It is indeed, and actually involves what is known as 'land reclamation', a means by which people will now be able to walk uninterrupted between Hammersmith and Putney Bridges - previously, there was no way through and walkers had to make a detour.

Judging from some of the artists impressions, this will be no run of the mill stand.

That's correct Phil. It's been a really interesting  rebuild to follow (not as much as ours though!) and it's going to be a beast of a stand. I can't wait to see it and will hopefully sit it one day.

As for him evading the stewards I was told previously that they aren’t allowed to chase pitch invaders like they did.

I like this approach as by the time he got to the center circle he didn't know what to do with himself and looked like a right muppet!

Yeah police arnt bothered these days. The problem used to be that we shared stewards and thus there wasn't enough to go around. I'm assuming that's no longer a problem.

Policing is also taken into account, but their "crowds" are so low these days this is probably irrelevant unless it's a big name or local opposition as mentioned above.

I'd have to disagree there. The point is that the word holocaust has only very recently been appropriated solely to the Nazi concentration camps, and those of us from an older generation (I'm 65) are used to using it in a wider context. The etymology is actually from Greek (via Latin) meaning "wholly burnt" and if you'd asked me ten years ago for an example of a holocaust I would have mentioned "nuclear holocaust" (as some have) in reference to Hiroshima and Nagasaki or the firebombing of Dresden - all Allied actions. The Nazi death camps have been discussed for 75 years or more, but I'm sure "The Holocaust" in reference to them is relatively recent. Language changes, but holocaust remains a valid word to use to describe a firestorm.

Now I'm not suggesting that Joey Barton had all this in his mind (or anything much at all) when speaking, but I doubt he was consciously referencing Nazi atrocities. It is possible he was familiar with the wider and more correct usage.

Can we not drop this now, please? Or if you wish to discuss it further, perhaps someone could create a thread elsewhere? This thread is for laughing at Rovers. Cheers

Taking 250 to Barrow, Hartlepool and Colchester...phenomenal indeed !!! Never ceases to amaze me.

Haven't you heard they have sold out their allocation of 500 for Harrogate. In fact if they had been given 1000 they would have sold out.

I still cant understand why our allocation is limited to 570 when the ground will be nowhere near full. I really dont want to go in another part of the ground- it seems crazy that it is sometimes difficult to support your team away when we consider that we are talking about second div football and playing a team who average less than half their capacity. I found the same on few occasions when we were in the Conference- I know we get good support away and you have to get in early at times not yo be disappointed but I dont think enough is being done to maximise opportunities for all those that want to go to be able to.

    Yeah right, that sounds familiar....

I feel sorry for Pring, he’s been one of our best players this year (in games Iv seen) playing in a new left wing/left forward role, then gets moved to left back for one game (where he has a poor game) and now is out of the team meaning we have to go back to 352/3412 because we don’t have many wide options.

Lost count of how many diff formations we have tried this year…..

Was just saying this to someone in the pub pre-game. I'd like to see more of Pring and almost feel like he isn't being given enough chances.

I assume there's a reason for that however,  but you never know...

As it's an EFL issue I assume that punishment could potentially continue to be dolled out to Derby even if/when they are in L1? Presumably it isn't confined to the Championship just because that is the division within which they committed their sins.

That's correct. The only time the EFL can't intervene is if a club get promoted to The Premier League. (You may know that but just using it as an example) The EFL can still dish out punishments if Derby end up in League One (or even League Two!)

I assume if a team called something Rovers got relegated out of EFL to non League then again, the EFL wouldn't be able to apply punishments,  but unsure about that one.

  8. Really please to see Tammy doing well and get a standing ovation after his 2 assists. Yes there's that small connection (loan) to us, but I personally think he is a very talented player and I'd like to see him succeed and go on to some very good things. Possibly not quite at his top technical ability just yet, but I'm confident that will come with time. I just hope (like a few of the other young English talent out there at the moment) he doesn't blow it on cars, girls, and trips to Dubai and stays focused on his career.
