  1. I remember that one too, the non called Norwood red. Think @Olé might have referred to it on Twitter at the time penalty wise?
  2. Wasn't there a possible penalty v Sheffield United in November too? Or was that an unawarded free kick right on the edge?
  3. I cannot recall if that was a penalty or a clear foul and red card, last man perhaps.
  4. Saw it on Twitter the other day, wasn't in our club produced highlights for some reason.. Will try to find it.
  5. When we played well v Watford, the atmosphere improved significantly. As the team were visibly putting in a shift after the terrible Lincoln game, the atmosphere was decent and grew which perhaps also pushed the side on. Is it the team's job to lift the crowd or the crowd's job to lift the team would be the million dollar question. What should be first?
  6. Yeah the bigger the guaranteed profit, the better from that perspective. It is now a working assumption on my part that the Covid add-backs specifically the transfer market revenue one, have us just inside but with no room to add anyone else though I would caution that all results are being reviewed by the CFRP hut that's for another day. Without transfer add-backs I woukd estimate our revenue losses at not exceeding £17m in the 2 Covid seasons and £2.5m last season. Maybe £5-6m per season in FFP accounts for 2019-20 and the same I 2020-21..whereas £6-7m last season. Tbis is my estimate based purely on what we can estimate in public domain. -£9.5-10.5m in the combined Covid average. -£19-20m last season. Would mean an FFP loss not exceeding £8.5-10.5m. That again depends on the transfer add-back question I expect. Remember too the £2.5m Covid allowance cor last season is not applied to accounts this year and it wouldn't be loss minus FFP cost minus £2.5m=FFP, it's going to be loss - FFP cost=FFP.
  7. Depends on what sort of deal they want, or what sort of subsidy they would be offering I suspect. Besides why would they recall from Stoke only to loan him to another lower midtable Championship club.
  8. Largely aligned with Dave on this one, my big caveat and unknown is the whole Covid add-back thing. Transfer revenue I just don't see it...but only time will tell. If it's just regular revenue losses and we disregard potential transfer stuff well I reckon maybe we are currently £12m in the red but have varied different models of allowances and where I certainly agree with Dave is that it spending say £5m now (amortisation of average length 2.5 year deal say) would add £1m in amortisation now and £2m per year moving forward. Certainly manageable plus whatever in wages. Ok that would make more sense, assumed it was a £25m straight fee that was being asked for?
  9. They won't be pursuing their interest in January anyway if it remains at £25m IMO. Rights and wrongs aside they'll move on in this window.
  10. Business neglected is an interesting term Louie. Right now I would say we are managing the scenario as best we can but neglected is a good word. The 3-5 years of expenditure and a risky business model not being reined in by either Lansdown? That IS neglect, absolute negligence really. That past lack of oversight has helped to put us where we are today. I think we will stay up if injuries are relatively kind to us, and who knows we might be able to get one or two in.
  11. The problem is we have no choice. You talk of cutting corners vs off field benefits, not pursuing the off field benefits in this instance factors in avoiding an embargo and or points deduction. Which would certainly push us closer to League One if we fell foul.
  12. Interesting development. https://www.footballinsider247.com/man-city-ffp-busting-plan-in-peril-amid-50m-reveal-sources/ An Independent regulator by the sound could have real strong powers, talk of 5 year bans from Football if misleading financial returns!? I think Man City are a lot more legit now than they once were but an outright cap on RPTs would be real new ground.
  13. Don't think you think that's a bit ott? Pre redevelopment there was East End (yes I know adjusted for modern times), at various times Dolman A and B, Dolman G replaced by the end of the subbers were on the move and at times Atyeo Block H. Post redevelopment certain things haven't helped. Lansdown Stand size combined with demographics means a consistent atmosphere has been unlikely, as many mention the fap between away fans and some of our livelier ones, doesn't help. Some games have been quite good but not a great number post redevelopment IMO.
  14. Tanner dropped? Vyner-Kalas-Atkinson-Pring
  15. Tend to agree on this and I'm glad you mentioned the goal issue because at home last 4 League games. v Sheffield United- 16 shots, 0 goals v Watford- 9 shots, 0 goals v Stoke-14 shots, 1 goal v West Brom- 8 shots, 0 goals The shot data itself isn't too bad especially in conjunction with tightening up a bit. 7 of the shots v West Brom came in 1st half and they also hit their own bar at 1-0 which doesn't count towards. Like I say shot data not too bad... ...Conversion into goals however! Well.
  16. Am glad to hear some common sense has prevailed.
  17. It seems to vary granted. To me if stood up the back couple of rows and not drinking or vaping or blocking other views, well the club should just do nothing, intervening causes more bad feelings than it solves tbh. (I don't agree with the alcohol rule either, Government need to look at that properly. Vaping I couldn't care less but presumably that is national legislation again).
  18. There are different factors at play too. I don't think the acoustics in the Atyeo are especially fantastic but it seems that the older the stand the better the acoustics in a lot of cases- hence why the EastEnd was excellent in this respect. I'm generalising a bit. Agree on the clean and corporate side, modern grounds have headed that way. Sunderland decent atmosphere agreed, think Watford at home also decent but that was because we put it in on the pitch, crowd responded and it was good all round. Talking wider atmosphere here- can big away followings help with atmosphere in the ground as a whole? Always an interesting debate. As for away outsinging home or being noisier in a given stand I think that is inevitable in a lot of cases. You generally okay mahbe I'm outraged habe some harder core fans as a percentage in am away end, travelled a long way going to make most of it, more likely to stand than home for a range of reasons, start drinking earlier that can help. No one size fits but a lot of factors feed in.
  19. I wonder if even the loan market is accessible without either: a) Managing to offload some wages to fund it. b) A player sale...we all know which candidates are likely there. c) Parent club subsidising it greatly.
  20. Naismith played in some wider positions at Wigan, 2019-20 time probably, according to Transfermarkt anyway.
  21. The back row or couple of back rows seem to get away with standing, although that varies.
  22. It never rains but it pours eh. Also saw the quote said Weimann out for 2 weeks
  23. It's hard to find comparisons isn't it, I agree Bellingham well how old was he? Kinnell. Dunno how well you compare fees and profile when different positions come into it- Maddison? Eze?
  24. I'm not sure if Lewis-Potter the best comparison as different positions. Think he was £16m initially, rising to £20m with add-ons met etc. I would however compare Lewis-Potter is Semenyo. Last season their output was similar and Semenyo is a year older hence that year more of growth, development. Bellingham, Maddison may be two positional comparisons? Eze or are some of these more attack minded ie attacking midfielders? In fact Semenyo's overall end product was comfortably better! Just checked- none were penalty goals. Lewis-Potter- 46 starts, 12 goals, 3 assists. Semenyo- 20 starts, 11 sub apps, 8 goals, 12 assists.
  25. I agree with 1st paragraph especially, 2nd paragraph I would question the intent and seriousness of the club yes.
