Just for the benefit of all you stoopid folk up Gloucester Road; even though none of us know how much Tomlin cost - despite you lot doing your norm of making a figure  up and then repeating it as fact - if it was £3m then this is fine because we have what's known as a 'billionaire' owner who has affectively bought Tomlin for change he found down the back of the sofa.

Imagine Rovers ever having one of them? I can't....

  2. The upgrades (if you can call them that) aren't an indication of UWE being shelved, more that they actually have some cash to install a converted steel container and a new roof for the tent to 'smarten' the place up whilst UWE gets sorted.

UWE will happen for them. 100%

    That's fine then .. He's been bought for a reason , let's see how he does !

Judging by my knowledge of your current squad I won't know who he is even after you have seen 'how he does'.

Without sounding rude, you are a real example of a gashead, Phil....

So we've got a ground over twice the size of theirs and we play a division higher, but they're on the same level? There's your gaslogic at it's finest!

Applying the same criteria, we're on the same level as Arsenal....

Correct, Glyn! Arsenal have red seats in a stadium just like us, so therefore, apart from their squad choc-full of top class international footballers; their Premier League status and competing in the Champions League, we are on EXACTLY the same level as them.

  5. So they are 'exactly' the same us, apart from the fact that they have none of the things that we have or indeed have any confirmed status on their stadium, which they continue to refer to as if they're moving into the bloody thing next month.

Complete mentalists, the lot of them.

Hopefully it'll be raining and the thugs will get a good soaking in our luxurious "you're not welcome" roofless away enclosure.

They were up to their usual antics today chasing Barnsley fans in the upper tier at Wembley.

Give me Millwall fans over a bunch of prolific racists, as Rovers' fans have proven to be, any day of the week.

It does make sense. A bank wanting to fund a project might need £50m. They might be getting say 7% return by investing that £50m in the stock market. They could borrow the money at 5% if the loan is mega-safe, such as a rich Jordanian banking family. So why would they spend £50m of their cash and lose the 7% interest when they could borrow it and only pay 5%? This of course does not apply to mere mortals like us who pay huge interest rates for loans, but that's why the rich always do well.

So with Al Qeada's easy access to cheap borrowing from the family bank, why hasn't the building work started at UWE yet (excluding the car park, that is.....)?

Well in that case had the referee given the foul on our keeper when Dover equalised in the last minute in our penultimate game, we would have gone up in first place instead of Barnet.

Well if you weren't so shit, you wouldn't have been playing Dover in the first place.

    About 6/7 of us?

Cue predictable responses suggesting 6/7 is actually a large amount for us :)

Of course it would have been many more than 6/7, but many of us were locked outside the forum.

The tremendous irony about Rovers' fans being locked out of away games is that the only game I remember fans being locked out of was City v Rovers two years on the bounce in the mid-nineties and it was City fans locked out.

Maybe that's where you got the idea from?

Are you going to be having an open top bus parade, for finishing third in League Two, ahead of Accrington Stanley on goal difference??

That is a given. It's the permission for a 'national' holiday to be declared in Kingswood, Staple Hill and Fishponds that's being finalised this morning.

  11. "Are you watching Ashton Gate? No. Primarily because games at their level are rarely broadcast on TV.

I actually see their automatic promotion as a blessing, as it has spared us all the torture of hearing about '60,000' gasheads going to Wembley over the next couple of weeks.

Not sure I agree mate, I didn't hang up my scarf when we pipped Aldershot to the last promotion place from the basement division in 1983/84 - and loads more didn't either. We were right behind Terry and the boys.

You obviously weren't around when we were right down there....incidentally, in that same season the gas finished 5th in the division above us.

Never forget our history...it's what made us

I'm in my forties, so that promotion was my first as a young City fan and TC remains my first footballing hero.

However, whilst I remember those dark days that preceded the promotion well and the fact that we have been where they have been (though not quite as far down....) is not lost in me. Given our current status I would be very, very surprised if we ever found ourselves back down there in my lifetime and thus I have no fears of ever having to hang my scarf up.
