/20 at some point.

So much at his disposal yet so many capitulations.

  2. There were people there last night actively putting little kids who honestly wouldn’t have had a clue what was going on, onto the pitch.

    Thats ridiculous.

Yes, it is completely different to celebrating promotion or a last minute winner in a quarter final.

  3. I felt we sorely missed Willians coming and collecting it.

Massengo and Scott wanted the ball but they rarely just dropped 10 to collect it, then turn and go.

Lots of progress still to come.

I love what we’re building and the ethos and team that’d shaping.

  4. On Saturday there was something spontaneous about it and I just laughed.

Tonight parents were actively trying to get their kids on the pitch.

I think a couple of people tried to stop them but just got a face full for their efforts.

Watched the Winter Olympics closing ceremony which included the handover to the next Games in Milano-Cortina. The montage had some very familiar music that reminded me of something

  6. Whilst the more mature football fan in me questioned the recklessness of such an over the top tackle and booking in the first 15 minutes, the more honest football fan on me couldn’t help but chuckle gleefully with my mate, who through a shared broad smile uttered ‘what a dirty ****’ ?

I love the way that when we lose it’s entirely the fault of the players (usually  O’Dowda and/or Vyner) and never the manager; but when we win it’s because of Nigel’s tactical genius ??.   He got lucky today because Bentley played a blinder…

    How did he get lucky?

Genuine question. I thought we set up really well to contain a rampant Boro of late.

One of my frustrations this years is that more often than not our set has been fine for the game, just ridiculous errors costing goals.

This is the one thing that I find so cringeworthy. It's akin to watching a documentary or a film of a true event only to find something has been added/altered to make it more of a "nice" story. Rant over ?

I think everyone knows that nobody had a ‘dream’ just like there weren’t any ‘heroics’, it must have been a distressing, awful time for everyone involved.

Im just thankful that it got sorted but respectful of the fact that these 8 players gave up their jobs to do so.

Pring and Benerous will improve greatly too.

Academy with more to come in next couple of years also.

    Not all doom and gloom.

Nice to hear NP give the Academy a decent mention in the Thursday press conference.

Absolutely I accept Pearson is constrained somewhat by our financial predicament, but i believe he’s just what our academy lads need. He’s sets a great example in work ethic, he’s seems honest with them and is garnering loyalty and respect. He also shows through interaction with others, what isn’t acceptable.

    Interesting couple of years ahead.

  10. My problem with the refs recently is their inability to see when a defender Sheilds  a ball and readies himself to fall forward the moment an opposition players is within 1 foot of them.

It’s a dive. Stop falling for it!

To give a different view, if we allow a team 2/3 of possession, would you not expect them to have more fouls?

Thought it was a little quiet at times today across the ground

It certainly wasn’t Cardiff at home ?

I like standing in that corner, my kids love all the excitement there, infact every kid who’s come along with us has loved it there. Plus it’s the only place I can scream and shout what I like, which is pretty much what i enjoy at football ?

The are currently NO TRAINS currently running in the region
GWR have announced that they will be checking every inch of track in the area to ensure it is safe and clear

ONLY then will they start to run any kind of service.
Obviously trains and staff are going to be in the wrong place to start with.

Minimal service not expected to start before 10am, but by mid afternoon it is hoped a near normal service will be running

I'll update later when I hear anything more

Would this included trains to London this morning?
