Annoyingly - I think they are going to get back to back promotions.

    Urggghhh.

Console yourself with the fact that should they get promoted to League One they will be delighted about getting into a division we would be devastated to find ourselves in.

It's worth keeping that in mind should they win promotion from the basement, because none of us will stop hearing about this achievement.

Our place is historically one League below you, and it looks good for now. Love him or mock him, our manager seems to be doing a great job. Could it be three promotions in a row? Too early to guess, but we're on the up at last.

Three promotions in a row? This is very out of character for a gashead to get a little ahead of themselves......

They don't understand statistics red some of them seem to think home and away crowds double if they get into the championship.

What they don't understand is that constantly prattling on about attendances can  make them look very silly when they are unable to sell-out a game of this magnitude, whatever division they are in. Especially with them having such a small capacity to fill.

  4. Local derby; five games left; two points off automatic promotion. Surely, surely that means a sell-out today by the self-proclaimed greatest supporters in the world. But no, it isn't.

Compare and contrast with our season of disappointment and a bigger stadium to fill and yet 95% of our games still sold out.

    Rovers - know your place.

Doesn't matter whether they are multinational or not to me. There was a article a few years back when we first did it about how we raised more in sponsorship than at the time premiership clubs Bolton and Wigan. Wigan were sponsored by 188Bet that year I believe and received £50,000, we were sponsored by N-Gaged(fix) and received £85,000. The main thing is that we raise a lot more than the majority if not all League 2 & 1 clubs by doing this and a lot more than if we sought out a individual sponsor directly.

As for being sponsored by a boozer, you lot like laugh but it doesn't bother me. Local business that took their chance in the draw, at-least their logo looks decent on the shirts compared to some of the crap we've had in recent years!

Now being sponsored by Vanarama... it sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it.

To be honest, it is a really good idea and so long as you get over 50 participants then everyone's a winner.

And of course for us there's always the chance that you will ironically get sponsored by a shit tip and then we get to win too.

So with odds of 78/1, one of the companies who are already club partners and a sponsor of a stand happens to win the "top" prize of front of shirt sponsor and back of shorts sponsor.......nothing dodgy going on there then :fear:

It could only be more sinister if a company that has Rovers' directors at the helm ever won it.

This of course that would be a terrible thing and when N-Gaged, a company run by Dunford and another no-mark Rovers director, won the first shirt sponsor raffle it must have been complete coincidence.

I think you have been brainwashed by someone North of the river - there is nothing to say our long domination is anywhere near ending

My tongue was so far into my cheek with my comment that it nearly poked the eye out of the bloke sat next to me.

  8. From what I've heard today, their new stadium at the UWE is moving ever closer and I would expect some movement in the coming weeks on that front.

On that bombshell, I hope all my fellow City fans have enjoyed their long and sustained period as supporters of Bristol's number one club, as we have only a short time left in this glorious position.

Actually I've just realised when they move to UWE that we will be Bristol's number one club again by default, so all is not lost.

Bollocks. As I aid previously, there is a thread on here lauding a Radio Bristol presenter for slipping a 'Mind the gap' reference in.

Any**** that gets remotely upset at trivial comments over football is a bit of a *****.

Some Rovers fans are *****s, some City fans are *****s , and some say 'amusing' things, that aren't really all that amusing.

You give me some random Radio Bristol presenter and I'll raise you Keith 'Junior Bent' Valle.

You lot have serious form for this type of thing. We have no form whatsoever.

So we have established we have never stolen anyones ground

As for 82, i beleive we made an offer to buy AG when you were going bust. Thats buy, as in not steal

We have, but for a club nicknamed The Pirates it seems you're shit at stealing as well

I didn't hear the comment, but I can assure you when Keith said it, it would have been said flippantly and you are reading far too much into what he said. He may even have meant the comment to be heard by his wife, who is an avid a City fan as Keith is a Rovers one.

Wonderful news about Keith's wife, but his regressive tone suggested that he just couldn't help himself, just like the rest of you.

For clarity, if the situation were reversed, Adam Baker would not even think to suggest putting Rovers' score up on the scoreboard at AG.

Sorry to reply again, but I thought I needed to refer you to the legendary thread named Non-League Bristol Rovers. A few chuckles and 1,000,000 views.

I won't waste my time finding out, but I wonder how many times we would have 'sold out' the 11,000 capacity Memorial Stadium with our attendances Ashton Gate in the last ten years?

I'm going to guess every single time would be the answer, as I'm struggling to think of many sub-11,000 attendances at AG, which I suppose would equate to somewhere around 250 games in that period?

Compare that to the handful of times that you lot have sold out the Memorial Stadium in the last twenty years and you can see why we think you make complete dicks of yourself on the attendance front (well every front to be honest).

So you can see why 1,000,000 views is easily attainable when giving our vast support and then dividing that between the age of this thread in days and the number of times that we keep having to add to the thread with comments that remind you that your league status, attendances, stadium, squad, training facilities, academy set-up, financial backing, management and every single aspect of our football club are light years behind us, even if you are now level on points with that footballing powerhouse, Accrington Stanley.

It must be at the very  least 2 years  since City scores were shown on the scoreboard , and Keith Brookman is the matchday programme editor not the stadium manager. Still, lets not let the facts ruin it :)

The 'fact' that I am not up to speed with Keith Brookman's latest role at your gloriously successful club is neither here or there in the context of his comment about flashing City's score on the scoreboard.

What really troubled me was the regressive childish tone he adopted when suggested that this would happen. That tone should be embarrassing for any grown man with an ounce if self-respect, so of course I doubt he is embarrassed at all.

Congratulations on drawing level with Accrington Stanley. For a recently non-league club you are belying your status, so well done.

Jeez, really? Do they still do that?

    *cringe*

According to co-commentator, Keith Brookman - who is their stadium manager - yes they do.

To be fair to them, now that they have drawn level on points with Accrington Stanley, I think that entitles them to take the piss out of us.

Rovers fan mentality: win to go into the auto spots, don't celebrate but look at the City result.

Correct - I was in the car earlier and Rovers were the DAB commentary on Radio Bristol and during the short bit I listened to it was announced that City had gone 3 down.

The Rovers employee co-commentator chuckled and then stated that that scoreline would be on the Rovers scoreboard for the former non-leaguers to laugh at.

Obsession - a perfume by Bristol Rovers

  16. Gashead on 6-0-6 now and he just couldn't help himself and spent as long summarising Rovers' current position as he did telling the listening public that us City fans will be running for the hills and hiding behind our sofas because they won promotion today (certainly sounded like they had) and they are building their new stadium ready for next Saturday.

Oh, and their owner is a billionaire don't you know.

    Tw4t

  17. And also; why, when Bristol Rovers achieved planning permission to redevelop the Memorial Stadium in 2007, are they still at the Memorial Stadium with no redevelopment or new stadium in sight and have they still not overtaken Bristol City leaving us trailing in their wake?

    Tis all terribly strange
