I'll guess that they have lumped a bundle at some planning professionals who have reviewed things and in their view, it's worth proceeding with.

I don't see them restarting the works without some assurance.

You are forgetting who we are dealing with here Rob....

  2. I queued for a very long time time twice on Saturday.

One thing I did notice having visited  2 different outlets both before the match and at half time was that they were not pre-pouring pints. I know pre-poured pints have been criticised on here before but if it halves the queuing time then I'm all for it.

But it did work for me, and I am on Android (with a thick phone case) So not sure what the problem was? Certainy wasn't implying the user was the problem, It was just an observation...

On reflection this isn't the best response, as anyone could have had an issue for any number of reasons.  @REDOXO you are right, so I hope this all gets sorted for everyone and there are no issues in the future. ?

They way some say ‘it worked for me’ makes me laugh. It can read like if it didn’t work for you you’re the problem.

I see there was problems with Android and quite a few update/.releases have been made to the ticket sales portions.

Hopefully it will all get sorted!

I can assure DarrellsPupGas that, of the things that keep me awake at night, the Scum being bought by another “wealthy” charlatan ranks an emphatic last on the list.

While they rub their hands (and moisten their pants) in glee at becoming the next Newcastle, back on this planet this is the stark reality for “dA pRIDE oF bRISTOL”.IMG_7433.thumb.jpeg.a17a8b5f61f5da508c7cdfad89b555e1.jpeg

    Is that their new stand?

It's looking like it will be a sell out on Saturday in the home areas. It's going to be absolute chaos isn't it?

Let's wait and see - Perhaps it won't?

If they had any sense they’d either do what Luton did and either try and swap to playing away or postponing

Although not sure the EFL would be so lenient if they postponed given the circumstances

Not only that, Luton made that decision when they did to give the PL, and everyone else concerned for that matter, plenty of notice. If Rovers don't get an announcement out this week and then ask the EFL if they can postpone their game, they may not be so forgiving...

Interesting, so not having a mobile phone is a refusing to evolve and an indicator of fear.... so, using your logic the same must apply to people that don't own a car, TV, PC, digital watch etc.

I'm doing just fine with my horse and cart, thank you.

They now think their prices are much cheaper bearing in mind their shit facilities , their lower position in the league ( for last 23 years )

Couldn't agree more. £419 for their South Stand complete* with imaginary concourse and things called pillars, compared to £385 for our (permanent structure) South Stand.

People get used to change very quickly, even old stagers like me (I'm 74). I always used to pay with cash for drinks and odds and ends, when out and about, until post lock down. Then many places started to only accept card payments, so I had to change. Now I never carry any cash as its so much easier to just have a couple of cards in my phone case. No lose change or wallet taking up space in my pockets.  Digital ticketing will mean there will be one more thing I don't have to carry.  I'm looking forward to the day when I can have a chip inserted to my head that can be scanned for entry / when I want to pay for things. As long as there's a card option for those who want it there's no problem.

Could you imagine turning up at Ashton Gate and everyone had to headbutt the ticket scanner to get in... it would be quite a sight! ?

Now here's an old bloke question for you young 'uns.  Not been a ST holder for a few years but now back in the UK, I have to go for it.

Is the ST a physical thing that I keep in my ar5e pocket OR is it an app thingie on a mobile phone that I have to wave at a laser scanner?  Dumb question, I know......but it's an age thing!  Any thoughts welcome just in case I need to go on a mobile phone training course.  Thanks in advance.

  12. I just hope Inter bring it together and play some good football tonight instead of diving around all over the place, as we have seen in the last 2 European Finals.

They can play good football when they want to and it could be a great game.

Decent article , although I don’t see how they moan about parking when it’s parking permits everywhere .

does anyone know when the next phase of building is due to start ? Wikes etc obviously have a lease on those buildings

The roads on the south side of North Street (I.e. nearest Ashton Gate) do not have a residents parking scheme.

Is it really worth it? Shouldn't we just be happy with our lot?

Classic. You do make me laugh with your posts ?

And that’s also why they are called Milan and not Milano, ie the anglicised name of the City. And, for similar reasons, why one of the two Genova clubs is called Genoa.

I did also wonder that, so thanks Dave! I do love this forum sometimes.

The initial post was only really in jest, but I've actually learned two new things!

The AC stands for Associazione  Calco which translated means Football Club.  So in English AC Milan are Milan FC.

The club was founded by English expats and was originally called the Milan Football and Cricket Club.

Thank you. I knew the first part but not the second. Very interesting!

  17. Funny isn't it? City are Bristol City, not Bristol. You can't call Manchester City 'City' because they are, well, Manchester City. You can't say Sheffield because there's two Sheffield clubs.

But AC are called Milan and Inter Milan are called Inter. I'm lost.

One of the most thrilling PL that I’ve ever seen. Two fantastic teams going hammer and tongs at each other.

it had everything. Flowing football, penalty miss, terrific saves fro Ramsdale, crunching tackles. A draw was a fair result.

    What a brilliant game!

Couldn't agree more. A thoroughly entertaining game right to the end.

If you watch the replays, Robertson grabs the linos arm...lino reacts by moving his arm away and in doing so connects with Robertson.

Nothing in it. Don't put your hands on ref or lino...simple.

For what it's worth that's exactly how I saw it. Robertson shouldn't have his hand there in the first place, although it still doesn't look great from Constantine Hatzidakis.
